Visited while on holiday in region. Warm welcome and excellent service from a team of waitresses. Every waitress was very attentive and the food was amazing. We had authentic French dishes which were all excellent. Thanks to all the staff for a very nice meal Ina friendly and relaxing ambience.

It seemed very children friendly today which was lovely. The service was slower but as we were not in a rush we weren't overly bothered

Cafe Rouge on our visit was quiet so the ambience, busy environment buzz was lost, that said everything else worked. I will go again

Always enjoy it here although it's very expensive now and dining for two with a couple of a drinks exceeds £50-£60. Set menu good value. 10 olives for £3.50 is a rip off by the way.

The staff were very helpful. The food arrived promptly and was well-presented. We had a starter and main course and that was more than adequate. We did not feel like a dessert after that! Would definitely recommend to others.

Overall a good evening but they did not have our booking through open table and they were quite busy. They move a few tables and squeezed us in but we're not going to until I showed them my booking confirmation. We waiting quite a while for staters but once it got going all was good. They did offer our first round of drinks in compensation. Food was good and the restaurant had a good atmosphere.

Unfortunately, the food was not as tasty as I wanted it to be. My starter of pate was delicious as were the other guest's starters but all four main courses were disappointing . Good attentive service from a young helpful waitress. May not be our choice of restaurant next time.

We booked a table for 6-30pm on Saturday evening and we were late by about ten minutes for which we apologised. We did not like the table they showed us to and asked to be seated somewhere else, which they did. My husband and I both ordered the lamb shank off the specials menu. There was not much meat on the shank and it was a bit tough. The mash was nice and the red cabbage which was served with it was also nice but the lamb seemed a bit drowned in it. Not good value for money and the second time we have not been pleased with the food.

CR

My party of four decided to dine at Cafe Rouge in Maidstone to celebrate a family birthday. The Bread & Nibbles that we ordered were very tasty and went down well. For main course, three of us ordered fillet steak with fries and the fourth ordered breaded hake fillet with fries.
When the four meals arrived, all the fries were cold. We told the manager who said she didn't want to take the meals back and that she would order some extra fries. These eventually arrived after about ten minutes, which left the diner with the fish eating fish on its own before it too got cold and likewise for the people with the steak. One of the steaks was requested to be cooked medium, but when it arrived it was well done and all three steaks looked dry. It was almost as if the plates had been left on the side in the kitchen after dishing up and had been forgotten.
We all ordered a sweet, two of which were good. However the others, which were 2 x 2 scoops of ice cream for a costly total of £9 were literally dropped into a glass without even a tuile or other embellishment in sight.
We felt that the food was not very well presented. It could have been understandable if the restaurant was busy, but it was a long way from it. The staff were very friendly and obliging and the manager gave us a discount of £40, but the chef (I use the term loosely) needs speaking to or replacing. It was still a very disappointing experience on what should have been an enjoyable family outing in a restaurant whose prices are near top of the range for food that is mediocre.

it was disappointing and noisy. Although lunchtime was busy, we still waited quite a while to be served. Our server didn't ask whether we were ok and weren't very attentive.

Our daughter was performing at the theatre opposite the restaurant
We booked a table and my husband ordered the meals prior to my daughter coming out for a break between the 2 shows .
The meals came without my daughter's meal so we had to wait 15 more minutes, at which point she had 15 minutes to eat and go back on stage !
Poor service mainly due to staff I think
We always go to cafe rouge in blue water and had great service there !!
