Brumus - Haymarket
We enjoyed a lovely pre-theatre dinne at Brumus on Tuesday 10 March. I would thoroughly recommend and we look forward to returning.
Came for lunch with my husband - had the 2 course offer - choice wasn't that varied but it suited our needs - what we did have was very good and couldn't fault.
Lovely waitress who was very friendly and charming - and thoroughly looked after us
Always a pleasure to eat here - the pre-theatre fixed price menu is excellent value for money. The service is first rate and the waiting staff both attentive and friendly.
I have been to Brumas a few times and love everything about it. My friends hadn’t been before and were immediately impressed on walking in and both said they will return. The attractive decor/atmosphere where the tables are well spaced conducive to conversation. The service is professional and friendly , the menu is extensive, includes a set price menu of the day and the food is excellent. I will definitely go back.
Enjoyed our afternoon tea , good service, nice surroundings and good food
Excellent and warm service
After show meal
We had the set menu prior to the theatre and this was excellent value considering the quality of the food. Service was very attentive and the timing of the courses was spot on. Would return when in London again.
Everything from the moment we walked in the door was wonderful. We had more than enough time to relax, chat and enjoy our dining experience. Loved it and will definitely be revisiting.
A lovely lunch with a great value set menu option
Fantastic food and brilliant service A memorable meal. Will definitely return and recommend to family and friends
This is a great restaurant in a very relaxed space with lovely staff and nice food.
Excellent food and service, so thoroughly enjoyed our meal there, the only small critism was the £12.00 for a glass of Rose wine, but that could be me not being in touch with London prices!
Other than that, would def recommend, thank you!
I have eaten at Brumus several times, and so, I chose to eat there with a friend when meeting for dinner. We had a 5:45 booking which I chose specifically because of the pre theatre price and to allow my friend enough time to get to a 7:30 show. The waiter greeted us fairly curtly and told us strongly that there would not be ample time to have a pre theatre set menu, and that my friend should choose one entree alone off the menu—in fact, he even restricted her to what entree she could order and that the restaurant could serve in time. He made us feel very rushed and not able to get the experience which we should have easily had. I was really disappointed and if I ever went back would demand a different waiter. I think he was being strangely overconservative in regards to the timing of a meal.
It was an outstanding experience. Thank you so much for your hospitality and kindness.
Good ambience great location. Friendly staff. Martini spot on
Me and my boyfriend had a lovely date here the food, service and overall look was amazing. We loved it.
Loved it! We went for the pre theatre menu which was so reasonable. About £23 for a three course meal. And in Piccadilly that's very reasonable. I can't recommend Brumus enough for it's pleasant ambience, lovely food and really great service...so attentive. Lovely table setting and beautiful evening view out of the windows. Overall a beautiful setting. Although there was pleasant live music playing in the next room (bar) it remained in the back round. I particularly hate loud music at any restaurant. If we're in central again would certainly go back.
The waitress recommended the vegetarian option on the set menu which was really tasty. Food was delicious and the restaurant became very busy around 12:30 which added to the atmosphere. £19.50 for 3 courses is really good value.
Outstanding service & good menu choice. Very good value for such a high quality dining experience. Would recommend to all my friends.
Find all the Firmdale hotels great places to meet friends for lunch or dinner where you can sit in very comfortable, quirky surroundings enjoying tasty, very good-value set menu with attentive service and, most importantly, hear each other ! Brumus in The Haymarket hotel is particularly well positioned in central London near Trafalgar Square for friends coming in from different directions.
A very nice meal post theatre and excellent breakfast next morning
Ordered french toast for £14 it was soggy and mushy with what tasted like frozen berries mixed on top
It also had an overwhelming eggy taste without any cinnamon like you would expect.
Drinks were £5 a piece which is ridiculous for a glass of orange juice. If I had more confidence I would have asked for a refund as I would say my french toast neared being inedible
Lovely brunch in a great place just around the corner from our offices. Will definitely come back.
We were visiting the Haymarket Theatre and Brumus was next door. We had a Wonderfull experience in the restaurant and the food was superb. The waiter we had was exceptional and never rushed or pushed us for more drinks, which usually happens in other fine restaurants. It was my birthday and when they found out, they presented me with a little cake and fruit with a candle. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and will definitely return Brumus again in the near future.
The afternoon set was okay, almost considered terrible when compared with the price. The service was poor, I found the staffs quite disrespectful
Simply the best steak tartare I’ve ever eaten. We had the Nutbourne English wine, just to try it, and it was lovely and a good price. The staff were lovely and the room is really comfortable. Great family spot, though we weren’t bothered by noise while just in our own. Delighted we found it. Thank you.
The food was very good with one small problem. Both my friend and I ordered the blue cheese and pear salad to start. When it arrived, there was a notable absence of actual blue cheese, just a few shavings. When one orders a blue cheese salad, one generally expects the taste and texture of blue cheese. We discussed this with the waiter and they kindly provided some chunks of blue cheese, so it was fine in the end. Overall, it was very good and I believe that they are taking steps to avoid this happening again.
Very nice restaurant. I would definitely go back again.
Really good. Food was excellent from the set menu. We only wanted main, dessert and coffee and they agreed to let us include the coffee rather than a starter. Cakes for dessert are amazing. Service wonderful. A great find.
The bread was really hard and the service was slow (I had to stand up and go to the till and pay and go to the cocktail bar to get a member of staff to our jackets) The white was also not the best for £28. My desert was also dry.
You can see clearly that Brumus is trying to capitalise on the show next door but the quality was poor compared to the other
Hotels with the same chain.
I would not go back there again which is a shame.
Slow but friendly service and food was great good value for money
Great pre theatre venue, walking distance from most of the theatres. Great food and service.
An excellent venue - great decor, friendly quick staff and with today's 3 courses for £20 deal, excellent value. Recommend and would visit again.
Welcoming, attentive staff.
Sufficient choice on menus to cater for our tastes.
Good food, beautifully presented.
Excellent service, we were made to feel valued customers.
Great spot for a pre-theatre lunch. We ate off the lunch menu which is excellent value. The service was outstanding and the food delicious. Service was suitably quick but not a sprint.
Very good choice in a set menu. We booked last minute on a Friday night and were given a lovely corner table, so not too loud but did not feel isolated. Service impeccable. Very good duck and pollock. Dessert cakes weak -coffee and walnut bit dry.
Lovely intimate venue with attentive staff and well priced.
