Booked online before arriving in Brighton. When we got to the restaurant we were told we could have the table until 8.30 because there was a show nearby which was enough time for us but made us feel a little pressured to get done. Several diners on the tables near us had complaints about service and quality of food which dampened the mood even more. When our order arrived the food was OK nothing more. Service acceptable. Our bill with drinks was £60 which was probably £20 too much for what we had in my opinion. Wouldn't go back.

Whilst the food was good if a little expensive the service was very poor for example we waited 30mins to place an order and then waited a further 35mins to be served . This was a pre theatre meal and we only had time for the main course no desert or coffee. Pity the poor service spoiled a good meal.

Brown's is a good bistro but quite noisy so not great for conversation. Service was excellent. Food was fine and they have an excellent wine list.

Convenient location for a meal prior to watching a show at the Brighton Centre. Comfortable seating, attentive service and wholesome food well cooked.

Excellent meals and service. Thee lobster was cooked perfectly. Their fish pie is delicious. All the appetizers were also really tasty and.

We came here for our anniversary, we were hungry so rocked up an hour early but they accommodated us with a very warm welcome and a choice of tables. Food was really lovely we shared the platter to start and one fish pie and one sea bass both of which were delicious. We had banoffee pie and Creme brûlée for pudding again both lovely. Would definitely go again. Thank you

I've been visiting Browns since 1995.this visit was very bad.
It was bank holiday Sunday, however the restaurant was far from full with plenty of staff who all seemed to be having fun but not seeing to their tables.we were not offered a drink for over 20 mins after being seated so we made sure we put our food orders in right away in case we could not get another server.
The service was very average and the roast beef was 2 out of 10
If I had not been entertaining family I would have refused to pay the £200 bill.
I may very well never be back.

Overall good, my daughter and I had the same food and we found that the salad dressing was a bit different from last time, a bit too spicy! Different chef I suppose !

Food good. Service friendly but a little slow. Good vegetarian options. No loud music which is a bonus.

Nice lively restaurant in the heart of Brighton. Food is just about average, but prices accordingly. Our waitress was appalling; wrong order and forgetting drinks. But overall a pleasant experience

Beware the booking time. Think we arrived in the middle of a staff change over 6pm, so initially the response from the staff that were there was non existence. That being said once approached the staff were very good and friendly. Variety of starters and Mains had, all reasonable.

I took my wife on a date and she loved the ambience and the food. The food is high end but the prices aren'. We will go back. The waitress was from Spain and we conversed in Spanish. She made us feel so welcome.
