Filling a void in Fulham’s restaurant market, Brook House offers a new dining experience for the SW6 community. Created by the former owners of popular pubs in Fulham & Chelsea, Brook House combines the best qualities of London’s renowned restaurants with the relaxed, traditional style found in the local pubs.
Excellent service food delicious the atmosphere great. A good experience but the main courses slightly slow to arrive
Delicious food and great service in a gorgeous setting.
The food is fantastic in a lovely surrounding. Staff needed to wake up but improved towards the end of the night. Definitely will go back
Very good Sunday roast in a relaxed ambience. Staff were super friendly and attentive to our two young children. Only thing missing was a high chair for our little one
Exquisite food and charming staff in great surroundings.
My favourite restaurant in Fulham; ticks all the boxes.
Incredible food in a beautiful setting, can not recommend it highly enough
A revamped pub. Pleasant decor, very helpful friendly staff. Interesting menu but slightly limited, which if you went regularly would soon become tiring. A shame they don't do specials of the day as well.
Quite expensive for a pub meal but overall four of us all enjoyed what we were served. The staff were very attentive without being overbearing. A large %service charge was automatically added to the bill, but at least they had tried to earn it!
I my first visit to Brook House was for Sunday lunch with a group of friends last week. Our initial thoughts were that the decor was lovely and there was a nice ambience to the place. We sat at nice round booth table and thought the menu looked really good with lots of options. The waiting staff were nice. Sadly things started to go down hill rather quickly. Firstly, it took a very long time firstly for our orders to be taken. A guest also required that her meal be dairy free. The lobster cobb salad that was ordered on the menu states 'with feta' and so she asked that her meal be made without feta and dairy free. Fellow guests ordered the Sunday roast chicken and beef. When the food did arrive, the roasts were covered in gravy. I mean covered! This is so school canteen and makes the sauce go cold so much faster. Serve in individual side jugs please like any good establishment does! It is so unappetising when the meat is virtually swimming on the plate. To make it worse, the roasts came ice cold, with even skin on the pool of sauce and very basic unappetising ice cold veg. We sent the roast back and the chef did reheat after agreeing it was ice cold. I mean, how is this coming out of the kitchen!?
Then the lobster salad, which was well frankly inedible. Not only did this arrive first time covered in BUTTER! but the lobster that finally arrived was so slimy and by its texture maybe from frozen. The salad was the most basic uninspiring butter lettuce, cube avocado and sliced tomatoes; a M&S bag would have been Michelin in comparison. It was also swimming in strong mustard dressing.
The waitress did remove the cost of the chicken roast from the bill but this didn't make up for the fact that overall the meal was very very poor.
None of us will be returning and are so disappointed considering we all live close by. It could easily have become a regular haunt. Unfortunately this is a good example of style of any substance.
Had an amazing meal here with friends and family. Service was good, very attentive to all our needs. Will be coming back again!
I choose this place as it was one of my locals, I invited my 60+ year old parents and sister with her fiancée from Surrey. I have been before and always had a good experience, as the food is beyond. This time as soon as we walked in there was an attitude from our waitress. Glasses/bottles slammed on the table, to the point water glasses had to be checked if they were chipped! When ordering the waitress literally shouted to my mother ‘I NEED YOUR ORDER!’ Oil was spilt on one of the guests shirt - no acknowledgment, no apology - was laughed off by staff. When my boyfriend asked when the main course would be coming out, she actually slapped his shoulder and said it’s only been 50 minutes, it’s coming! I complained to a manager about the service we were receiving, she apologised and said she would take care of us , but never saw her again! Family asked 4 times for the special cake my mum raced around London to get for me, they bought it out when I was not even there. Then when asked for the cake box, some man who we never saw all evening (not even sure if he worked there or was a friend of the waitress) appeared telling us it was thrown out and he would but it in a black bag, no apology just attitude! And we could see the box on the bar . Then he just threw a recycled Amazon box on the table next to us (who would eat cake out of an amazon box!!!) and out of no where demanded us to leave or he would call the police - would not even let us say a word! Absolutely disgusted. My parents spent over £300 to be treated like this!!!! I feel so guilty for bringing my family here and subjecting my parents to this.
When my mum called the next day to complain - she was told I don’t believe you, you must of been the issue and they shut the phone on her. No respect for their customers whatsoever.
As a licensed premise you have a duty of care and your employees should not be threatening paid customers! All the reviews complain about customer service, it needs to be addressed!
We came with a party of 9 people and the restaurant was nearly empty due to the 6pm seating time. Nonetheless, service was very slow and it took 10 minutes to get menus after we were seated. After 20 minutes, we finally were able to waive over the server to order drinks. The starters arrived after 15 minutes, but it took 1 hour 15 minutes for the mains to arrive after we had finished the starters. I shared the chicken which had clearly been sitting under the heating lamp for an hour. I would have sent it back, but we needed to wrap up the dinner at that point. I was really excited about having another good spot in Fulham, but they need to make some key improvements if they hope to last, particularly against Aragon House.
It was lunch time and not busy so noise level not an issue. As usual service was mediocre despite the restaurant being nearly empty. It would be a good idea to provide containers so left over food could be taken home if requested. Such a waste otherwise and we felt our waitress felt quite happy when she told us “we don’t do that” and we had to leave a third of our sharing plate for the bin.
