   Very nice place with exceptional service . Savoury food was good , deserts very good although the Rose Lychee was a disappointment and overly priced for what it was. Ambience makes worth it the experience and I would recommend the place to others.

   We were greeted and welcomed and seated when we arrived, however, our waitress must have ended her shift halfway through serving us and we sat for over 20 min with dirty plates on our table, I had to enquire if my husband's 2nd course was going to be served. Our son also ordered a toasted sandwich which arrived on commercial bread with a cold portion of fries, something not expected from such an establishment. For a special day out, we felt this was very disappointing.

   Oh my - have to say I really every bit of it. We ordered the full tea set with champagne and worried we would be too full after lunch but it was perfect. We definitely had a fabulous afternoon for a special occasion/ celebration. All the desserts were finely designed, both taste and presentation. Highly recommended.

   This was delightful, and the staff contributed, but not excessively, to the sense of occasion. We had the Cakes and Bubbles afternoon tea menu and were amazed and intrigued by the exquisite productions. We particularly liked the pistachio pillows, the passion fruit crème caramel eggs and the cheesecake. Oh, and as an aside, I adored the fresh orange and mango juice with the slightly crunchy shards of ice.

    Outstanding, unique food and exquisite drinks. Unfortunately, we only had one of the tables outdoors so it was pretty noisy and less comfortable. Service could have been a tad more attentive - we waited more than 10 minutes until we could order.

    We booked a lunch for our day out in London celebrating the Jubilee at the Hotel Cafe Royal. We were sat on our table outside and were promptly attended too, my wife went for the sweet afternoon tea with a glass of Champagne and my children and I had some small plates from the menu. Service was a bit hit and miss, with some long pauses between being served. My wife finished her Champagne and I asked the waitress for another glass of it, after waiting 20 minutes and not receiving the champagne, and having finished eating we decided to get the bill. I notified the waitress that the glass had never come and she apologised and said don’t worry it won’t be on the bill. Five minutes later she came back and said that she had poured another glass because she remembered doing so and that we would need to pay for the second glass. This I found very unprofessional, not only did we not receive the glass of champagne we asked for, we were then accused of lying that we hadn’t received it. I was visibly annoyed by this and the waitress said although she remembered serving it (which she didn’t) because I was insistent she wouldn’t put it on the bill. This put a complete spin on the whole experience, I paid in full and left with a bitter taste in my mouth.

    desserts are out of this world.. truly, you cant beat them. special thanks and respect needs to go to our waiter, charlie. he treated us both with true decency from the second he introduced himself. he was kind, nothing was too much trouble and some of the other diners didnt even acknowledge him when he refilled their glasses etc. personally, i find that rude, but he kept a smile on his face the whole time and he was a true gent.

    Went to celebrate my wife’s birthday, and all we had was a “happy birthday” said by the manager. The table next to us had a plate with happy birthday on it written in chocolate. Also one of the dessert was not complete, and after I pointed it out a new one was brought. To finish, instead of 2x small cheesecake one large one was brought and that was not easy to split between two. Why did they do that?

    The final bill had add ons which we never ordered. We were overcharged for things that we never consumed and since I was entertaining a client didn’t wanted to create a fuss. Desserts were nice.

    Beautiful setting for a truly outstanding experience. We only went for the desserts and were not disappointed, the lychee rose was exquisite and so delicate, their signature cheesecake is outstanding. Staff are very helpful without being overbearing and it’s not too loud in there so it’s very relaxing.

    This was our second visit but unfortunately one of our party lost her wallet whilst at Cakes and Bubbles. The loss has been reported to the police and at the time of writing has not been recovered. The experience did spoil our afternoon.

    I hadn't realised that it would have such a limited dessert menu seeing as we were told that it is really a dessert place and that's why it is a small savoury menu that they normally only give one copy of. The desserts are not classic. Everything is a bit quirky and I think they want to appeal to the pointless IG crowd who love different things so they can take snaps and self validate. Not me. I want good, tried and tested dessert flavours and that was impossible. Had mocha cheesecake which wasn't anything special nor delicious. The chocolate yuza cake was OK too. Before I had the caesar salad which at £24 was possibly the most expensive, and added prawns were £9 and I hadn't realised these were just 2 king prawns still in shell. The tourists on the next table were also complaining about the extortionate prices, and the service. It wasn't an extremely busy time and we were refused window seats on entry as they were reserved. 2 out of 3 were empty the entire hour and a half we were there. The staff could have offered to move us when we were reminded of the 15 min grace booking policy, so they could legitimately give the table to other customers. The staff were attentive when at your table, but getting them to notice and come over was a real issue and this place is NOT big. At these prices you'd expect top notch service and attention. Instead we had many staff standing around talking despite the cafe being less than half full. Disappointing experience. 3 stars because reasonably quiet and good location if you're in Picadilly and need a break. But I think to get more stars, the staff need to be much more attentive, the menu needs to be far more exhaustive and offer some classics that people often just want, especially with those ridiculous prices - it's not a Michelin starred restaurant and that was a nice but not out-of-this-world salad and cake. The latte also was bland and not smooth. Nor cheap. I think it's an above average place but really expected much more.

    We had a great experience enjoying an array of creative and delicious sweets in the sunny afternoon. The cheese cake and baklava were impressively tasty. The service was excellent and attentive. In spite of sitting outdoor, we did not feel difficult to reach the staff as they frequently looked after us really well. We would come back again to enjoy the food

    Thank you for a lovely afternoon. The staff went out of their way to make the occasion memorable and even wrote happy birthday on the plate of the last dessert. Very expensive so would only go for a treat 😊
