Me and my partner came before a show and the whole experience was amazing. Firstly the service was attentive and relaxed at the same time, by that I mean If you needed something from them they would be with you straight away but they didn’t make me and my partner feel rushed at any time.
Secondly the drink choice - the choosing of our drinks took longer then the food. There was so many things to choose from including cocktails. Being a lover of gin the choice of gins was outstanding.
Finally the food - the menu isn’t huge but still offers a decent choice for different pallets. Me and my partner had a mix of the Asian light bites including sushi and boa buns which were out of this world. All food was fresh and truly amazing in flavour.
If visiting London and a love of oriental food I would say this place is a must!
The horrendous service let down the wonderful food. It was practically empty when we arrived at 3.30pm and as soon as we were sat down we ordered cocktails, but then waited over 20 mins for our cocktails to come, we should have known the service would be awful, in fact we had received our starters and still no cocktails! The water wasn’t topped up, we had to keep asking for more, we seemed to have a different server every course and for drinks, which didn’t help. Then bizarrely despite ignoring us, or making us wait, at other times they would interrupt conversations to ask silly questions, or to try to take our plates and drinks when we were not quite finished, and then as soon as they’d put the bill down they were straight over hovering with a card machine, saying “oh are you working out the split on your phone?”, almost as if we were dragging our heels. It was so bizarrely too in your face or nothing and terrible it completely ruined the meal, which is such a shame as the food is absolutely brilliant!
I wouldn’t recommend it, or if I did (for the four and styke of decor) I’d be sure to make people aware that the service is horrendous.
Great location, excellent food, slightly slow on the service front - took three of us more than two and a half hours to have lunch and, in a near-empty restaurant, 15 minutes just to grab someone's attention to clear our table and ask for the bill. Big fan of the restaurant though and would recommend, just weren't fully on their game front of house on this occasion.
A fantastic find for us during our visit to London. We will be back again.
Delicious food, we ordered 10 of the smaller dishes and generally went down well except for the satay and the sauce that came with the duck spring rolls. The hit of the night was the tempura prawn and wagyu beef sushi. Great cocktails, attentive server who kept on top of our water and had good foresight, as well as attempting to calm us down on the ordering (it didn't work)! Will be coming back to sample more.
Really tasty food. Service was alright but the waiter didn't pick up on the fact that one in the group was a veggie and got her chicken. Had to pay for tap water. 3£ a bottle.
Great atomosphere. Brunch menu was sparse and pancakes were disappointing to say the least.
Got to be one of the best Tuesdays from a long while. Alessandro amazing in the bar as usual. Whole team was upbeat and made the atmosphere. Incredible venue and great great food
It was such a shame, the ambience is lovely, looks fantastic, great location. Unfortunately the service was terrible. Waited over 45 mins for one bottle of wine, then the waitress took our food order without writing anything down said she would remember it all. Guess what, we didn't receive any of our main courses!! When our food did arrive there was a fire alarm (not their fault). We did complain to the head waiter and he did apologised for the poor service. We took the service charge off the bill and it would have been nice to have been offered a discount. We will not be returning to the Bronte.
Average, overpriced food. Service not great; waiters inattentive.
The service was friendly and accommodated the group's diverse needs. The menu was interesting and the food super ! We really enjoyed our night there ..
Nice place. Starters were great but I wouldn’t recommend the funky fish with sweet potatoe fries. See what I got in the picture. The fries were more like a stale garnish. We informed the waiter but all he said was it’s good feedback but didn’t offer to replace them with real fries. The picture you see of the normal fries was an accompliment to my husbands lobster burger. Very disappointed! Wouldn’t go there again.
Disappointing! Looks a fantastic place to meet...but definitely delivered style over substance. Food was average at least our choices were ...and the funky fish and chips was a complete rip off! Extortionate battered fish!
To add insult to injury...while they have a sizeable wine list...you have to drink red in a small white glass...a pet hate! But Bronte only have one size glass...basic pub standards in my opinion.
Shame as it looks the part.
Unlikely to return albeit suspect it will benefit from it’s very handy proximity to Charing Cross Station.
Batman Alessandro made some amazing recommendations for drinks. Service was very attentive. Will visit again
Food was good and the staff kind. Service a bit slow, but atmosphere great!
We were seeing show at the Trafalgar studios and Bronte was a perfect 3 min walk from the theatre. Lovely outside seating area and even though the restaurant is on a busy thoroughfare (The entrance to The Strand) t was shielded from his by some well placed greenery.
We dined inside and made our way through to the back of the restaurant, which has its own bar. Place in a lovely corner booth, away from the main walkway.
Service was excellent and a spilt glass of water was magically dealt with. Menu is limited, but I sometimes think this is better, as the chef has a chance to hone his craft and not water down the offering. We decided to go for small bites from the starters on the menu and the portion sizes were great. The wait staff had a good knowledge of the menu (probably due to the fact the menu was compact) and made suggestions for us. Food came quickly and a slight problem with some undercooked satay, was dealt with and knocked off the final bill.
