Busaba Bangkok Thai – Oxford Circus
Fifteen years on, Busaba still offers a much coveted, flavoursome selection of freshly prepared salads, stir fries and curries. The menu also features Asian-inspired juices and smoothies, as well as a simple yet selective wine list.
The food wasn’t quite up to the mark or maybe it’s because vegetarian food doesn’t deserve to be flavourful just something to put on the menu with a green leaf!
We had a lovely dinner at the restraint . The food was delicious and the staff did a great job in accommodating us .
Great service dealing with pregnancy dietary requirements. They did however cook the wrong dish but have it to us for free
It was a pleasant restaurant and the chicken pad Thai was really good.
Good food in a place with a great atmosphere
Great food, good atmosphere and nice staff. I would recommend.
I am Lactose intolerant and the discussion over this went well, however I am also Diabetic and since first courses are normally sugar free in Thai food we did not ask about this, however it was not until we were half way through we realised that the noodles were really packed with sugar both adversely affecting my blood sugar levels and the taste of the food. In addition when we go to a non english restaurant we hope to hear the music of that country to produce a local and soothing atmosphere when in fact there was poor quality american bang bang music running all the time.
Very busy place with upbeat vibe. The food was outstanding
Very nice place and atmosphere.
Service so so.
Poor service - not their fault but they were understaffed and had to get the attention of waiters all the time.
Starters took 35mins before they came.
Food was good to be fair when it did arrive.
The food was tasty. It was the service that was complete crap. I had to ask where the rest of our order was and then was told one dish wasn’t available anymore and the other was being prepared (fried prawns don’t take 30minutes). Getting service was like flagging down a cab in Piccadilly Circus on a Saturday night.
This was their second chance as the first time, I went in and it was dead. They sat me, and after waiting twenty minutes without any human contact, I left. It’s unfortunate, really. The food was good. But because it is such a pain to get it, I will not return.
Unfortunately there was a mistake on our order so it took almost an hour for the food to arrive at which time we needed to bolt down the food and then rush to our theatre engagement. It spoilt the first part of our evening. The staff were dismissive and cavalier and didn't seem to want to take ownership of the problem. Not only that I ordered a vegetarian green curry which only had 4 pieces of hard, undercooked vegetables in it. Hardly worth paying £12 for. I wont be going back.
Had run out of many dishes by the time we arrived (9pm)
For me, Busaba's food has been fairly good over the years (really like the calamari). A good go-to restaurant for informal get-togethers.
Far too overpriced for what you get. Cannot fault the staff or service however was very disappointed with my grilled beef, which cost almost £11 and ended up being 5 slivers of overcooked beef. The meatiest part of the dish was the spring onions! Additionally disappointing was the 2 & a half wings I ordered for a starter (£7). Flavours were nice but severely lacking in satisfaction. Won't be returning.
I usually dine often at other Branches, this specific one could do with a bit of re-training. The only positive thing was our waitress.
Like the other locations good Thai Street food at reasonable prices. Service poor, not knowledgeable, but friendly.
Lovely fresh food, fast service, great front of house staff. We went early lunch so it wasn't too busy intially but even with extra people coming in there was no dip in service
Feels like the food is worse than it used to be. Few dishes missing. All in all mediocre.
Busaba was great, as always. The only issue was that they brought out our starters and mains at the same time. We would have much preferred a bit more relaxed timing, but suspect that as it was lunch, they thought they were doing the right thing. Will ensure I mention it next time! Our food was lovely! Wish they had a better choice of white wines.
This wasn’t the first time we’ve been to this restaurant and usually the food is quite nice. Last night all the dishes were bad, not sure why.
Good food and resonable price
Delicious food! Highly recommend. Lovely friendly staff too.
Food was not other branches, cold hard rice, Green curry had a 20 slices of thick cut chilli instead of other veg.
The food was great, I would especially recommend the egg starter (forgot the name but it's 2 boiled eggs in sauce, tastes amazing). My 2 down points are 1) the app didn't work and they were showcasing an offer on the placemats to get 5% off if you use the app, pretty disappointing to find out when we asked for the bill we couldn't get the discount, and 2) all the seats are around big square sharer tables or rows of 4 by the window so definitely wouldn't recommend for a date or special occasion. You might end up centimeters away from strangers which is a pet peeve of mine when I want to catch up with a friend with a bit of space.
ok food, nothing very special though the ambiance is good. the portion is very small. I would go somewhere else next time. I don't recommend.
Atmosphere was good, service was good, but food was really bad - old duck, over cooked noodles and way to salty. Expensive for the quality of food that was provided - I'm dissapointed
Tutto veramente ottimo! Bravi e onesti!
We ordered from the set menu. Starter and main arrived at the same time. Food was tasty.
Barely any staff. Manager was more interested in moaning about his team than anything else.
Its a shame my date wasn't as good as the food, Busaba never fails to disappoint
Really good food, the ambience was different, really enjoyed the window seat
The food was way to spicy, but good overall. The waitress was very cute, even though she had quite a lot to do with our table and all the kids. It’s a bit weird that starters and mains come all together, which meant the table was crammed and you didn’t where to start. Next time I’d tell them to please wait with the mains!
The service was friendly and professional and the food was authentic and very tasty but the portion was very small. The Chilli Prawn dish tasted excellent but I was still hungry after I had eaten it. The Classic Pad Thai was also very tasty but my friend was also still hungry after she had eaten it. Busaba is a spacious, sophisticated, relaxing restaurant and is ideal for any occasion. We really enjoyed the food.
Lovely food and ambience. Would definitely recommend.
Nice staff and great location. Great for an easy meal in central.
The service was friendly but we not neglected after the first half an hour. Had to keep flagging waiters for attention even though only half the seats were taken that night. Food was decent, not overly generous portions but it tasted nice. Not sure I’d go back.
Good, reliable chain restaurant - always a safe bet
Great food. Lively atmosphere. Group dining. Lovely casual fare. Highly recommend. Delicious!
they didn't see our reservation, although I did it 24 hours before. opentable problem, they tried everything to arrange a table for us
