Fantastic food, excellent service outstanding venue
Absolutely brilliant the food and service. Jacob our waiter was so knowledgeable and helpful. Wine list had so many good choices at very reasonable prices.
I would not recommend for those who are just parmi or steak and chips eaters as the food is at a higher end .
We cant wait to come back.
Great and different menu, meal portions were a good size. We will hopefully be able to visit again before we leave the area.
The waiter with red hair was so lovely and outstanding. However I explained to the other waiter that we found 2 hairs in 2 separate dishes and he said ok I will tell chef. Nothing more said. Not well handled. Food was pretty nice but it was a late down and a bit disgusting finding hairs in 2 separate meals.
There was also a public holiday surcharge as well that was not mentioned at time of booking or on day until Bill came out. The Brown Brothers grounds are stunning and peaceful, and wines are beautiful on a more positive note.
The service was wonderful, food amazing, so many flavours. An experience worth the $
Incredible food. Everything we ordered was both delicious and beautifully presented. Lovely experience.
I wasn’t tempted by any of the starters but my wife had the sea trout and scallop tartare and she was very happy with it.
We then both had the lamb neck and unfortunately although it definitely tasted of lamb is was overcooked and very dry. The yoghurt base was grainy and lacked taste, more would have helped with dryness of the dish overall. The vegetable was very bitter too.t
To be honest we felt it was no better than yesterdays bbq lamb reheated which was very disappointing.
Neither of us were tempted to have dessert.
BTW you asked if there was a special occasion on booking, I said yes it was my wife’s birthday. But it wasn’t mentioned in any way at lunch so why ask?
We did have a glass of Brown Brothers white and red. The red was palatable, the white watery. We did try to have a quick tasting before the lunch but due to Covid restrictions we didn’t have enough time or the capacity for a $30 formal tasting. Not sure why those having a sit-down lunch can’t have a sip or two to encourage wine sales.
I should also note that from sitting down to main being served was over an hour on not a busy day. No real atmosphere to speed things along however the blue wrens were cute. The precious and very spoiled dog at the next table barked at everyone…
Delicious food and great service
Excellent food. The food here never disappoints and menu changes frequently.
I consider it good value too for the quality of food.
Service was very good also.
I will be back soon.
Service was average, the food was below average I have been there quiet a few times and this time was unfortunately disappointing.
It was hard to choose between the varied and interesting food combinations. The flavours of our choices were exceptional.
Catching up with friends for a special birthday - excellent and so good to have good quality wines at reasonable prices
Fabulous Fabulous Fabulous!!! Beautiful food wine and service. Everything was simply perfect for our annual spring fling girls get together. Sit down tastings was so much fun, and loved being spoilt before and during our amazing meal. Thank you!!!
The waiter was very knowledgeable, courteous and helpfully. Ordered King Whiting, which was very nice but there was only two thin small pieces sprinkled with a few herbs and a few spoons of sauce for over $40.00. Brownie slice for desert was excellent. Very good atmosphere and wonderful gardens and surroundings. If you have deep pockets you will no doubt enjoy Brown Brothers.
The entrees we chose were tiny and somewhat disappointing.
The duck cabbage roll lacked the rich flavour expected from duck.
The Abrolhos Island scallops was a miniscule amount of thinly sliced shellfish past absolute freshness and inexplicably combined with nashi pear, the leaves of some mysterious succulent and "Geraldton wax"; the dressing was bland.
Main courses of steamed King George whiting and lamb neck were more substantial but not satisfying.
We enjoyed the sourdough bread - it is truly excellent - but would otherwise have left the table hungry.
Service was attentive, but charmless. And WHY oh WHY is it necessary to ask for salt and pepper?
We have visited the "Epi" Centre many times over the years. Unfortunately, it is nothing like as enjoyable right now as it has been previously. The end of 2016 was a particular high point.
The luncheon as always was very good. It was so nice to enjoy a day out of lockdown. The menu was very different and interesting. Well presented.
Beautiful venue, amazing food and great service. We will definitely be back. :)
Menu far too fancy. Food can be different & served with flair but what was served last Friday was extremely poor value for money. Portions tiny. What appeared on the plate was a far cry from what we read on the menu.
Awesome above and beyond service, excellent advice and recommendations on what to order!
So impressed with this locally driven eclectic menu. Interesting without being fussy, lovely to share and wonderful service. Will definitely be back!
Fantastic food and wine but very disappointing service this visit. Very slow, plates and glasses not cleared and the table not re-set at the end of each course. Your service standard needs to match the food and wine.
Great diversity in the offering and presentation was exceptional
Service ten out of ten
We had our Wedding Lunch in the Prosecco Lounge - food and service absolutely fantastic. Would recommend to anyone looking to celebrate any occasion.
Great service and friendly staff. Food was delicious..
AMAZING EVERYTHING! Especially the moscato ;) 10/10 would recommend xo
Food was so interesting and tasty! Would highly recommend the slow lunch.
The waitress was so easy going and really made the experience enjoyable.
A lovely birthday celebration with a delicious cake prepared by the pastry chef. Excellent service.
Absolutely loved our time here, not only the beautifully curated food but also the wine tasting as well. There was a playground for the kids, and a lounge in front of the fireplace where they could sit whilst we had our wine tasting. All staff members very lovely and very helpful. Beautiful grounds as well.
Such an enjoyable slow lunch, with matching wines. We were able to try wonderful fresh local ingredients & the lamb neck was so tender & tasty. Jacob’s service was amazing, he was attentive & very knowledgeable about the wines & the menu. A relaxed birthday lunch for two - heavenly.
Zoe was our waitress for the afternoon and she was faultless. Absolutely amazing service! The food was mediocre - the chicken from the mains was delicious however the pasta dish from the mains was very sour/bitter in flavour. Majority of the pasta dish was untouched but was not asked why it was unfinished. We dined here for our anniversary and had arrangements to meet with the wedding coordinator to show us around. The property is beautiful but not exactly what we are after for our wedding day.
Interesting menu, good size serves of beautiful food. Well informed wait staff.
Quality ingredients cooked in unique ways. Amazing
An outstanding meal. Innovative cooking of the sort not found in most restaurants. Interesting dishes, many of which are not the kind of thing you would cook at home. Staff were helpful.
We have eaten here many times ( though not recently due to Covid). It was great to be back at Browns.
Excellent food with 5 course with matching wines. The young man serving us is very knowledgeable about each dish as well as the wines. His made the lunch do much enjoyable
Brown Brothers never stop surprising us with wow food. They continue to incorporate local produce and innovate the techniques in cooking some exciting food! Great service with food cooked with heart and excellent culinary skills.
5 star restaurant who concentrate on the magic cuisine. Fantastic , the staff knew how and what food was prepared , cooked and presented to make it a very enjoyable experience.
Really enjoyed the food. Service was excellent. Great value for the quality you are getting. Wine prices are very similar to cellar door prices. By the glass prices very reasonable
Great place to grab a drink and food on a cold day
We couldn’t fault our meal. Every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. Service needs work. Our servers were friendly Our servers were friendly and d welcoming but we waited an interminably long time between courses and our server admitted that she had inadvertently given our dessert to another table. It was a cold and dessert so should have taken no time to prepare but we still had to wait forever and when it came my plate had Happy Birthday painted on it. Clearly not for us but an example if sloppy service.
Our entire experience at brown brothers was first class. Considering the enforced Covid conditions our group had a relaxed and enjoyable visit
