The Buona Sera story began back in 1989, when we opened a small restaurant here in
Battersea. Over the years, our customer base has grown, and our local regulars and fans of good Italian food from across London have watched us grow from a single shopfront to a bustling restaurant.
The key to our longevity and our success is, we believe, our authentic approach to Italian
cuisine and vibrant atmosphere – a combination that makes our guests feel very much like they’re at home.
Take a look at our menus and extensive wine selection, find out more about us, and make
your reservations. We look forward to seeing you at Buona Sera soon!
Good Italian food!
Nice food, good service
Delicious main courses. Excellent service. Not a fan of the cannoli though I’ve never had one before. I was a little bit chilly by the window but overall the 4 of us enjoyed a lovely evening.
Perfect for a quick bite to eat or a catch up with friends. A lively, relaxed atmosphere with great tasting food. Friendly, helpful staff but sometimes it took a while to get their attention as they were very busy.
Always very good value for money. Great for a mid week treat
I had thought we might be on our own, on a Monday lunchtime in January, but the restaurant was pleasantly busy. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was really good. Our only slight 'complaint' was that a half pint of draft lager was £4.80! Would definitely go again however!
I booked a dinner table for xmas eve, and showing it would be available for xmas table in Opentable, I even received texting msg on 23rd December and asked me to confirm. but actually it didn't open on xmas eve! really annoying, almost ruined my xmas eve dinner.
I love Buona Sera; the staff are always welcoming, always friendly, always accommodating....
The place is always buzzing and I have never been disappointed with any of my food.
Shall definitely come back, again.
I have known this place for 20 years, very close to my heart , lovely, perfect for parties , for families, a bit for everyone, you will always feel welcome herex
Not particularly friendly lady on the door who greeted us. Our waiter was nice.
Very mediocre food - mussels tasted frozen not fresh, bruschetta was insipid and disappointing. Pizza was ok, pasta with aubergine had very little aubergine or any other veg in it. Would not go again
Great food and reasonably priced wine. Just what we needed!
Service was incredibly slow and expensive for what you got. The chocolate pudding was stale and we had to repeatedly ask for our drinks.
I can only describe Buona Sera as "ok". The food was adequate without being exceptional and the service was competent. The menu was unexceptional. Very little else to say, there are better restaurants in the area.
We dined with 2 toddlers and they were so accommodating. High chairs and little portions, it was so welcoming. Which made it so relaxing and enjoyable for everyone. Spacious and relaxed, with tasty food
On arrival it took me some time to attract anyone’s attention, despite having booked.
The restaurant is scruffy and in need of an update. In our section of the premises the acoustics were terrible and it was hard to hear each other speak.
Service was good and the food OK. £30 for a bowl of pasta and a couple of drinks
Warm and friendly staff; excellent service and very good food.
Fun place nice food
What a disappointment! This has been one of our favorite restaurants. It was our 49th anniversary, so we decided that we would have our special dinner there. It was hardly special! Each of us thought our dinner was only so so, and the staff, which we’ve always found to be excellent, was, at best, inattentive. And, even though I had indicated on our reservation that it was a special occasion, they made no reference to our anniversary. Overall, the experience was a “C -.”
Great meal and atmosphere.
Had a great time and staff were superb!
Had a wonderful meal- good quality food, great service and even better value for money. Already booked my next slot in the restaurant
Went for a nice dinner with friends.
Food was very good and service excellent, the waitress let us taste the wine before we chose the one we wanted.
Fab evening at a long standing favourite, from when it opened in 1989. Any restaurant lasting that lomng has to be good and Buonasera is. Always good fun and good value.
Had a great meal and always love the garlic bread starters .lovely staff.
Food was very basic and not that tasty
I have eaten at Buona Sera before, many times and always had a good experience.
The food is always of good quality, "clean", fresh, well presented and very tasty.
Lots of choices too.
We had an excellent bottle of Barolo with our meal; my diner companion's favourite.
On other occasions I have drunk the Montpulciano, which I love.
It is a buzzy, happy place and a favourite for locals as well as people from far, as it lives up to it's reputation of a very welcoming and good value restaurant.
My companion is Italian and had not been here before, so I was a little "nervous" as to his opinion, but he was very complimentary and really enjoyed his meal and the whole experience.
The service too is always extremely courteous, welcoming, friendly and accommodating.
I shall continue to eat here on many more occasions and certainly recommend it.
Authentically styled food. Quick , friendly service. Airy atmosphere of fairly large restaurant but acoustics are such that screaming children particularly intrusive.
Very poor food, lacklustre service. Noisy and busy. Will not be back!
Good food and atmosphere. It is a good venue to meet up with friends.
Food was quite delayed but all good apart from that. Good portions 😛
Delicious food. Everyone enjoyed their dishes. Very nice staff - just the right level of attentiveness. It was a Monday perhaps that's why it was so very quiet and a bit cold.
Always a pleasure to eat at Buonasera, staff are really friendly and make you feel at home immediately. There have something for everyone on the menu, the specials are always interesting and the wine list complements it perfectly. Great value, buzzy ambience and just need to go there more!
This place was far too noisy and chaotic for me on a Friday night! It was so busy that service suffered.
The food was OK for the price. My salads lacked imagination and did not seem fresh. We did not have pizzas and perhaps that is what they are famous for.
Always very friendly. Food is delicious and very well priced. Good for meeting up with friends or date or family. Suits everything really!
I regulary visit this place, and the pizza is always great. The service was a little iffy - we had to ask for our bottle of wine a few times and we had to ask three different people for some fresh basil - I am not sure if they forgot each time, or just were not listening.
However the ambience and quality of the food makes up for what the service lacks.
Very good food for reasonable price, nice and friendly service. A bit noisy, but pleasant place.
We had a nice time at the restaurant, starting with a bottle of Tenuta Tremollito, which was their wine of the month.
We normally come here to eat pizza as they have really good pizzas, although their other plates are good too and I had Stinco D'Agnello which was lovely.
Staff were welcoming and friendly and the food was great. There was a delay between the first and second courses, but overall it was a good experience.
As always the food is fabulous and the service is warm and welcoming. We had such a lovely waitress, I wish I had got her name so that I could have mentioned her by name in this review. I have been to this restaurant many times in the past and it never fails to disappoint.
I've been here several times. It's a great, friendly local Italian that's been going for years. Very friendly staff. Usually quite busy. It has a nice regular menu with a good selection of specials. The food is usually lovely. It's a good choice for a weekend lunch
Never disappoints with excellent food at good value in a friendly atmosphere.
Attentive staff and house wines a re good value. All they need to do is get some craft ales in rather than the usual bland Italian lagers and it would be heaven.
