BRIO Tuscan Grille - Fairfax - Fair Oaks Mall
Changed in the past year, and not for the better. Poor management, mediocre service, decent food but reduced menu. Probably be closed in the near future and nobody’s fault but their own; too bad.
Food has always been excellent as well as the servicr
My cocktail was fair, not the first time there. I would only order wine if I were to go back again.
The wedge salad was good but the lobster ravioli was fair in taste and barely lukewarm.
At first they placed us at a table, that was in the main walk way to and from restroom, and where the waitstaff use a terminal
We aasked to be moved, and they did.
Their service was not good at all
We waited 20 minutes for our bill
Tonight I had not only the best meal, but also the most enjoyable evening in recent memory. The food was excellent, the service was pleasant and efficient and the price was fair for what we received. Highly recommend.
As usual the food was great. Service great also.
Loved it! The service was great! The food was amazing! Would definitely recommend it to everyone!
This is a nice place for a quick, reasonably priced lunch in Fair Oaks Mall. The two course lunches have several choices but they removed the wedge salad as part of that "deal". The two course lunches are not available on the weekends, so if you are looking to have that, remember - not available on Saturday or Sunday. Decent food, reasonable portions and price.
Celebration luncheon for my birthday. Service was just OK. Mentioned on reservations about my birthday and no mention from service at all.
Always good food.
Very slow service. Made reservations for 6 and our table was not even set even though there were only 4 tables of guests in the entire restaurant. Ladies food and drink orders were not taken first and food was not very flavorful for pasta. Would not go back for dinner.
Birthday, Asked for cake through the App and got nothing
Brio is not the same it once was. The food was barely mediocre where it was once excellent. The staff are friendly and trying, but it's clear they're overwhelmed. My food was not as described, which tells me the chefs are just not caring. Got a caesar side salad made with Kraft parmesan cheese and brown iceburg lettuce (although the table next to us got romaine), a few strips of chicken (paid an extra $6 for that?!) and they forgot the dressing which had to be retrieved. Ordered the flat bread chicken pesto and instead of a nice drizzle of pesto across the whole flat bread, there were massive oily globs of it randomly plopped on with a spoon. The fish special had the smallest protein I've ever seen, and the broccolini as a side was so big around at the stem that it wasn't cooked (the stem was larger than the fish). The "molten" chocolate cake was a hard, dense sorry excuse for cake with none of the expected gooey chocolate center one is looking for. Instead, I had Hershey's syrup squeezed all over the plate, freezer burned ice cream, and oil seeping out of the middle of my cake.
I will say that our waitress was very kind and clearly trying to please. Sadly, I feel she was overwhelmed and it made her miss small details (no dressing, coffee clearly forgotten with dessert, etc). No real complaints about her except for the attention to detail she seemed to be missing, but it could be an off night for her.
Brio used to be a family favorite, but we're going to stick with Cheesecake Factory across the hall in future.
Meeting with volunteers and coworkers
The food here is absolutely outstanding. The service was great and we enjoyed leftovers the next day!
Father’s Day lunch
I would not recommend this restaurant to my friend or visit here again. I order dish with chicken pasta dish. Grilled chicken had burned taste and so blend (no seasoning at all) and angel hair pasta contained about an inch long part of "stainless still scrubber". Never have I had this from any restaurant. When I showed this to the server she just took the part away and did not offer to change the dish. I would never visit this place again.
Although we went for a late Sunday dinner and the place was not busy at all; we found it to be completely pleasant. Lexi our server was superb! Patient and new the menu very well. The dinner and the dessert were definitely beyond our expectations. We will be returning soon and we highly recommend Brio Tuscan Grille at Fair Oaks Mall. One thing I was very pleased with was that I was allowed to change my side from potatoes to pasta. THANK YOU! Not too many places let you do that these days.
Brunch omelettes, French toast and potatoes were only lukewarm. Salmon and shrimp dishes had sides mixed up and were delivered 1/2 hour after other dishes. Drink refills were not timely. Child given adult order.
