The bar man actually opened the restaurant early for us because of a glitch on open table and he was so lovely about it. Deffo recommend!

Very good food large portions and turns out I knew the person serving us from another wine bar restaurant that has closed down - excellent service

We ordered roast dinners and for the price they were WAY below par. Vegetables not roasted and very rubbery, potatoes not roasted well at all, not crispy on the outside and not soft in the middle. Portions were small and not well presented. My mum asked for no vegetables other than carrots on the plate, yet they didn't sort this and her food came with the cheese sauce from cauliflower cheese all over her plate which she doesn't like and it had touched all other food. The meals weren't hot so didn't want to spend more time having another whole roast cooked. The bought extra carrots which weren't even nice. Staff were nice enough but couldn't sort a simple order. Disappointing all round. Only decent thing was sticky toffee pudding. Not recommended at all.

Unfortunately we had a terrible lunch at Bumpkin Chelsea this week. My wife chose the Cod, which smelt as if it had been sitting on the side of the dock for a few days, I chose the pork belly which was seriously undercooked, the fat had not been allowed to render down, and the little meat that was present was stringy and unpleasant.

The deserts were better, but not much ... lovely English sparkling wine didn't really compensate for the poor food.

We went for lunch on a Tuesday which was extremely quiet. There was only one other table of people in the place. However, the staff were very welcoming and attentive. We were hoping for a British meal as advertised, but none of the staff were British - and the food felt more french than anything! The wine was very nice, though all bottles quite pricey. We spent over £100 for two mains, a shared side, a shared dessert, a bottle of wine and a bottle of water.

Not a bad Sunday Roast...Beef could be rare or medium rare. The vegetables could have a little bit more colour(as a roasted veg) and more seasoning. Would be great to have cauliflower cheese. However the Yorkshire pud was nice and so was the jus.

Food was poor and bad value for money. Starter salad had no dressing and tasted auwful - was mostly a pile of lentils with some cold cooked spinach and a few pieces of cheese - not something one expects in an apparently good restaurant and certainly not for £12! Main course was a tiny duck leg, floating in gravy full of large beans! shocking, and that for nearly £20!

Ambiance is very nice but the food has gone down a lot in quality. Have recommended it to a friend for lunch as used to have really good experience with Bumpkin in the past but this time round the food was bland and disappointing

The food was great. I can highly recommend the goat cheese starter. The restaurant itself was very cozy. The only thing that was a bit confusing to us was the two door entries.. we ended up knocking on the service entrance because we came from the wrong direction.

I love Bumpkin -and have enjoyed lunch there many times as it is close to my office.
The daily lunch special does make a difference -and I had told my 5 guests about this good value, but was surprised to learn that it was no longer offered. It was embarrassing for me and disappointing for my guests.
Please bring back the £10 lunch special -we will return if it does.

Coming to London from the States with my sisters to celebrate my Big Birthday, the first place I chose to eat was Bumpkin in Chelsea. Now I have to admit that I am a Fan of Melissa from Ladies Of London and this is the only reason I know of this place but it always looked so charming I knew it was a must on my list of To Do's. We were not disappointed, or should I say the only disappointment was not seeing Melissa (she moved to LA).

So my review. The restaurant is charming inside and out. We sat outside on a balmy Friday night. The waiters was, well charming, and very versed in the qualities of the menu. We all ordered something different and no-one was disappointed. The cauliflower quiche was YUMMY!
Everyone agreed it was a winner. I had the ribs and they were super delicious. The drinks and wine were excellent. Now to the Best! The desert. We weren't going to have any but decided to share the rhubarb tart. "What", exclaimed out waitress. " you aren't going to have the Sticky Toffee cake?" We'll I've never had such a thing, we're Americans remember, but she looked so shocked we knew we had to have it as well. OH MY GOSH! I am a convert to the sticky toffee lovers club. Amazing, awesome, so so yummy, as was the rhubarb tart. We left the restaurant, our first night in London stuffed and happy with sticky toffee on our mouths!

Have been to this Bumpkins a few times prior and it was fine. Lovely outdoor garden area which is why we chose it for brunch this past Sunday. Placed our 6 orders (primarily poached eggs on muffins) at 12 noon and the restaurant was still pretty much empty. We didn't receive our meal until 1:30. We had no drinks except a "fresh" orange juice (that wasn't) bottled water (because of lack of food had to keep flagging down our server to order more) and one, not great Bloody Mary. Too bad as this place is now off all of our lists.

This place really cares about the food it creates. Unfortunately we came on a weeknight after a long weekend, so the place was almost empty (which was a real surprise, considering the quality of the food). Ultimately, though, each dish we had was delicious and the portions were huge! Well worth the visit.

My husband and I were in London on our honeymoon and decided to stop by Bumpkin for brunch. The place was very empty and we were sat on the back patio which was lovely. The menu is pretty sparse and everything is a little overpriced. I had the cauliflower cheesecake. It's served cold and it's just too big of a slice for how bland it tastes. My husband had a spring salad which was basically a ton of spring peas in a bowl with a little bit of lettuce. It was strange. I was hoping this would be a good experience, but it was lacking in a lot of ways. I will say the waiter was very charming and nothing is lacking from the service standpoint here. Perhaps more of a dinner destination than a brunch one.

I'm sad to give a poor review. We love our Lady of London and sought this location our for that reason during our shopping day in Chelsea. The menu is a piece of paper and at an early lunch with only two other tables occupied, the restaurant has NO cider and didn't have the first 2 glasses of wine I asked for. Had we not traveled specifically to eat at Bumpkin, we would have left at that point and opted for a more functional option in the main drag. We stayed and it was ok. I think on television they use the menu from their other location in the shoot. A tad disappointed.

Great food. Poor service - arrived a 1pm.... ate food at 2:15.... Over an hour to get some bread and it was not busy. Constant asking for assistance or any attention. Shame. Fab little garden area just doesn't live up to service levels you would expect for that location or price.

Pity we didn't have the outdoor dining experience (but has potential!)

I came here for lunch with my daughter. She had the linguini and I had the burger. They were ok. Service was slow but pleasant. No frills and fancies here. Took 40 mins to arrive. We were initially seated inside and then when we saw they had an outside area ( but the covers drawn over) we asked to sit outside and were shown to a nice table but under some very hot heaters which were uncomfortable as it was a warm day. Just as were paying they pulled the roof covers back and what a wonderful outside eating space! it was glorious. We could see the potential for outside dining in the summer. Just a pity they didn't draw them back earlier!

Are you serious??? !!!
I cannot believe you have even sent me this???!!

As per the email sent to you on Sunday 26th, when I turned up at Bumpkin Chelsea it was closed!!
Front Door Locked and without them answering their phone.
How can your system allow people to book restaurants that are closed but more importantly your non existent customer service dept have not even realized and got in touch to apologize which is pathetic!

I went for lunch with a friend on a sunny Saturday afternoon. We had to wait a half hour to order lunch as the brunch menu was on until 1pm. The brunch menu looked very good but really only breakfast type food. We shared the barbecued ribs and chicken. The chicken was delicious but the ribs were a little dry and not much meet on the bones. It wasn't with £18. It was a shame that there was a private party in the garden so we had to sit inside. I have been to Bumkin a few times before and never have been disappointed and will go back.
