Last meal before house arrest
A great experience and top service. Cyrus is a wonderful host & felt at home.
Went to this restaurant for the first time as a treat for our wedding anniversary and can only say excellent. It's set in a lovely old building which definitely enhances the atmosphere and makes for a more pleasurable evening. The staff were very friendly regularly checking that everything was good without being over intrusive. Also I suspect it was the owners who came round chatting to customer which was a nice touch. As for the food it was amazing. Lovely flavours without bring overpowering. Will definitely go back if in the area again.
Very good service. The waiter we had was very professional. The food came out in good time, was hot and very tasty. Even the owners came to our table afterwards to make sure everything was ok which was a nice touch
Simply one of the best Indian restaurants in the UK, let alone London.
Great food, great service and great night with friends
Interesting but a little underwhelmed. Starters very good had a issue with undercooked fish main, however the staff dealt with this very well
Quite disappointing given the very expensive cost of the menu. Food was good but a bill of £65 for two was pretty excessive for what we had, in our view.
Lovely evening spent at cafe spice - beautiful food as ever and the staff went out of their way to make us feel safe
Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed and after a brief chat seated in an hour excellent area of the restaurant. A few questions to the waiter and some very helpful advice and off we went. The food was nothing short of outstanding and the presentation of interlocking crockery made evening of sharing. I would highly recommend and will be visiting again when next in the area.
Lovely tasty curry!
Whilst the staff were super friendly and helpful, I felt somewhat disappointed with most of the dishes we tried. We had the Cafe Spice Namaste Special sharing platter to start with but most of the items lacked flavour and had no real hit. We then had the paneer tikka, duck sausages with spicy mash, butter chicken and another spicy chicken dish but again, none of them made an impression except the duck sausages & mash - that was lovely. The meal came to just over £100 which seemed ok considering the number of dishes we had along with 2 beers and 2 mango lassis. Cyrus also made an appearance from the kitchen and visited a couple of tables (not ours) but to be honest, I couldn’t see why this restaurant has been awarded the Michelin BIB Gourmand award, sorry!
This is our go-to Indian - unsurpassed quality & inventive. We love the new menu & had a fabulous meal for my husband's birthday including some specials - like the venison shank which was truly superb!
It saddens me to write this, but the rating is low due to having to wait over a hour from ordering to getting food. If a restaurant knows it will be busy on a Saturday, then maybe it would be better not to book or take every table at the same time.
Overall, The prices are very reasonable and our waiter was affable and charming.
The food (both omni and veggie) was superb - the kitchen uses multitude more complex spices than many other venues.
We also liked the small plates concept which when added to a thali means a lot of small tasty dishes and avoids the ‘too much rice’ syndrome of many places. (And also means a wonderful range of flavours). Well done for that!
However, ordering at 19h10 and not getting any food (except popadoms) until over a hour later was a real deal breaker. We loved the food, and the waiters were good, but the long long wait was painful, and the space in itself is not that charming (for that kind of wait).
One tip: nearby Monories car park is £3.50 all night on weekend evenings.
Attentive service and delicious food
Food was very good, the brussel sprouts were impressive, but very pricy. A naan bread for£5?
Different and enjoyable culinary experience. Old school dining room, new school menu.
Actually felt like we were in India ! Except the food was fabulous. !
Really amazing creative food, lovely service. A wonderful evening.
Great service and food!
A fantastic night, the restaurant spoiled us on our first anniversary.
Second visit and again a very good experience. Imaginative indian cooking using some interesting ingredients.
As ever cafe spice has exceptionally tasty food, great service a cold beer! What else can a man hope for!
Food menu was varied enough. Portions were small. Was tasty though and staff were lovely
Another lovely meal at Cafe Spice Namaste. We had the Kitchen Menu because we always struggle to choose from menu. It which was more than enough food and it was all delicious. It's a good opportunity to be introduced to some new tastes and flavours. It's also a good mix of different dishes. I've marked ambiance down slightly only because the restaurant was almost empty when we arrived. It filled up later and had a much better atmosphere.
Food is always excellent and seasonal specials a real treat. Great staff with the knowledge to explain the dishes
As always the team at Cafe Spice produce exceptional food in really comfortable Sutton Dinh with just the right level of service.
The food was absolutely delicious. We tried the vegetarian sample menu and it was very good. The service was excellent as well. Highly recommend it for foodies.
Have been a regular customer for over 20 years and NEVER disappoints. Great food, warm welcome, excellent service.... Go for the tasting menus, Kitchen or Gourmet and enjoy the journey!
Always a great night out with fantastic food.
Second time at Cafe Spice Namaste. Booked table for opening time due to a later engagement. Wish we could have stayed all evening. The food and drinks were excellent and our waiter was exceptionally helpful explaining the menu and the format of the dishes. The traditional Goan food is first rate and the service was timed to our needs.
Superb authentic Indian food with excellent friendly service
Plenty of space beteeen tables not crammed in - light, airy , spacious and comfortable to talk. Staff helpful and the food of good quality . Different types of regional Indian dishes which made for an interesting experience
I always like this restaurant but the latest tinkering with the menu is not quite to my liking. Gone is the traditional Indian menu, no popadoms for a start, and in its place a small plates, tapas style menu. Which is fine if you want to share, and this time we did quite happily, mixing and matching. But we all had our favourites, which we always have, and it seems a bit silly if the day is coming when I have to order small plates of the same thing to get the main course size portion I know sometimes I will want. So the jury is out on the change in the menu, and I am not entirely convinced.
Never have a bad experience here! Highly recommend anyone going here, a hidden gem that is worth exploring! More to offer than just a great meal!
Amazing Indian restaurant!! Loved the food and the service was great. The portions are small which I’m not used to when I eat Indian food but everything was delicious so order a lot!!!
We really enjoyed the service and the extensive menu choice. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed that there was an Indian wine available which went very well with the food.
Visiting from the US every six months or so, we always try to get to Cafe Spice Namaste at least once a year. They always remember us and our preference, are always incredibly welcoming - and, of course, the food is spectacular!
