Taking its place at 1-3 the Strand, overlooking the bustling Trafalgar Square, Bronte is a welcome new addition to London’s vibrant restaurant scene. Chef Andrew Lassetter is at the helm of the kitchen creating a menu inspired by the Pacific. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as weekend brunch.
Tom Dixon’s Design Research Studio has given the space a bright look.
Floor to ceiling windows bathe the front pantry area in natural light, with a subtle and stylish palette traveling through to the main Dining Room.
Extraordinary materials have been used generously and boldly. The bright and airy rooms are accented with color from a pink concrete bar and green granite feature kitchen, to custom design furniture with green leather and black timber booths, and plenty of foliage to bring the outdoors in.

Nice Mimosas ready for birthday brunch for a friend as requested.
Thought a candle or something would have been nice to mark the occasion as I had informed the restaurant of the celebration.

Overall food was delicious and fresh. Service a little slow with offering water .

Would certainly visit again.

Booked for husbands birthday, food is really fun and different, went for sharing dishes, lovely G&Ts, comfortable sitting and friendly staff, busy with great music but could still hold a conversation without shouting.

Overpriced and very average, if that. £7 for 7 small pieces of tomato swimming in their own juice. £5 for average lukewarm fries. Close to £5 for an elderflower/lemonade. I have no problem splashing out but this is a case of 'style' over substance. Disappointing.

Unusual Asian themed food, nice atmosphere friendly staff. Why do so many bars and restaurants no longer stock my faveourite tipple Bacardi these days? Then without any warning serve another rum ?. When I said I did not like any other rum and asked for a vodka instead they forgot me but still tried to charge for it. I would go back though as it is a pretty restaurant and I thoroughly enjoyed my meal apart from odd tasting ice cream desert.

I booked this restaurant for a friend’s birthday and I could not have asked for more. The service was excellent very friendly and the waiters went out of their way to make us both feel great . We were seated at a great table as requested. The staff are all a real asset to this restaurant. The food was delicious , I would recommend the angry sticky wings and duck boa buns!! I would definitely suggest this restaurant to other friends . I will also be returning to enjoy the lovely cocktails. Thanks again 😊

Nice food and surroundings, but expensive for what it is. Service was very poor - no one around serving for long spells, different people serving throughout meal, people arriving after you being served before, etc.

Service very slow. We had to eat from a set menu and at 7:30 the prawn starter was no longer available. It took them forever to bring the glass of ‘bubbly’ included and it somewhat lacked bubbles. Constantly had to seek out our waiter for service throughout the night. Overall, a poor experience.

Bronte is a beautifully designed space, it looks stunning, and the food is ok, I had a full english, and whilst the portion was generous, and the ingredients of good quality the delivery wasn't great, service was slow, despite not being busy, the bacon wasn't crispy, instead rather flaccid and disappointing, the whole breakfast was luke warm, the baked beans actually stone cold. So whilst I got to enjoy a nice coffee, in beautiful surroundings, I'd have preferred to have knocked up the breakfast myself...

Lovely place to dine for the evening, food was amazing and for decent a decent price. When arriving at the venue, a waiter had looked at me but walked away without any contact. I had to walk to a waiter to get shown to our seats. Our waiter however, came across quite rude. No eye contact at all, took my friends order and started to walk away without taking mine. When it came to ordering, they hadn’t given us a minute before asking what we’d like to order, we then had to wait a while for our waiter to arrive to then order. Not overly happy with the service. However, the food is great!

We had a nice birthday meal in the evening for my mum. The food was great and the decor of the place is amazing. Only downfall was when I had initially brought in our own birthday cake, we had hoped the restaurant would keep it and bring it out in the end to surprise her, but we were told they would charge a £30 fee for providing such a service. £30 seemed a bit extreme as it would have cost more than the cake itself... so we gave that idea a pass. But in the end, they were kind enough to offer their own birthday cupcake after dinner.