Would I go back...definitely.
Lovely central place to meet friends. Food was great, cocktails nice but on the expensive side. Staff friendly and helpful. Going back again.
Overall the meal was good and service largely very good. The staff were very friendly and service for drinks and during the meal good, although we did wait for about 20 mins for someone to come anywhere near us when we wanted the bill. The food was good, not amazing. The funky fish and chips is covered in quick thick batter (not my taste) and the fish overdone. I'd return as it is in a very convenient location however I think the food would need to improve. it is expensive for the standard.
The burger I ordered was raw and cold. I sent it back and you took it off the bill and also the coffees. The tart was soggy and the coffee cold. Will not be going back
Great food and service. We really enjoyed our meal here. Went for an early dinner before the theatre, worked perfectly.
The service is terrible and we were served raw chicken. I would advise not to visit this restaurant.
Another enjoyable night at this lovely restaurant.
I go to Bronte quite often and the food and value for money is excellent but the last 2 times I have gone the service has been very poor. We had to flag down the waiter every time we needed him and then he would disappear and literally have to go and find him. I'm really sad because I really love the restaurant but when you only have an hour for lunch it's too stressful trying to get someone's attention to order and then for the bill. I will have to find another favourite sadly.
Very nice place in central not too busy but still lively. The food is very nice and fairly priced, I would definitely come back!
Good food, but let down by poor service. Front of house staff need to lift their game.
Lovely setting but terrible service. Wrong food arrived at the table and the service was so slow. Once they took your orders you were forgotten about. No offer on extra drinks or checking in to see how we are doing. Waited 1hour to be asked if we wanted the bill and had to ask several times before it was actually done. Great interior but service needs a lot of work.
Very nice, handy for pre theatre supper . came for my sons birthday, the waiter was very sweet and helpful. pleased to see I had a paper straw with my g and t!
I visited Bronte for the first time last night for my birthday. The venue was pretty, although I think we could have been seated in a nicer section of the restaurant. I selected the “sip & sushi” offer, but was told this offer finished last week, so only the normal menu was available - wasn’t too impressed by that. Otherwise food and service were ok.
Perfect place! Well designed restaurant and the food is so tasteful. We really loved it!
Really overpriced. The portions are way too small for the price. A plate which costed 16£ was just 4 small bites of rice with some fish on top. Just crazy. You can eat way better with less in London. The place is cool, but very noisy. Won't come back for sure.
Service was very good - great ambience - food was fresh and well flavoured. My wife and I would eat their again and recommend to friends
We had booked brunch as part of a special birthday celebration. The breakfast took almost an hour to arrive and was cold. Also part of one meal was missing. This proved difficult to remedy. We were aware of two other tables who were experiencing similar difficulties .
We were not charged for our meal but left hungry and very disappointed.
It is a lovely place but needs to sort its kitchen out. The waiting staff really tried their best but were fighting a losing battle.
Interior and decor was fantastic - the place looks great. However, everything else was poor. Waited 45 minutes for poached eggs. Poached eggs arrived completely hard boiled and had to be sent back. Manager passed our table, asked if we needed more drinks and then left without checking properly what drinks they were - drinks that were also sent back to be replaced (with the correct ones)! We took the service charge off the bill - the cashier a) didn't even blink at the request, they must be used to it and b) didn't bother to ask why!
Such as shame as it was a lovely venue in a good location - but we won't be going back. Is the location maybe the problem - they must get so much passing trade that they aren't worried about customer retention?
We were looking for somewhere for brunch near Trafalgar Square that was 'nice' but not madly expensive, (ie: didn't want to pay £25 plus per person for a lite bite / brunch). Found Bronte on google - great find - we were very impressed. Lovely place with great food and service. Will definitely make a point of returning.
Very lovely pre theatre meal. Very nice setting, great food - would be perfect for dates
Great food, atmosphere, good price. I liked the tableware and the gin selection is excellent.
Very busy out front, a lot of noise. Luckily for us we were booked into the restaurant which is towards the back of the establishment. We had excellent service. It was my son and his wife's birthday and the waiter casually asked me if it was a special occasion and brought out two lovely cupcakes for them with a candle on. Very nice evening.
Perfect lunch spot for business or pleasure. Excellent menu - international with pan Asian/fusion leaning. Duck buns are delicious but unavoidably messy. Salads and sushi totally delightful. The only challenge is deciding what to choose. Elegant dining room - the modern classic look that’s currently very en vogue done very well.
great place for dinner with friends or for a few drinks
Great service and atmosphere, food was also really fresh and tasty. Drinks are a little pricy but overall a great restaurant for dinner with friends or a date.
