Named after the small huts that Burgundy winegrowers have within their vineyards, the feel of the restaurant is that of a traditional local bistro in the French countryside. With traditional dishes and modern twists, the seasonal menu and daily specials will showcase the very best ingredients.
Open Monday to Friday for lunch and dinner, Cabotte also has two Private Dining Rooms available for exclusive hire for groups between 6 and 40 people. With menus available for sit-down, canape parties or walkaround tasting events, the Central location is ideal for any corporate or social occasions.
Excellent special for the day! Had a fantastic time and all on time!
Took the boyfriend here for his birthday, shame it has taken so long to get here. The menu was well priced, and some lovely little touches that really raised the bar. But I was really here for he wine, and the list did not disappoint. Amiga did a great job as sommelier selecting a stunning little number in Robert Groffier’s gevry chambertin les seivrees 2011 - the last bottle I am afraid! We had oysters and duck eggs with asparagus as starters followed by lamb and chicken two ways, one as a delicious pie and one breast with truffles, but not too overpowering. A 5 cheese plate helped finish the wine off.
Good food but small portions. Small attentive at first but when seated at table, I took them a while to serve us.
Excellent choices of wine willing perfectly matched the food we ate.
Very attentive staff and very good service
Service levels were poor both for food and wine. Often we had to ask for attention. Choosing the wine was not that smooth, and on two occasions they then didn’t have what we had chosen. However food was very good.
Reassuring expensive. Vigil is a fantastic host and super knowledgeable about food and wine.
I dined by myself at the bar and it was a perfect experience from start to finish. Lovely, kind staff, perfect and exciting food and the wine list is clearly the major draw. The Antoine Jobard flight was moving. Thank you everyone for a perfect evening.
A really nice place for a good and quiet City lunch.
we went there for a business lunch. It was surprisingly quiet so conversation was easy. Waiters were attentive and quick, food was outstanding - small portions but with finesse. Prices were not cheap but given the quality actually more than acceptable.
It’s a cracking place to eat, great food, great wine list and really enjoyable experience and good value for money! Always a pleasure and will be back there again soon
Easily accessible by public transport and in the historic central City of London, the restaurant has a welcoming ambience and friendly, attentive service. The French-style cuisine is delicious and well-presented in a contemporary way. Staff are expert in wines of which there is a wide spectrum to chose - with modest quantities to hand if you have a meeting to attend. Strongly recommended.
Heard about Cabotte through a family member. Booked lunch for three, front of house team greeted all of us with enthusiasm and purpose. Lunch menu great choice and variety of dishes, the ones we had were beautifully prepared, cooked to perfection, fresh and thoughtly plated. The sommelier was helpful and knowledgeable in reccomending an excellent, Bourgogne Blanc,
As always we were well received, well looked after. Food was delicious and wines excellent
Really good burgundy centric restaurant. Rustic, friendly and great quality. Lovely burgundy wine list, price reasonable . Great for business lunch or dinner, or mid afternoon glass of vino.
This was supposed to be a birthday celebration but it never felt at all special. It was noisy and we had very little room squashed next to a large work outing. The food choice was not great. The service was OK but not particularly warm. i wouldn't recommend it .
The dinner was a Birthday celebration and notified on booking - zero recognition by Cabotte ! Very disappointing- had to attract a waiter to order an aperitif (only 2 tables at that time were occupied) on leaving we had to search for our coats - the restaurant put them there so not sure why they could not return them ? Overall food and wine very good - but could do so much better on service ....... would not rush back !!
i loved the place and hope we will come back there. one comment:: it was a bit too noisy....
One my favourite places in the City, if not THE favourite. Warm welcome and efficient service. Excellent food and a wine list to die for! Cannot recommend this place highly enough.
The wine service was terrible. Many of the wines on the list were not available but had not been lined through. Really poor wine service
High quality bistro style food with an incredible burgundy focussed wine list which covers all the villages and price levels
Fresh, decadent, classy, romantic food and ambience
this is the best restaurant in London. the raw ingredients of the food are always fresh and never over cooked. nothing is wasted with edible flowers or frothy flowers. it is just great bistro cuisine wit the best wine list in town; what more could one want?!
A first visit to Cabotte left a feeling of disappointment. Some fine work in the kitchen was let down by front of house sloppiness bordering on arrogance: an unfortunate manner by the staff welcoming us; a cavalier approach once we were seated; and a lack of attention to detail, eg wine brought at the wrong times, orders needing repeating more than once, and a coffee order at the end of dinner ignored and overlooked. In addition, for a restaurant that (rightly) prides itself on its comprehensive Burgundy wine list, the sommelier was irritatingly unengaged and unforthcoming. To set up anywhere in the Square Mile these days is a brave move deserving of encouragement, but poor service in a noisy room at these prices will not be rewarded for long. The chef should be justifiably annoyed that his good work backstage is so badly let down by those at the customer-facing end of the business. PerM
Fantastic food (British oysters truly fantastic) and staff very helpful / chilled. Nothing to complain about.
Short wine list works very well, long wine list fantastic but pushes the boundaries!
Just very good food served by people who understood it
We always have a sensational lunch at Cabotte. The food, wine and service are,in our opinion, the best in the city. Our lunch this time however was the finest yet. Incredible food and our guests left saying it was unforgettable. Given how competitive the market is right now this was some achievement. Thanks and well done to everyone who helped make it so special.
Nice food but not so tasty for a French restaurant. My mackerel starter was accompanied by loads of capers and my sea bass had turnips which was unusual but not very flavoursome. Restaurant was busy and had run out of some dishes but they offered alternatives. My partners crab and sea bream tartare was ok but his venison main was delicious and tender.
Food was excellent: gorgeous crab & sea bream tatami and superb venison.
Wine: BYO allows friends to surprise!
Excellent food and wine with top service!
Cabotte is very good ; good food and exceptional wine list with Burgundy dominating ; exceptional selection of burgundy wine fairly priced.
Ambient service, casual and laid-back yet professional attitude combined with an ambitious and reasonably priced wine list as well as an innovative cuisine. Well worth the detour from the beaten track.
Our best meal in London. Great ambience, excellent wine list and service. Plan to return on our next visit. Well done!
Excellent service and fantastic food.
Exactly what we wanted... amazing wine with great food. Service was attentive and really knowledgeable. Only thing is the tables are quite huddled so you definitely feel ‘included’ in some neighbouring conversations!
Cabotte is an excellent city venue, well suited to business dinners. The food is excellent and the service attentive.
Wonderful food & wine. One of a kind. The wine flights are of great quality and value.
Lovely space, decor, lighting and ambience. Attentive service- although we sat with food in front of us waiting for the wine we ordered to be opened and delivered to the table. Food is well executed and right at the upper limit of seasoning. Another grain of salt would have tipped it over (and I LOVE salt!)
