The food was beautiful and really good value. The cocktails were really cheap and strong, which was a pleasant surprise! Really good flavours and friendly, welcoming staff.
Absolutely AMAZING food! However the restaurant it self is quite confusing. I entered and I was given a hot dog menu so I was very confused if I entered the right part and the drinks were very stingy! But the food!!!
Main course was beautiful! However, starters were abysmal and the service was highly average.
Food and atmosphere were 5*
The service let the overall rating down but we put it down to some of the staff being new, but would recommend them getting to know the menu and listening properly when guests are ordering.
Food very tasty if a little over priced
Very noisy from adjoining Red Dog diner
Drinks also over priced
Service very good, very quick with orders and any extras
I think to survive long term it may have to rethink its pricing
But can’t fault the menu and the taste
Would return to try something else
Wife had Momos dumplings and said they were fabulous but £6:50 for three small dumplings
Very average food
Food wasn't great. All of us had upset stomachs following the meal and for the next 24 hours
Me and my partner booked a table here on valentines day, the service was amazing, and the food was exceptional! I would recommend here to anyone, and we will definatly be back, thank you very much burra khana x
This is one of the strangest dining experiences I've had. On the one hand, the food is really terrific. On the other, the attitude to customer service is abysmal.
I booked well in advance for a party of 5. We were a little early and were asked to wait at the bar, which was fine. Nobody at the bar seemed interested in serving us and when we did get to order a bottle of wine, we were told that hey had run out of wine glasses. We ended up drinking red wine from champagne flutes.
We waited and waited and had to go looking for staff three times to ask for our table. Eventually we were put at a table beside the bar. But this, bizarrely, was part of what seems to be a different restaurant, serving burgers, not Indian. We did get the Indian menu and ordered. And then nothing -- having booked the table for 8.30 and arrived before that, we just gave up at 9.45 and left.
At this point, a floor manager chased us out and said we couldn't leave without paying (we had paid for the wine). And suddenly announced that our food was ready. We were so hungry that we controlled our anger and went back in -- his time to the actual Indian restaurant we had booked. And the food was really excellent -- one of the best Indian meals I've had in England.
Wha a weird mixture of Fawlty Towers and excellence! My advice would be that if you do go, make sure you are seated at the time you've booked. If things seem to be going wrong, get out of there fast.
Ambience and vibe is nice just wish they had paid more attention to the actual taste of the food! Garlic naan not properly cooked, momos hard, saag paneer lacked spice! Cocktail not properly mixed. Contacted the restaurant on Instagram to ask if I can send them feedback as I blog about food but no response!
Another excellent meal at Burra-Khana, definitely my favourite Indian restaurant. The food is amazingly varied and everything is absolutely delicious. I recommend a Kati Roll to start followed by their grilled king prawns. The cocktails and friendly staff are also great. 10/10
We visited here for my partner's birthday there was of us and none of us had eaten here before. I have to say we were so happy with the food, it tasted phenomenal everything we had was amazing and everyone had the same opinion. It was £55 a couple but that wasn't bad considering we had two bottles of wine, beers and all starters and mains. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back. Thank you
The service was bad, a lot of tables around us were complaining and even the waitress apologised to us that they were slow and that it was due to complaints - which didn’t fill us with great confidence. The food was good - my boyfriend really enjoyed his meal but I couldn’t try his because it was covered in pine nuts which I am allergic to,, he ordered rice but nobody specified it would be covered in pinenuts- so that was disappointing. My kebab stated on the menu it came with chips but not chips INSIDE the kebab. If I was to go again, I would have to go as a last resort and on a week day. I also found it strange how some tables next to us were eating burgers and bbq food whereas we were there to eat indian. Overall not the best experience.
Too noisy, waited 20 minutes for drinks to arrive and food arrived after a long wait. Music from the restaurant joined to this one was too noisy and you could hear that louder than the music in the actual restaurant
The food was mind blowing! By far the best Indian me and my wife had outside of India. Highly recommended! The mutton samosas are the best samosas I've ever had, and that was just the appetizer.
The food here is absolutely delicious, anything you order will be beautifully seasoned, cooked, and presented, definitely exceeded my expectations even after people telling me it's good. Curry was amazing. Very flavourful! Extremely well priced and a great place to grab lunch. Incredibly welcoming and accommodating staff too. Definitely a must visit!!
Wow, just amazing, not one thing that I ordered was less than exquisite. The cocktails were great as well with really innovative flavours. Awesome experience all around. Will definitely come back.
The food was poor, I had a roti wrap. The wrap definitely wasn't roti, I don't know what it was made from but it was tastless and hard.
Masala chips were on the wrap which I've never seen before. I then realised if the fries were given on the side, it would have been a bigger portion.
I had the tikki for starter, two tiny tikki's.
Far too small portions, very mean!
Fantastic, charming restaurant with delicious and innovative food. We were seated and then the excellent service commenced.
Drinks delivered promptly and then the waiter proceeded to explain pretty much the entire menu to us with a summary of the dishes and what was popular and also his personal favourites. He was extremely helpful indeed. We ordered a lot of food and I have to say that it was all just so impressive and the flavours were "to die for"
There was an electrifying atmosphere and the service and dishes served up were absolutely top, top notch!!
A complete and brilliant experience that woke up the taste buds big time.
Limited menu. Chef would not or could not accommodate customer. Walked out and went to another venue.
The food was really delicious. There was a delay in bringing out our mains and the staff handled it very well, keeping us informed and comping us drinks. I'll definitely be back
The food was great but the service was awful. Not only did it take a while to be greeted, we waited 10 minutes to be asked for drinks (by this time we had already chosen food too). The popadoms actually came before our drinks did - and we only had two pints of beer, no fancy cocktails!
When the food came, it was nice and I would like to try that again. Unfortunately, when it came to paying, we were waiting at our table with cards on the receipt for at least 10 minutes, then when we stood at the front desk to hopefully draw attention to the fact that we wanted to pay, it was another 10-15 minutes until someone eventually gave us the card machine.
It wasn’t overly busy, it just seemed very understaffed. We had one waitress who walked past us three times saying that someone would be with us shortly, and then when another waitress came to us with the card machine, there was no apology for how long we were waiting! I would’ve walked out if I’d been waiting any longer as it was getting ridiculous. I also thought it was cheeky how they add a 5% tip onto the bill when the service we got wasn’t worthy. We paid it, as it was only a small amount, but I think outside of London, and for a party of two, this should be optional on the card machine.
I also think that going for an Indian when the table next to you is tucking into burgers and ribs from the Red Dog Saloon menu ruins the ambiance. If they are separate restaurants, then I think they should be kept separate.
I won’t be returning, which is a shame as the food was nice. The service however did leave a sour taste in my mouth.
Nice restaurant, great dishes and staff very helpful. Overall good experience.
I went on a Monday lunchtime so it was an opportunity to see what the chefs could do when business was leisurely, and it paid off. Some of the dishes were great, the rest were stunning! Nothing else like it in Nottingham. This is new-wave Indian cooking at its best.
Great new find in the centre of Nottingham. Really interesting combination of Indian street food (I had a Seekh Kati Roll of roast lamb wrapped in a paratha bread ad Vada Pao which is like an indian chip butty) and Indian grilled meats and curries. So much to try on the menu I will definitely be back! Really happy to have this place in town 10/10
Really disappointed. Staff didn’t really have a clue about the food, menu, drinks or service.
Being an Indian bbq restaurant I expected something special but it was simply like any other Indian and nothing different at all.
