Cafe Spice Namaste is back, re-emerging bolder and better than we ever were. Expect many of the Indian culinary classics from the incomparable Cyrus Todiwala, but also some unexpected treats. We are a vibrant neighbourhood restaurant now, perched at the edge of Royal Albert Wharf in the famous Docklands, and we welcome the world to our new home.

COMING TO CAFÉ SPICE NAMASTÉ FROM GALLIONS REACH DLR STATION As you exit the station, turn left at Co-Op walk up to the traffic lights turn right on to Gallions Road. Turn left on to Wallis Walk and right on to Shackleton Way then immediate right towards car park on to Hudson Way. You will see a footbridge at the front. We are exactly across the bridge. The walk should take approximately 4-5 minutes. The Elizabeth Line is now open, making West London feel a lot closer to the Royal Docks. Getting off at Custom House and taking the DLR to Gallions Reach can take between 20 and 40 minutes, depending on where you board. I recently had a fantastic experience at Café Spice Namasté in East London! The staff was amazing—friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable. They took the time to explain the menu and offer recommendations, and their pride in the food they were serving was evident. We made a long trek from Woking to East London and it was worth it. Service was attentive throughout. Food was in ‘small plates’ like Indian tapas perhaps?? And was superb: meat and fish dishes, and veggie dishes all carefully prepared and imaginatively presented. Beetroot and coconut samosas were so good we ordered them again! Apple crumble samosa for dessert was exquisite. Coffee was extremely smooth too but I really wanted a bigger cup!

Great food, beautiful location by the docks. The host Pervin and her husband Cyrus are extremely welcoming and friendly. Great place to enjoy a Saturday/ Sunday brunch with family and friends. Just a short 5 min walk from Galleons Reach DLR station. Easily accessible from central London via Elizabeth line to customs house excel. Will definitely visit again soon! Great Value for Money

The best Indian I ever been too. Food world class, staff and service exceptional and if you want proper indian food then don't bother looking elsewhere. Great place for family, couples and friends to enjoy the best food which is cooked exceptionally by the best indian chef!!! Best place to have party or to have them cater for any events!

We were unsure as to what of the many dishes we would try. Especially as we are not local to the restaurant, returning will not be as often as we would like We decided on the taster menu to sample different flavours. We were not disappointed in any way.

Incredible food, incredible location and incredibly friendly and accommodating hosts. I can't count the number of times I've been back, the food is always incredible (saying this as a parsee). Cyrus and Pervin are always so friendly - they make you feel as if you were at home among family. I'd recommend the whole menu - our favourites were the beetroot and coconut samosa chaat and the lamb dhansaak.

Cyrus has always been a good chef. But last night he joined the ranks of great Indian Chefs. Cafe Spice Namasté is now on a par with Chutney Mary in London and The Indian Accent in Delhi. You won’t get chicken tikka masala but you will enjoy genuine Indian food based on Cyrus deep and varied knowledge of Indian cuisine. Sometimes even with a modern twist. And sometimes with a talk about what you are eating. He is a fascinating speaker and willing to share his secrets with those of us who aspire to knocking off his top spot. Some hopes! Whenever I think I am there he pulls something new out of the hat. Great raw materials rule and Cyrus supports rare breeds and small producers. Try his ice cream made specially for Cafe Spice. The view of the old Royal Docks is great at sunset. Mrs Todiwalla, Pervin leads the front of house with warmth, a smile and skill and a team of long term staff who are super friendly and recognise old friends and welcome new ones. However busy they are they seem to have time and a smile for everyone. There is even a Tamil in the open kitchen and he stops work for me to practice my basic Tamil. And prices are remarkably reasonable so go quickly before Cyrus gets the Michelin star he deserves and prices are forced up.

On our first visit to the restaurant, we found lovely friendly staff, excellent food and fantastic location overlooking the river. We also met Mr Todiwala and his wife who were so friendly which enhanced a lovely experience. This will become our regular restaurant for Indian food

From start to finish the experience was memorable. Service was prompt without being overbearing, knowledge of staff was spot on. Food was amazing and plentiful. The owner came out , from the kitchen, to speak and sign a book, chatted for a good 20 minutes, down to earth and welcoming…….i would highly recommend.
