Interesting place and a bit different - nice side dishes and the steak had superb flavour. Will definitely go back. Staff friendly. Went with a friend and had an early slot but not rushed out so had the opportunity to talk after the meal. Would recommend.
Food is ok, but it's not a lot (only a piece of meat and some fries, no veggies ) and overpriced. The meat was prepared well, but nothing special. Did expect more from previous reviews and looking at the price.
Great place to try!
Lovely venue for a birthday celebration with a group of friends. We were made to feel very welcome and not rushed at all considering it was a Saturday night.
This was our 2nd time at Caco and Co. This is a Portuguese restaurant (Madeira). Excellent starters, with very large portions. I particularly like the combination of cheese with a very dark complex honey for the starter, along with the pumpking jam, and Bolo do caco (round circular bread, very tasty, and a specialty at this restaurant). My friend for the main had picanha steaks, which was a LOT of food, and he said very tender. I had the sea bream--which was a tad on the salty side, but the potatoes and brocoli were excellent. Dessert was Ricotta cheese ice cream with honey & almonds. For me, this restaurant excels in appetizers and desserts; the mains are good, but not at the same level of excellence as the appetizers. I think what I'd love to see would be a selection of appetizers as a 'plate as they do so well with these. Service was friendly and professional. Strongly recommend this restaurant.
Small, modern, clean cafe with friendly service. Good for a quick lunch.
The service was amazing and food super delicious, we will definitely be returning and telling our friends about this little restaurant. Please open one in Blackheath / Greenwich 😊
Food overpriced, ordered large 300g steak but got more like 150g
Amazing food, great service!
The wine was served at the right temperature and we even got a free desert!
It was a great surprise to have food from Madeira Island at Blackfriars. Staff very friendly helped a lot too! Portions for dinner are BIG so be careful on how many starters (which are small) you order. I will definitely come back!
Second time here and I still love it! Every dish sounds so good it’s so hard to choose! Great food and atmosphere
Great sardines if you ask for them
portugese wine is soft and elegant
service is v good
steak burger outstanding
Excellent service from Portuguese team. Good choice of food. Lovely homemade bread.
We went to the one in Blackfriars, what a hidden gem. The food was out of this world, and the owners super friendly. Make sure you give yourself plenty of time, if going to the theater, and just enjoy :-)
This was our first visit to Caco and Co and enjoyable it was. It is a friendly, laidback establishment with decent food that seems authentically Portuguese. It was fairly empty the evening we were there so I hope they have busier evenings. They deserve to get some support. It doesn't have the most promising position but is worth the visit.
Had the best lunch here! The staff were incredibly nice and lovely!
One of those small places that lack the ambiance but serves nice authentic delicious food. Great for food but need to improve the atmosphere.
Felt like being back in Portugal. Great meat, lovely service.
Lovely place, good service and most importantly really good food. It was simple and well executed and tasty. We will certainly dine here another time. :)
The quality of the produce is good and the value for money is good too.
It does require a little more time to settle in, as the quality of service does require a little bit of a touch up.
Once I knew Caco & Co had opened a branch in Blackfriars, I couldn't wait to try it and invited a few work colleagues to come along. The food was carefully cooked and tasted as good or better than any restaurant in Portugal. Probably because it's not very well known yet, there weren't many customers, so we got the downstairs room all to ourselves. There was contemporary Portuguese music playing on the radio, which provided great conversation opportunities.
Great food and service in a friendly, local, Portugese restaurant. Only been opened a month. Great value for the steak prego. We had the special offer of a bucket of beers (6) and two pregos with sweet potato fries for £15. Add on to that liquor coffees and we had a great evening for just over £20.
Great service, great place but was a little bit disappointed with the food.
The food was well overpriced for what was being served.
Just under £10 pounds for a skewer with two small mushrooms a couple pieces of bell peppers and some bits of onion, not to mention the rest.......
A little hidden gem. Excellent food, amazing service. Try the tuna prego!
