Caffe Concerto - Whitehall
Caffe Concerto has always been a lovely setting to eat and the extensive menu and delicious cakes on show are a delight. It was sad but a relief to see it so empty so that social distancing could be easily achieved but I was a bit concerned that there seemed to be no track or trace in place. I landed up visiting three times and the tea was the best cuppa I have had in several years anywhere and the Garden breakfast was an absolute treat. The staff are always pleasant and attentive and this is one chain where the standards are consistently high.
I love the food here! The waitresses on Saturday 31st were really lovely, friendly and quite funny too. They were so helpful and gave good advice on the food. I really love the decorations in the caffe which is why it's one of my favourite places to go!
Fantastic food, beautiful surroundings, staff were so polite and attentive.
5 stars all the way!!!
Marvellous lunch would definitely go again this the second time we have been & not been disappointed once
Amazing food and service, low to high prices but overall worth it for the food. Interior is amazing !
Very convenient location opposite Trafalgar Square Studios Theatre. Met friend there but he went to a different Cafe Concerto near Trafalgar Square - I didn't even know there were two. Both waited half an hour, before contacting and him getting to me!. Had to rush though main course only to get to theatre as a result!
Staff very helpful.
Nice atmosphere. Ideal for pre theatre dining for Trafalgar Studios
This was the first time I'd been here for an evening meal. The food was acceptable but nothing special but worth going for the desserts which were excellent.
It's a shame the service is always so slow, as the place is nice otherwise, and I've always had good food here. When we arrived they had no record of our booking (although I had email confirmation etc. through Open Table). This isn't the first time they have had no record of my booking.
The staff are friendly and pleasant, but there are not nearly enough of them for such a large restaurant. We had to go and get someone to take our order. We had to go and get our own drinks which we could see sitting on the bar for ages. We had to go and get someone to get our bill. We had to go and get someone to pay our bill. All with giant pauses in between when no-one came anywhere near our table.
The food was great, but I wouldn't use it again for a lunchtime booking unless I had at least 2 hours free. It is only for those with a lot of time. Our one-course meal took an hour and a half, and it would have been much longer had we not continually gone to find staff.
Good food and friendly staff. It was my daughters birthday. I pre ordered a cake which was delivered to the shop that they served to the table. Would definitely return.
It has very good food and decent portions. The decor is beautiful. It looks so posh and expensive but the value for food is great
Such a lovely restaurant, very friendly staff, great service, good food and, considering the location, very good prices. Great menu too!
We have now visited Caffe Concerto in Whitehall a number of times, this occasion was to celebrate my Daughter's 18th Birthday, and each time the service/food/experience have been exceptional, hence the repeat custom, and this is now very much our go-to place when we're looking to treat ourselves.
We booked for a special occasion. The staff were friendly and we were serviced through the meal by about three different people. When they sent the wrong order for one of us we had to wait sometime for the right one which mean the other 6 in our party had finished their course by the time it came. Everyone enjoyed the food and the place itself was lovely. Tip. - ask to sit at the back of the restaurant away from the front where there is the Whitehall traffic.
Beautiful restaurant, varied menu, food quality acceptable but nothing special, cramped tables touch on the pricey side. Quick service if you're in a hurry.
Just a wonderful experience, great welcoming staff and good food
We had a good pre-theatre meal at Caffe Concerto. Good size portions of tasty food. We returned a corked bottle of wine which the waiter dealt with without any quibble. Comfortable restaurant in good location.
Came here for lunch with a friend on a Friday lunchtime. Great interior, the staff are friendly and the service was really good. Enjoyed the food - there's a lot to choose from, and the prices are reasonable for that area of London. Thoroughly enjoyed it, so will have to visit again.
Shared a fish platter to start, very greasy deep fried selection. I had risotto to follow, massive portion but very bland.
I go to Caffe Concerto quite a lot as it is always good value. The service is always pretty quick and the food is consistently good and very reasonably priced, which is why I am a returning customer!
An excellent alternative for afternoon tea with a friend when the more costly options are all booked up! Probably not for big groups as it’s very noisy (though my views are coloured by the cafe’s close proximity to the massive anti-Brexit ‘People’s Vote’ rally).
Lovely atmosphere. Excellent staff and great cakes..!!..
Always a pleasure, really good food and venue for a reasonable price.
Excellent customer service. The food is amazing. Excellent place to go for any occasion
Great dinner !
Nice dinner and lovely service . OUR server Ricardo make our experience realy great.
This guys are fantastic every time had a few meetings here and every time my guest are impressed.
Good food and great service.
Very nice restaurant had a business dinner the place looks really nice from the outside its even better inside great service food and atmosphere.