Have been a few times to Brook House now and the food has been consistently outstanding, however the service still requires some fine tuning to lift the restaurant to a 5 star experience. Although there were many staff standing around and the restaurant wasn't busy, it took a while for anyone to notice that we had arrived and take us to our table. Overall there's nothing that couldn't be fixed with a little training and the food will definitely entice us back again.
Great lunch! The food was very good as usual and this restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. The service is just a bit too slow.
Beautiful setting! My salmon was over cooked and creamy runny type uninteresting sauce. I can recommend for drinks but would not eat there again. Really gorgeous decor so I would definitely go back for drinks! The staff were having a dropsy night as two waitresses dropped trays around us!
Really delicious food. Excellent service. 3 glasses of Moet, 2 we’re far less fizzy than one but they assured us it was from the same bottle... mmmmmm.
The welcome was amazing, you were made to feel special customers. The waitress was attentive, but not over the top, she was proffessional and friendly, her name was Electra. The food was amazing, I had an scallop to start and the sirloin roast. The meat was cooked to perfection and the yorkshire pudding was amazing. They make their own bread which was delicious and their own creamed horseradish sauce.
I didn't feel rushed and there was nice gap between courses. Thank you to all the Team at Brooke House.
Fantastic food, ambiance and service. A wonderful new local restaurant we will be revisiting.
We had lunch on Father’s Day. The place was really busy as you could expect on such a day so between the starter and the main course the wait was slightly longer but completely bearable.
The staff was really nice and the food delicious. Pistachio Opéra was to die for.
Fifth time we had lunch since the opening and food & service is getting better each time.
Will come back !
Such a lovely restaurant. I ordered lamb and so did my husband. Mine was almost raw and inedible. I sent it back and the chef came out to see me. He basically told
Me that my food was fine and the cut is naturally tough. I told him my husbands lamb was not like mine and he dismissed this and suggested I order something else. I was surprised that the chef was not able to see the thick line of gristle and how raw the meat was. My new meal was lovely, however if the food is not up to standard an apology should be made and the customer should not be left to feel they are somewhat ignorant of what the dish should be like when there is perfectly delicious version sitting opposite them. I was disappointed how this was handled.
Excellent food, comfy and good interior design. Service was a bit too familiar and the waitress was placing the plates on the table in a rush. Very nice music with a perfect noise level.
We ordered every starter and bar snack....... Oh my goodness, a feast. Washed down with a cheeky Gavi (seriously good value for the wine) service was just what we wanted, we aren’t the easiest when ordering so it was nice to see everything delivered so effortlessly when we were so chaotic ordering. Service was attentive but we felt like we were left to enjoy each others company without intrusion. Booked in next month when the girls are back over from Spain.
First time in our local and excellent food and service
We are returning customers as enjoy the ambience and the food is very good. However this visit we were disappointed by the poor service and how they actively discourage children. In such a family oriented area it’s a shame they proved no high chairs, no children menu and would not accommodate even a plan pasta for my son who could not eat the seafood one due to an allergy.
Good food but very rude staff. Won't be returning
Loved it, on our door step, been already 4 times and haven been dissapointed!
It is fantastic to have such a lovely place over looking the common. Always a wonderful welcome, food is excellent and the service outstanding!
Great food, but terrible service. Waiting 15 mins to have order taken, asking for condiments three times and also asking for the bill three times...needs serious improvement.
Great food, but extremely poor service. Extremely inattentive staff that needed constant reminding. They also forgot to bring some things out from our order.
I hope they take care to listen to their customers and improve their service. We are local to the area and a few of our friends have said the same thing about their service.
The food was slow today but the food was excellent.
Really limited menu which is designed for a hearty winter lunch not the summer. It’s as far from French cuisine as you can get.
Had to serve ourselves wine despite there being 8 staff members standing around serving no more than 2-3tables.
Disappointing overall experience as on a scorching hot day, the park across the road was full with people but the place was empty and over-staffed with none of the staff anyway attentive to our table.
we thoroughly enjoyed our bank holiday lunch at Brook House, the service was OK but they were 3 staff short unfortunately. The lady that served us was lovely & very helpful.
The crab linguini was disappointing. We were also surprised that there were no baby change facilities which made the whole lunch very stressful. The rest of the food was nice but not worth the spend.
really excellent menu. lovely service. A great bonus for Fulham residents
Our first visit, happy to have a new and good restaurant in the neighbourhood. Very helpful and friendly waitress. My lamb a bit tough but apart from that all good.
Food excellent, ambience and table layout very good, but took a while to attract attention of service on several occasions and had to arise from my table to go and ask for bill.
Food is ok but service is terrible
Great atmosphere and attentive service. The food was delicious, my only complaint is that our wine arrived in an open bottle with no label, didn’t want to interrupt lunch to ask about it.
Very nice place, we had a really lovely evening even if service was a bit slow
After years as a pub in various guises, Brook House has finally provided a top class restaurant on these premises. The food was excellent; the ambiance, superb and the service charming.
Incidentally, I visited Brook House a week earlier thinking it was a pub and was served a pint of their in-house bitter which was top-notch. I will be booking here regularly.
