Browns - Birmingham
Celebration lunch with my daughter.
Arrived early and shown to a table after a fair wait - 3 waiters/waitresses mulling around but only one working the computer in turn to access table information.
Problems getting a drink for my daughter- the law says she can have alcohol but it’s not our policy - we were told. No information about Browns policy on the drinks menu or any other menu. Very upset and embarrassed by the way we were addressed by the waitress. We do know the law.
Long long long wait for food. All of 10 tables occupied while we were there as it was late afternoon. Break was lovely, risotto too peppery.
Elderflower cocktail sugary and insipid - we had it at the waitresses recommendation.
Very disappointed. Will not return. Could not recommend.
The afternoon high tea was a decent menu. However, the lemon tart was a tad too sour. The scones were great. We loved the ambience.
Fab..as always! Friendly staff giving a great welcome starts off a good experience. Special thanks to viktorija. Food was tasty, wine and Prosecco great.
We all had a lovely evening
Service and food was excellent
Great location, lovely staff , tasty good and value for money - ticks all the boxes.
I would definitely recommend, especially for pre or post theatre eating, as it is right next door to the Hippodrome and a lot cheaper than their on site restaurant.
Ok meal but nothing to write home about. Some things not available.
We booked for a Valentine's dinner. We have used Browns before in different places, and this was our second visit and kept up the high standard we have always experienced. Good atmosphere, good food, good staff. A lovely dining experience, friendly and relaxed. We'll definitely be back.
Friendly welcoming staff. Food was well presented and tasty. Would have liked some vegetables with my steak.
a great pre Christmas market meal. Good service and tasty food. Good cocktails too. Recommend
Browns is a buzzy restaurant with a good atmosphere. Plenty of choice on the various menus. Only slight niggle around service was with the wine. The wine glasses were still wet from the glass washer, we weren't asked if we wanted to taste the wine before it was poured and we were given an ice bucket that some customers who had just left the restaurant had been using, so most of the ice had turned to water and it wasn't really cold enough to keep the wine adequately chilled. Food was very nice, good quality but fairly small portion sizes for the price. Overall though, an enjoyable time was had and we would return.
The food was ok nothing special waiters were polite the place was not at all busy even though it was a Saturday night!!! No atmosphere at all, would go so far as to say dead!!!!!! The biggest issue was you had service charge !!!! What a ripoff!!!! Why do restaurants do that when there prices are high anyway, we have been to better places, much, with no service charge... will not be going back 1 because of the service charge and 2 place was not good ...
It feels bit like sitting in a goldfish bowl if you are by the window downstairs, and the food was average and no where near as good as their Worcester place, and just perhaps the champagne is a bit dear but the waiter we had tried very hard and was entertaining.
Good service, good food, very nice cocktails, relaxed atmosphere.
First class in all ways for a relaxed bistro/bar with particularly good service.
Decent eatery and a great location
It was a special day for me, and I wanted to celebrate the day with a tasty roast at browns with some good drink too, great service, great food.
The service and the food was excellent. The early evening menu is really good value.
