Really loved it, loved all the choices on the menu, it was hard to just pick a few dishes!
I dined here with two girlfriends for a bday. The food quality was mixed, the starters were stronger than mains. Of note, the cheddar pastries, cuttlefish pasta, and asparagus side were delicious but the pork main was really fatty and rare and the chicken offal ragu pasta was overcooked. Berry dessert was like a mushy hospital jelly but the milk cream and caramel was excellent. Service was lovely.
Expensive for what it is. Was recommended by a friend but the food didn’t meet the hype. There were so many bones in the turbot loin which costed £30.
Amazing food and wine selection! Highly recommend for a tasty dinner.
Delightful, but the menu was not as good as when we first went - especially as I have extremely fond memories of the katsu sando
The desserts were outstanding...interesting flavours and not too sweet.
Delicious food, served in a laid back setting. The food at Bright was incredible, it was creative and interesting, not your normal dining experience! Wine list was extensive, only one beer available. Would recommend to anyone wanting to try something a bit different
Lovely little spot with stellar service, delicious food, and nice wines.
Very very tasty food (need I go on? Oh, until 50 characters...) served by charming & efficient people in a a pleasant environment. The cooking is neither classic nor gimmicky-for-the -sake-of-it, but seems to involve getting good ingredients & finding ways to make the most of their flavours & textures. I just hope it doesn't end up getting too popular, and attracting people who go to "the best places" because they are supposed to be the best places, rather than because they enjoy and appreciate what's on offer.
The menu was off putting
Genius in the kitchen. Charming staff. Wine list is on the edgy side but sommelier will guide the less experienced. Great buzz without being raucous. It’s our favourite place to eat for a while now.
Great drinks list.
Extremely attractive staff 😊
A great space for relaxed and casual dining - food is very good, as is wine and service.
The food was very nice and service very good. Personally I didn’t like the wines by the glass we tried. To lean, sharp with little flavour. I’m afraid people seem to be able to sell Natural wines just because of their name without them actually being any good.
Great as always. I'll be coming back again and again!
It was a lovely evening. We went on a French wine evening and got to taste a few different ones which was awesome. The staff are all super friendly and the food was delicious! The things that stopped it getting 5 ☆ was it was really expensive and I think there could have been a couple more dishes on the menu...to tie the theme together!
This was a spot-on experience! Lasagne fritters blew my mind and the team knew exactly what I was after wine wise and ended up with a banger from Jura (Dom. De Saint Pierre). Both of us really impressed. Even the hand soap impressed!
Delicious food and wine, attentive staff and good portion size. Return visit already planned!
Stunning food - inventive yet comforting and, above all, enjoyable!
Unfortunately most dishes are overly salted. When you put too much salt in a fish dish it ruins it which is a shame as the dish was supposed to be nice. The only thing which we truly enjoyed was the grilled asparagus which was a promising start. After all of the others, e.g. rigatoni, radicchio & pollock came overly salted. We would love to rate is high as the service was fantastic. I think chefs need to revisit the dishes.
Thought the Grilled Oysters could be more grilled and the cracked side plates discarded!
Enjoyable dinner in a fairly stripped back room; attentive (without being in your face) waiter
As usual, just quality quality quality... and obviously lovely staff. Budget wise, it is more on the expensive side but worth it once in a while.
Really good natural wine list!
It was a great evening, knockout dishes were the grilled radicchio with preserved cherries and crab, egg and chicken broth. Can't wait to return!
I knew the wine list would be fantastic come from the Noble team and the food only surpassed this further! Have waited a while to dine here (due to pregnant wife) and it did not disapppint. Amazing dishes served elegantly and with super knowledgable staff as you would expect.
Brilliant as always!
Great dinner, superb service and a wonderful experience all round.
Best Dinner in East London without a doubt.
Would highly recommend and wish I had been here sooner!!!
Already planning a trip back!
I've lost count of the number of times I've eaten at Bright but each time is a joy. Impeccable food, delightful staff, incredible wine. Everyone should go.
Absolutely brilliant! One of my new faves!
Great atmosphere, wine and food.
Flavours were delicate whilst impactful and portion size was ample for sharing.
This is my 4th visit to Bright and I must say, it never fails to delight. The service is amazing, we felt very well looked after. Special efforts were made to make sure I could enjoy certain dishes ( I had a slightly more well done portion of the beef chop compared to our other guests - I'm pregnant so couldn't have rare meat) at the suggestion of the waiter which was very considerate. The food is simply sublime. Beautiful flavours, well executed. There was not one dish that fell short and as a table of 6 adults, we tried most of the menu.
Delighted to have such a great restaurant within walking distance. The guys that run this place should be very proud.
The wines by the glass are great, and the snacks are really good. But the main dishes we chose missed the mark and were a little disappointing.
The onions with rosemary and stracciatella were to die for - one of the best side dishes I can remember. The katsu snack was also terrific. But the linguine with cuttlefish and the scallop with preserved lemon and jalapeno dishes were both a little disappointing, as was the pork belly on fried bread.
Cool place, and probably worth checking out, but if we were going back, we would probably just treat it as a wine bar and maybe have snacks rather than a full meal.
Staff were friendly and attentive without being amazing
Outstanding food and the orange wine is incredible
I've been saving Bright for a special occasion so when we were looking for a restaurant to celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary, the only place I wanted to go was Bright and after being there, I really wish I hadn't. Not because the food was awful, but the overall experience was so disappointing that it actually ruined our night.
Bright only takes 2-hour booking, So we booked ours from 18.15 till 20.15 on a Friday night. When we were going to run late, I called them and advised them, but they managed my expectations by saying that they will need the table back at 20.15, which is fair.
Then we arrived. Mindful of the time pressure, we were keen to start ordering, but no one came to take our drinks order for 10 minutes. Then when they did, we chose a wine we wanted to try. We asked what was it like and her response was "oh loads of people order it". So we ordered it. Then shortly afterwards, I'm guessing a sommelier came to warn us that this particular wine was unfiltered and we may not appreciate it, so that took another 10 for our second choice to arrive.
With the arrival of the wine, we ordered starters that took another 15 to come out and our main didn't come out for another 15 after we had finished our main.
Now to the food, the two starters, oysters and scallops were divine, but then we ordered a whole grilled fish, that came with absolutely nothing. The waitress at no point suggested that we get any sides, so we just had the under-seasoned fish with nothing to go with it.
After we were done with our main, the waitress absently asked if we wanted dessert and as soon as the word "no" came out of our mouth, the bill was smacked on to our table.
So there are a couple main issues here:
1. As part of booking, they asked if it was a special occasion, I mentioned our anniversary and there was no acknowledgement made of that.
2. Yes we may have been 10 minutes late, but if the service was more attentive, we would have finished our meal in one hour 50.
We had an amazing Sunday afternoon, the food was exceptional! wine and service- spot on, Viva la Lulu!
A lovely, light space populated by passionate and engaged staff serving simple but delicious food and a great selection of wines by both the glass and bottle.
Delicious food. Banging wine.
Pretty much amazing in every way possible. The wines are fantastic, staff service and food likewise.
Went late Saturday evening. Top food, wine and service. Buzzy atmosphere. Highly recommend
