Edinburgh's hidden gem! Traditional oyster bar and restaurant serving fine food and a great selection of continental lagers, beers and local ales.

** Please note all bookings are for our restaurant, we offer first come first served for drinks in our bar area.

*** Please note due to licencing restrictions under 18's are not permitted in the main bar, we can seat under 18's and over 5's in the restaurant for dining. We cannot allow under 18's in the restaurant after 10pm.

**** As we are a listed building we do not have Accessible toilets on the ground floor.

    Wonderful history building Friendly helpful staff Menu was on creased paper which also had a stain Nice choice on wine list Crab butter and crab were delicious Scallops were over cooked Fish and chips were lovely Not sure what crispy egg added to fish pie as firm yolk and rather large in a pie with too much potato Bathroom stall did not have paper when went in also

    Lovely venue,just little bits would make it excellent.Food was served with excellent time between courses but spillages not cleaned up. Not just my tablet but the next as well.Lovely choice of menu .

    Lovely traditional venue which is popular..even on a Monday. Disappointing as had run out of Prosecco?!…and our first choice of food wasn’t available.

    Party of 6 Started off great and everyone enjoyed their starters. After that it was downhill all the way. Took a long time for main course to come out . Ribeye steak were of very poor quality, it was tough. Plate of kale as green vegetable, they were dried and hard. No half time check by staff at all. Looked like they were short staff. Overall very poor experience.