Despite booking a table online, when we arrived the manager said they didn't have the reservation. She said she wasn't bothered about seeing my confirmation but she had a free table anyway. They didn't bother to wipe it clean or equip it with utensils. We had to wait ages for our order to be taken. Once the food and wine arrived, it was tasty but slightly on the cool side as the plates were cold. We asked 3 times for some water for the table before it actually arrived. There didn't appear to be enough staff serving and the ones that were there were not very observant about their clientele. You virtually had to wave your arms to get attention. As a last resort we went up to the bar to request the water. It was a shame because the restaurant is a beautiful place with great music and ambience. We were meeting family for lunch after traveling from different parts of the country. I would like to recommend it again as my initial experience 2 years ago was a very good one.
Caffe Concerto, Whitehall was delightful. With its proximity to Trafalgar Square I was worried it could be a tourist trap but it most certainly wasn't. Yes there were tourists, but the food and price for a Whitehall location was very reasonable.
It was very busy when we arrived but quieter towards the back. Menu is nicely varied from afternoon tea, to cakes, to sandwiches to full hot meals. We ordered pizza and calzone and the staff were attentive and polite. Food was presented nicely and was very tasty.
Really good place to meet old school friends and catch up. Good choice of menu. Very friendly service, we asked to move to another table as the microphone with fairly loud music was overhead. It wasn't a problem and the music was turned off. No one minded how long we stayed and although very busy at the front, the back area was not busy, only another table with a family on the other side. We are going to book again when we meet in December. Very pleasant lunch.
Nice, friendly convenient place to meet. Good service, good choice of food and not overcrowded. Noise from Whitehall but much quieter in the rear area. Will certainly come again.
From the outside display window it would appear that this is exclusively a dessert cafe. There are a variety of whole cakes with some cut slices and many pastries. However in fact they have a full menu of many types of salads and omelette and Italian dishes as well as many other choices. The food was delicious and reasonable priced. However the servers were all non brits and language problems were annoying and resulted in very slow and poor service. Note that service charge is automatically added to your bill so you cannot adjust for poor service. Still I will return as it’s very convenient just off Trafalgar Square and open all day until late with an attractive atmosphere and seating.
We booked Afternoon Tea at the Grand Caffe Concerto on Whitehall, whilst we had a week long holiday in London for a treat on our first day. Suffice to say, we were not at all disappointed! The service was exceptional, staff could not do enough to help, confirming our tea and coffee selections and ensuring our orders and any allergies were discussed. All I can say, is the cakes and pastries, were scrumptious and the scones were as light as air! The surroundings also contribute to the atmosphere, very luxurious! Highly recommended.
Went here initially for lunch, had booked a 12pm table in advance and got there 10 mins early- told this to the lady that greeted us at the door however got no response apart from her walking away, followed warily and was seated. Not a great first impression. Having not visited a Caffè concerto before, we looked at the menu in front of us and ordered at almost 12pm. At no point were we told that if we waited a few minutes, the lunch menu would be given to us - Little bit annoyed about that. Overall our food was good and because we essentially ordered breakfast we had enough room for a gigantic piece of cake and a tiny pot of overpriced tea. A very nice place to look at however, with big chandeliers and plush teal seats.
Disappointing all round.
Salmon overcooked & potatoes almost cold.
Booked a table but when we arrived were told they don't take bookings. Luckily because it was early there was room for us. Service was slow and the lobster I ordered was overcooked. Wasn't worth mentioning at the time as it was still edible. Wine was nice and so was dessert. Ok place for casual dining but maybe there is a better chef at one of the many outlets in London
The food and location excellent
The service overall good except the main arrived at about the same time as the starter
Overall However a lovely experience.

I booked this restaurant to 10pm this Sunday here at opentable.
I arrived the restaurant at 9:40 and at the front door the waiter came quickly to say we are closed even if it says opened until 11pm at the glass door.
After checking my reservation I saw that I booked to this specific restaurant at 10pm properly.
Tried to talk to the same waiter again and he said, no we are closed and we close earlier on Sunday.
So why the restaurant accepts reservation for a time that it’s closed?
Why it says open at the front door if it’s closed?
The waiter didn’t even tried to listen what I told.
He wasn’t rude but just said, it’s closed, it’s closed, it’s closed.
This restaurant should organize it’s time for this not to happen, including what is at the door.
Also the bare minimum I was expecting from the waiter is to say i’m sorry for the inconvenient. But no. Didn’t even show any expression.
Best part is that because of the episode we just crossed the street and found another restaurant that had the best food I tried in London so far. Thanks.
Love Caffe Concerto! They have the most delicious food, tasty cakes and gorgeous Afternoon Teas. Their hot chocolate is to die for too! Perfect for all occasions.
