Burrawang General Store
The food here was just stunning and beautifully presented. We where so impressed. Meals came quickly and desert was to die for
Charming atmosphere, great service. Varied, interesting menu. My lunch, home cooked beans, roasted beetroot etc was delicious. Excellent coffee.
What a great place for a leisurely lunch (or late breakfast). The food we chose was excellent, tasty and good portions, however we did find the menu rather limited for a lunch. The breakfast menu was much more expansive. Nonetheless we totally enjoyed ourselves and would be happy to return.
Had a beautiful spot in the sun on the front porch to share breakfast with my fiancé. From the moment we arrived the staff were genuine (particularly the young lady who cleaned the table as we waited, it was her first day and she had a lovely welcoming smile and approachability - well done, sweetheart!). Loved our meal, particularly loved the table ordering and payment process, a definite way of the future I think....Have always loved this spot, and we will be back! Thanks, Team!
Loved our experience at the Burrawang General Store. Thank you
The location is lovely, the interior is very attractive, the food and the young service staff are excellent. The welcome is a bit on the frosty, stanoverish, side even bearing in mind the COVID restrictions. A less austere first impression would make the experience a lot more enjoyable.
lovely place to escape the rush of the city. However the food was way overpriced. $28 for an average hamburger is not good value
Perfect brunch spot. The cornbread rules!! Grab a seat on the front porch if you can
Everything was excellent but I really don’t like the way you have to order your food prefer to have my order taken by a person
Beautifully finished establishment with great food to match.
Delightful and unassuming little place. Great food, great service and an all round pleasant dining experience.
From the moment we entered the cafe we were concerned,as the smell from used oil penetrated the whole atmosphere. We requested a lunch menu. The mains consisting of 3 items only, a salad, a hamburger and fish-which was unavailable. As we were trying to celebrate a birthday-there seemed little cause for celebration . The service was unprofessional and disappointing. Because this cafe was introduced to us by Open Table we assumed that there would be certain standards adhered to,which they most definitely were not.
The place was easy to find. The restaurant people were welcoming. The service was great and the food was delicious. It was a great experience.
Great service and timely delivery of meals. Great online ordering system.
Food was fresh and abundant. Highly recommend the Burrawang Cafe. Great ambience, Fantastic food. Not too pricey and staff warm, friendly and great service
We enjoyed our time at Burrawang General Store. The young lady serving us really made us comfortable. The food was really different and tasty. We had brunch there and ate our meal in the store itself, which had all sorts of curiosities in the shelves around us. After the meal we went out into the garden and all the flowering trees such as the cherry, camelias and plum were in bloom. We decided that we would definately come back and dine in the garden. BGS is a great place to dine and the whole town is worth walking around after a meal, especially in springtime.
This used to be one of my favourite brunch places but I did not have the same experience on Sunday.
Unfortunately there was zero customer service & atmosphere.
This prices have increased and the non contact menu and ordering system requires zero customer service.
On walking in for our booked table 3 waitresses looked at us and turned the other way.
We requested some contact and was informed by the manager they were very busy, this cafe is usually at double the capacity and copes beautifully.
A smile and little customer service goes a long way.
Covid restrictions does not mean lack of service.,
Food was great but I thought the sides like avocado for $6 was a bit expensive. Also you are ask to stand at the door to be seated but you are left there looking awkward as the staff walks pass you. They need to at least acknowledge you & sat “someone will be with you shortly”
Really tastey and flavoursome food (breakfast). Excellent coffee and freshly made green juice. Impressive COVID-SAFE measures in place.
Last time we came the food was much better and more options including vegan options
The food selection was great and the service was quick.
We love this place and look forward to when they can re open for Lunch and Dinner
A lovely spot for breakfast. Plenty of space, not too busy for a Saturday morning. Helpful staff. Limited choice on breakfast menu and new digital ordering system for Covid19 was a good idea, but a bit of a hassle. Perhaps instructions written on the wall, as we were unsure about the process. Also, told by a staff member we could pay direct to the cafe, but later were told we had to pay using the digital app, which incurred a service fee. Hopefully this is a temporary measure as it changed the dining experience and made it less personal.
A lovely spot and we will return.
Friendly staff with good food. Loved the Lime Millshake 😍
Delicious home style cooked meals. I will be back!!!
Look no further, good unpretentious food, friendly staff. Couldn’t ask for more!
The room is freezing cold. The food comes on freezing cold plates and therefore goes cold immediately. The new phone tap ordering system is a nightmare and is so unfriendly. As locals we’ve persisted but it hasn’t improved and so we’ve decided not to go back. Such a shame, as the food is great.
A lovely place for a meal. Great food and atmosphere. The garden out the back is very pretty and worth exploring.
Very nice, remote location. Worth a visit. Would definitely come again.
The menu is interesting and the quality of the food excellent.
Fresh ingredients not over cooked and well presented.
The waiting staff attention was excellent.
Cute place that has been restored very nicely. Staff were very friendly.
Relaxed, friendly atmosphere and wonderful historic decor. Great menu with many awesome sounding options. Our lunch was delicious, I'll be back for sure!
The best steak sandwich ever! So tender it melted in my mouth and the sweet potato chips were delicious. Great service too!
Loved that I could book a table online. Each of us had something different and we were all happy with our choices. Great vegetarian options too. Can't wait to visit again.
A wonderful cafe with great service, food and style. We were seated in the loft area and loved it. We will definitely be back very soon. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality.
This is a lovely venue. The food is good but reasonably expensive for what it is. It is let down by the apparently poorly trained staff. A smile to two wouldn’t go astray!
Gorgeous old general store with lovely original facade and interior. Thoroughly enjoyed our morning tea and highly recommend it.
Food was great. Good range that satisfied vegetarians in group as well as carnivores. Very friendly, helpful staff.
We go there almost daily because it is such a great cafe in all respects. Erica is a brilliant host, her staff are very friendly and competent, the building is historic and charming, the food is first class and the coffee is a must every morning. Highly recommended.

Initially my experience with the store was fantastic, amazing Chai Latte. The staff were super friendly! It all took a turn downhill when my friend received her order. Massive chunk of mould under one of the flowers on her eggs benedict. Like huge. A heaped teaspoon of mould. She took it back and was offered a free coffee, which she declined. The staff brought out her fresh eggs and said it was free. All good. Except that it made me question the quality of my own food. I spent my meal scouring my breakfast rice for mould... Which isn't fantastic. Add on top of that that the $6 cake muffin my friend got had a big chunk of flour in the middle and looked as dry as the saharah desert and we have ourselves a pretty average experience. My food was fine, but what happened to her really put me off. I doubt I will be going back any time soon.