When we first got there we had a server and as we sat down she had turned around and gave us a dirty look. We didn’t know then that she was our server. Then she came by and introduced herself as our server. We gave it a go and ordered our drinks. As she brought the drinks to us she stopped another server and asked him to bring us our drinks instead. He did and proceeded to introduce himself to us as our server. We asked why. And wasn’t really given a reason. We were confused as to why our original server had refused to serve us as we had just sat down. We weren’t dressed badly nor were we rude. She left a bad impression on us and because of that we will never ever dine there again.
Kudos to the 2nd server. We gave him a hefty tip. Such a disappointing experience.
Servicing lady came after 1 hr for ordering the items after we got the table
There lacks many vegetarian options, and the Pedro is quite bland
Good food, decent service but too loud. Value is very good
Great children and service as always
Manager was great but besides that staff was extremely slow and food was just ok. Won’t be going back.
Good meal. Good waitress. Easy in—-easy out. Very good restaurant.
We have had several positive experiences at Brio restaurants, including this one. However this visit they had many large parties - our server had two tables that had 8 to 10 individuals, as well as 3 other tables. Consequently our service was very slow. Over an hour for two courses. We wanted dessert but after waiting for 10 minutes after our server brought over the dessert menu for her to come back, we gave up. Very disappointed.
We were celebrating two birthdays, but nothing was made to feel special or offered as a dessert option.
We started on the patio with drinks and appetizers...all good. When we transferred inside, the service was not great. We had to ask the server for a bread basket, and there was only one for seven people. My husband and I ordered side salads, but mine came out with dinner, and he didn’t receive his at all. He eventually canceled it. Daughter ordered a pasta chicken dish with pesto, mozzarella, etc and asked for everything to be served except the pasta...chicken came without cheese, and other toppings. They were eventually brought out separately on a side plate. Two people had to ask for extra sauce for their dishes, and they were not brought out quickly. Server forgot to remove the $7.00 missing side salad from the bill so he had to redo it. It WASN'T your best night. We will probably go elsewhere for our next birthday celebration.
The staff did a great job for our party of 10, including children. Very glad we chose Brio for our special occasion.
Food was excellent! Great Service!!
Everything was great once we were seated (service and food). Issue was we arrived 10 minutes before our reservation time and were not seated until 40 minutes later (30 minutes after reservation)
Service was not as expected, food came out cold, chicken was dry and no one came for refills water!
It’s was a busy day because Of Mother’s Day, so it’s to be expected the restaurant would be busy and loudspeakers I made a reservation because I did not want to wait, so I was surprised to arrive and have to wait. When I asked the hostess, she was short and rude. I let her know I had a reservation and she was still short. I didn’t appreciate it and gave her a stern look. I was there with my toddler so I wasn’t going to get snippy in front of him.
Suddenly, they seated me almost immediately, a minute later.
The server Ashley was great. She was running around but she never faltered her smille and patience.
The hostess role is important as this is the first impression for the guests. They were young and clearly inexperienced. Please work on their training so they are able to handle all types of days and holidays.
Very nice mother's day brunch!
I would suggest going when it’s not so busy and our server even felt the need to apologize to us for the wait because of how busy they were which was fine. There was definitely long times of waiting between food and table after us even got their food first. I will still go back but my eyes only for lunch when it’s not super busy.
The food was bland and expensive ($115 for 2 people). Service was decent but overall not worth it in my opinion.
The restaurant is nice, the service decent, the food ... mediocre. Italian food should be served large, piping hot and full of flavor. All four of our meals were bland. Brio seems like it wants to compete with restaurants like Maggiano's, but it doesn't even come close. If you want to spend $100 for a family of four, go to an Italian restaurant (or any restaurant) that at least knows how to get spaghetti right.
We had quite a difficult mix of customers - one middle-age+ cancer survivor, my 92-yo mom, and my mentally handicapped brother - along with my brother, husband, and myself. Our server did a terrific job of intuiting to whom he should address certain questions (more bread, another round of mimosas, etc) - and kept the pace of the meal flowing. Our one negative comment was the breakfast potatoes - which were dried out and more-than-crisp. Both types of omelets were delicious, as were the scrambled eggs and shrimp pasta meal.
