We thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas meal at Cafe 21 (York). The meal was well cooked, plentiful, the service was exceptionally good and there was plenty to choose from. Hopefully next year (2021) when they can stay open without the constant Covic-19 tier closing and opening and being a new cafe/restaurant to York, a proper Christmas menu can be provided.
Cafe 21 (York) was very Covid-19 secure and both staff and Manager made us very welcomed, enabling us to enjoy our meal. Would definately visit again either for a main meal or mid-morning / mid-afternoon break.
I had a very nice omelette , with some thin chips, never had them before, not a chip what Id chose, but they came with the omelette, My meal was not filling for me, But even worse my wife ordered a salad (Big Mistake) Such a small dish, Even for my wife who is not a big eater, I think the salad was £13 ish, Not worth £5, After we left we went to a locally run cafe for our main meal , Very nice too, We were booked in to Cafe 21 @ Boxing day but cancelled we would not go back.
The menu is misleading, we thought we would have 3 types of bread in the breakfast basket but were only served one. When questioned the staff didn’t seem to understand the menu. Disappointing
Service was superb and the food was lovely. Extra measures and very safe too.
Every bit as good as Newcastle, turkey was excellent. I will be back so will my family when they get out of lockdown. Cheers and thanks for a wonderful lunch
