They managed to lose our OpenTable reservation but fit us in anyway once I had shown them my email confirmation. What followed was possibly the worst service I have ever experienced. We were completely left and forgotten about, took around 30 minutes to have our drinks order taken. Constantly had to flag down servers, which seemed to routinely change. Food itself was excellent but the service led to a terrible experience overall. We were in there 3 hours, not because we were slow at eating, but due to the slow service.

My friend and I had the set menu and were not disappointed. We both chose the same: Smoked trout parfait, Sea Bass with sides of frites, and roasted root vegetable follwed by the Treacle tart with sauce and ice cream. The portions were all of a good size and were all very delicious. The waiters were cheery and friendly. Amor was our main waiter and was charming. We left with full stomachs and were very happy with everything. We both would have no hesitation to return here again. Go on, try it!

Our party of five chose from the pre theatre menu We all had two courses and were all very happy with our choices. Very good value for money. Our first choice of wine was not available, but the second choice was satisfactory. Service was friendly if a little slow, but understandable to a point given the pre theatre rush. Lovely ambience. We will definitely return.

I went for a Pre-Theatre Meal with one 'Girl' friend on a Wed Eve for my Birthday. The Decor (even in the loos !), Ambience & Service were all outstanding. The Food was delicious. The 'Sides' (which you do have to have with the 'Fixed 2 or 3 Courses), are a little expensive and my green beans weren't particularly tastey or warm. Our Chips & Carrots were fine. My Moules were a very generous portion as was my delicious Starter Soup. They also gave me a lovely B'day complimentary Dessert (+ candle !) which was much appreciated. I will certainly return to Brumus, probably with a larger party of people. Overall it was a lovely occasion and experience on my Birthday and both of us enjoyed it !

Told waiter we had theatre tickets. Dinner order didn’t go into system so no food for 45 minutes until we complained. Stuff happens but waiter should have checked and asked us. After that the Caesar salad was good as well as risotto. Think they should have comp’d something though…

Enjoyable dinner. Food was very good and the ambience excellent with virtually no noise interference. Service was a bit patchy and untidy. Value for money was on the margin with expensive wine.

Good value set menu, the food was reasonably good. I think they were understaffed as service was a little slow- we had no time for dessert as we had the theatre to attend. The staff were very friendly.

Another brilliant meal. All the arrangements had been made as we expected. The service staff did not understand our need to hurry on to the theatre. Service was slow, so we skipped dessert. Our fault. We should have planned for 90 minutes not 60.

Service was awful, we went pre theatre and were served our main courses at 7.10. We had to ask many times to be given our wine which was not left at the table. The card machine didn’t work properly and service was generally very poor and slow. Disappointed as have had some great meals there in the past but will not be going again.

Partner and I flew in that day and were exhausted and this was the perfect relaxing experience to kick start our vacation. Service was attentive, food was delicious, tea selection had variety, and ambience was upscale but welcoming. Definitely recommend the afternoon tea experience.

A very good experience and consistent with previous visits. The food was very good and well served and the wine excellent. Being a Monday lunch time, there was little atmosphere but it suited a quiet lunch arrangement. Value is reasonable when considering the location.

Service was good and server was spot on, tea was good and plenty of choices. Food was OK, bread was on the hard side. Or it had a funny texture, fillings were OK but needed a traditional egg along with the other choices. Scone where on the dry side but had plenty of cream and jam. The cake selection could have been alot better I feel. Compared with other afternoon teas that are around and I have tried it's not bad, cost is about average. Not the best but far from the worst, I feel the afternoon tea in London has lost its way over the last 5 years and dosent need people trying to put there own mark or twist on it. Go back to what people want please.

We had the set menu - delicious starters and mains which looked great and came in good portion sizes, but desserts were disappointing (little choice, very small portion of cake, and poor presentation). Service was polite and speedy.

Wonderful pre-dinner meal at Brumus. Two of us had the pre-theatre set menu and loved the 2 courses we have. In particular the steak was excellent. The third one of us had the veal schnitzel - also excellent. The service was outstanding, the ambience very relaxing and the view across Haymarket to the crowds gathering for Phantom of the Opera was fun. The price was a bit steep for a set menu which didn't include sides, but I suspect that is just the price of everything these days! Would highly recommend!

We enjoyed a wonderful meal at Brummus before going to the theater which is quite literally just across the road. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming making sure we had everything we needed at all times. Highly recommend for pre theater, post theater and the hotel it sits in is wonderful and a perfect location for all things with trafalgar square Leicester square, Covent garden all within walking distance. We will definitely be coming back to eat and stay here.

Met with friends for dinner prior to seeing Phantom at His Majesty's Theatre Haymarket. Lovely venue, welcoming and attentive staff and the food was delicious. We ate from the set menu which was great value and included a glass of bubbles.
