Service as usual was excellent. Food choices on the set menu were good but maybe not as interesting as usual and the dessert table was quite disappointing.
Have been several times before and will return but wont buy another gin and tonic as I think £14 is just too expensive.
OK, but food a bit disappointing overall
Always fabulous, we visit regularly and always impressed. It’s our go to pre theatre dinner venue.
Excellent restaurant. The staff are simply, wonderful. Great location too!
Fantastic service and food, our waiter was especially nice. Thank you Stravos for making our experience even better. We’re not local but will definitely visit again when in London
We arrived to a warm welcome on a cold winter's evening a took a lovely table by the window, some did not have tablecloths though. The pre theatre set menu was small but the food was good quality and very tasty. I eat gluten free and our lovely serving lady always ensured I had a gluten free alternative even when not on the set menu. The included glass of wine was better quality than we had anticipated. All in all the experience exceeded our expectations and the very central location is superb.
Great evening, started with drinks at the bar, nice cocktails and good atmosphere. Dinner was excellent with a good choice of food. Everything arrived hot and the food was lovely. We like the dining room and it was lovely to have space and time to talk to our friends. The staff were excellent.
Exceptional service and wonderful ambience - with subtle lighting and beautiful furnishings. The food (pre-theatre menu) was super (apart from some overly crusty bread rolls!) and because we had no time for the set desserts, the staff brought us some delicious mini ice-creams to eat 'on the go' as we rushed to our theatre booking around the corner.
A very nice place to dine; we will definitely visit again.
I really appreciate the old school impeccable yet friendly genuine service. The 3-course deal is always such good value with a decent choices. Staff take food allergies seriously and the kitchen makes an effort to provide options for different dietary requirements.
We were four and had a lovely relaxing evening eating drinking and chatting. The place was very comfortable. We ate from the set menu which was very reasonable and enough choice for us all. The service was charming and attentive.
Great food. Fantastic pre-theatre meal.
Fabulous food very attentive staff but not intrusive. A fabulous end to a lovely London weekend. Would certainly recommend this restaurant and will hopefully be coming again soon
We went for a pre theatre meal for my dads 70th birthday. The staff were excellent and the food was lovely. When the waiter found out why we were there he arranged a special Happy birthday plate! It was a great start to a great evening celebrating.
Took my sister and mum for my sisters 29th - lovely food in a unique setting!
Excellent meal in a stylish and relaxed atmosphere. The service was superb. Would definitely come back!
A great meal with incredible value. Salmon and duck were tasty and cooked just right. Thank you
The restaurant was nice and the food was okay but the waitress got three out of four of our orders wrong. Also we had drinks in the evening which again weren’t great and they promised my children any drink they wanted as they were staying in the hotel but they only offered us one choice of drink and there were no marshmallows for the hot chocolate. They also got my breakfast order wrong. We loved the hotel but wouldn’t eat at the restaurant again.
It was fantastic! We will definitively go back! The service was impeccable! Very well trained staff.
Excellent value for money with the 3 course set menu and Prosecco offer. Very good service and lovely venue
This is a good restaurant which is quiet with excellent food and service. I have only been there for lunch, so cannot comment on it during the evening. The staff are attentive but do not rush you. I have usually chosen from the set menu which is good value.
Brumus is an attractive restaurant in a useful location for theatres etc. The staff are friendly and efficient. The food is pretty good. The set menu is a good deal at £23 and useful if you are going to theatre etc or not wanting to take too long. The wine however is amazingly expensive in my opinion. There was one at about £8 the rest around £11-£12+ for a glass 175cl. The fine wines even higher price for 125cl. Most of our bill seemed to be drinks. But that could say more about us I suppose! They could consider a house wine perhaps.
We found this restaurant on Open table and were looking for somewhere nice, close to the theatre (Her Majesty’s)
We were very pleasantly surprised by the staff and service in Brumus!
I would highly recommend it for a pre theatre meal, or just for a nice dinner regardless.
Food is good, and the staff always very kind. They even prepared a sweet plate for my mum’s birthday. The location and the restaurant are very cool.
Brilliant Sunday Roast
Lovely staff, so friendly and attentive. I was early and my friend was late, and I felt very comfortable waiting alone . I was given menu and drink etc. Just felt nice, and no rushing us even though my friend arrived 20 mins late. Great vegan options too!
Fantastic food and service. The ox check bourginon melted in your mouth and my husband said the roast beef was the best he had ever had. Service was superb. We booked for 1:15pm for pre theatre food (3pm show) and had plenty of time. Will definitely go back and recommend to my friends.
Pre-theatre dining on the set menu, which is good value for food, the wine is where they make their money back.
We had a lovely and knowledgeable waiter, made good recommendations for wines with the food.
Food service was a bit slow though, left us running for our show, same happened to another couple sat near us.
Great location if your going to any of the local shows. Leave plenty of time to enjoy your meal as everyone leaves at the same time generally for shows. Would definitely return again even if not going to a show, after bar was a good respite from the theatre cramped feeling!
Excellent food & service at very competitive prices for London.
It would be nice if something could be done about the noise level although it is difficult when it’s busy.
I love this restaurant - good value and so cosy on a cold winter's day. The staff are so helpful too.
We arrived at Brumus at 10.45pm an hour late as the kitchen was closing. But they gave us thew menu for an instant choice and gave us dinner. The fish was good, the wine (Bardolino) and service were great but the cakes were a bit dry by midnight. Great location and Brumus deserves high recommendation
Lovely food, relaxed but attentive service. A good evening!
Love going to this restaurant- the waiters make you welcome, the food is very good quality and reasonably priced for London. The restaurant in the hotel is lovely. Will come again
Excellent venue for a quieter and more attentive than a regular restaurant experience. We arrived early, had tea and then moved on to the pre-theatre menu. Would 100% recommend and go again.
great set menu and ambiance. Would recommend for business or pleasure.
I love the restaurant itself as Kit Kemp has such flair with interiors and there are always so many interesting things to look at, not to mention the lovely soap in the ladies!
I came to Brumus for a pre-theatre dinner at 6pm, so quite a busy time. The service was very slow considering the time and I don't think there were enough waiters to cater for the whole restaurant. I didn't measure the time it took to order, but I had to catch the eye of a waiter each time to order drink, the main and the dessert and bill because it felt like everything was taking ages. We only had a main course and a dessert and we had to gulp that down because we only had 10 minutes before curtain up! I think that either your waiters are not keeping an eye on their sections or you need more of them. Shame, because otherwise, it was really delicious and you always have a great wine list.
Perfect pre theatre dinner. Good value set menu. Polite and speedy staff.
Great food and atmosphere, service very good.
We love the place.
This is now one of my favourite restaurants. Every time I bring a new friend into London this is where I go. If you want an unhurried good value meal with silver service this is the place. The Open Table deal is very cheap but the food is first class. Bread is served free of charge. Wine is affordable. Great ambience. I have been about four times over a year and am remembered by waiting staff which is a nice touch.
Pre-theatre 3 course menu great value for money and great quality. Fantastic service from a very attentive waiter- very customer satisfaction orientated.