Was disappointed to be told by the waiter when asked where my side order of bacon was that the 'chef said it didn't go with the omelette I had ordered' and therefore was not given to me (this was after I had asked where it was).

Bronte is quite a trendy venue, with staff who have a slightly condescending air. It has a cool bar down in the restaurant proper and cosy banquette seating if you're a favoured client or a larger party; otherwise you're seated at basic tables which are too close together for comfort and privacy. When we visited the table behind us were facetiming throughout their meal to family in the States, so their volume was turned up high and the noise was intrusive and anti-social. Finally, we had to turn round and ask them to adjust the volume which they did, reluctantly. Really, the staff should have stepped in so that we did not have to get involved personally. On a positive note, the Sauvignon Blanc was superb and my beef carpaccio the best I've ever had so praise where it's due. HOWEVER, the staff member who handled payment was less than gracious. She virtually rolled her eyes when we said we wanted to split the bill, as if it was too much trouble, and took great delight in telling me my Amex card had been declined when she tried to pay contactless. In fact, the issue was with her card machine, not my Amex, and all I had to do was key in my pin number.

Good, fresh food but the waiting staff were inattentive, some even appeared disdainful toward their customers so we were frequently ignored during dinner. The majority of male servers were more intent on chasing each other around the bar, having fun and treating the evening as a social occasion for themselves, and the female server we had was clearly very unhappy to be there/resented her customers presence. Everything seemed too much trouble and drink orders were forgotten on more than one occasion. A waiter tipped all of the sauce from chicken gyoza all over my top but I was treated like an annoying irritant when I asked for a cloth to clean it off. It felt like ‘the grown ups’ were absent, leaving their uninterested offspring to run riot in the shop. Despite having another table booked for Friday 16th Feb, we won't be going back.

Visited this restaurant last night and fell in love! I had read previous reviews about the staff however from the moment I stepped in, the staff were very attentive and lovely. I had Michaela as my server as she was the best!! She gave recommendations on drink choices as well as food choices and did not disappoint!! I had a drink which was heaven(completely forgot the name now!) Taste somewhat like a lemonade but the goodness of avocado and apples- heaven!! I had the miso salmon and wasabi mash, which again was just heaven! The salmon melts in your mouth and is soooo tasty! Topped it off with the coconut cake dessert and my night was on cloud 9! Although Michaela was our main server all the servers attended to our table and ensured we were ok throughout. My friend and I had the best experience and would recommend it to anyone. The decor and ambience makes for a nice night out and I will be back soon.

I went to Bronte for a 1st Date with my new Girlfriend, I drove past it one day and thought that looks nice. I have to say reading the reviews made me a little apprehensive but I’m glad to say, “some people just like to moan”. It was everything I was hoping for. The staff were lovely the venue is amazing with the perfect ambience and the food was delicious. Some reviews said it was expensive. Personally it’s as cheap or expensive as you want to be.
We will be going back, Thank you Bronte for a memorable evening.

Food was good but service was absolutely horrible. The waiter forgot about us three times. Promised the food would come slowly and one by one but it all came as once, this ruined the dining experience as it was a tapas/sharing concept. Asked for wine menu and had to ask another waiter because ours forgot. Same thing happened with the dessert menu. So disappointed with the overall experience. Noticed that all tables around us also complained

Although the staff was very nice and welcoming I found myself having to ask for a piece of lime 3 times from 3 different staff members. I can understand staff being overwhelmed and short of help. However, I found myself having to constantly raise my hand and asking for such things like having plates removed from the table after waiting 20 minutes for staff to clear. Majority of the time I was ignored!

Mercy was kind enough to organise a birthday treat for the guest I was accompanied with before hand. But yet again, there was a prolonged waiting period and it seemed as though I had to remind the hostess of this request.

Me and my friend went there for dinner. The place was really lovely, the only thing that ruined the experience for us was the waiter that was serving us. He was giving us an attitude because we didn’t order a lot of food and drinks. He kept checking his watch in front of us to get us to leave. He just made us feel out of place.
Will not come back there for dinner.
