The food and service were great. A bit pricy given the ambiance of the place. It could use some decor help, tables are a bit rickety and beat up looking. A table cloth might help.
I ordered the sirloin med rare. It was served well done. The waitress did offer to have another one cooked, but that would have meant my date would have to let his food get cold. They didn’t offer a Cabernet by the glass, only by the bottle
Awesome place! Great food! Perfect for a date night 🥰
Our food was delicious. Steaks were cooked perfectly
Very good meal! Bryan is a great waiter and made us feel welcome.
We’ve been going to Caminito since it opened and always love the food and atmosphere. New bar area is great. The menu could use some new / additional options
Service was excellent. Food was delicious and cooked perfectly. Wanted to try a dessert but we were so stuffed from dinner we couldn’t fit anymore! Will definitely go back.
Everything is outstanding. Food is good, good selection, good service, friendly hosts. The only hangup is the price. It's probably all $4-5 over what I would have expected, even in Noho. But it's a beautiful place and great for a special date.
Made a reservation for a Valentines Day dinner. My lady had the prime rib and I had the chicken, both were exceptional! We ordered a creme brûlée for dessert but was disappointed that it was the thinnest layer of creme brûlée I had ever seen. I asked the waitress about it and she said that it was pre measured. In my opinion it looked like it was about .025 thick which is nothing but besides that, dinner was wonderful.
Outstanding!! The wife had the lamb shank, I had Filet mignon, Chorizo appetizer. Great server Deven, attentive and knowledgeable. Miss the Skirt steak though. We will be back!!
Much too expensive for what you get. Has wrong menu online. Would have chosen some where else if they had correct menu online. Got the filet skewers. Meat and veggies we tasteless accept the taste of lighter fluid from wood fire. Meat was tough not quality filet. Rice was bland. Just not worth the money.
Appetizers were served cold. Steak was ok but drowned in demi-glace .
A little expensive to frequent often, but a nice place one in a while
One of the best filet steaks I have had, cooked to a perfect medium rare. Very cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Service was wonderful and we can't wait to go back.
Great food and service! Brian whipped up a winter version of his Sangria-delicious.
Food and service were amazing!!! Will be back again soon!!!
No longer a strictly Argentine restaurant, the fare is more standard American. The charred carrot appetizer was a tasty combination of pesto sauce, melted goat cheese and carrot pieces that resembled French fries but were not fried. We had the duck entree and a filet both prepared well and to taste. I recommend Caminito
I thought a steakhouse would be a good place to enjoy an exceptional steak. But the sirloin (medium rare) was very hard to cut and chew. Side dishes and dessert were OK, but nothing outstanding.
Excellent brochettes of beef and vegetables, delicious rib-eye. Try the carrot appetizer, yum! Friendly prompt server. Tables a little too small. Very clean and pleasant atmosphere but could use updated decor.
We used a Groupon for brunch, which itself was a good deal. We had the steak and eggs, as well as the eggs benedict with steak, and both were very satisfying. The beignets were a sweet treat, and the mimosa was perfect. However, the service could have been better.
We chose Caminito because it was close to the theater. It was our first time there. Our table was ready when we arrived a few minutes early. The waitstaff was great and very attentive. We shared a beet salad which was excellent and the freshly backed bread was delicious. The menu had a great variety. Our meals were cooked perfectly. This is not a large restaurant, more like a pub with a Small bar area and table seating for about 50 to 60 people. The restaurant was full by the time we left, so we were happy that we had made a reservation. We will definitely visit there again the next time we are in Northampton.
Caminito’s has been our go-to place for birthdays, among a small group of friends. the food is always excellent, and the staff there seem happy. They are certainly well informed about wines and food preparation, etc. We always enjoy ourselves. The space is cramped, and it gets pretty noisy, but that town is extremely cramped for space. I do wonder if they’re are hitting enough of a profit so that they could find a larger space. They are popular and seem to have bountiful, steady business. Definitely recommend.
It was great to dine there on New Year's Eve. The kitchen seemed backed up, it took us a while to get our food but I'm sure that was because it was NYE since that has not been my experience in the past. The hostess was telling us that they were trying to flip tables on schedule since they had specific seatings but that wasn't happening. When we got our food it was excellent! I'm sure it was an off-night for them I would certainly go back again. The waitstaff was very attentive as well.
The staff were welcoming, attentive and responsive. However, the sirloin steak was unevenly cooked and parts were med rare when I ordered medium well. The steak tasted fine but the mashed potatoes were dry and the Gorgonzola butter for the steak was cold and hard. I was under impressed, especially for the price, and would not recommend Caminito.
Not what it used to be! Steak dish was a disappointment. Fillet was small and about 50% inedible.
We won't be going back.
Horrible experience on New Year's eve. Food took over 1 hour to serve ... ( there were 3 servings of bread ...and an unexpected cheese plate pacifer in this gap..). The shrimp was cold ... they reheated it for me ... tasted horrible. I didn't eat it ... they asked if I wanted a take-out box ... I said "No, that can go directly in the trash."
I know it is not the servers fault ...or maybe not even the chef's fault specifically ... but something is wrong at this establishment. For the prices ...actually at any price ... avoid Caminito, and go elsewhere ... there are lots of option in Northampton.
We had a great boozy Sunday brunch at Caminito. My husband had the steak and eggs which far exceded his expectations and I had the frittata which was good, but would have been nice if it came with a side of toast or home fries. Chocolate mousse for dessert was divine! Highly recommend
The food and service were excellent. I will absolutely be returning to eat there!
One meal was served before the second meal was ready. I finished my meal before my husbands was served. Restaurant was not busy, which was nice. We had most of the place to ourselves. The waitress was very apologetic for the kitchen mix up. Great coffee and mimosas!
We miss the original menu with the Gaucho Steaks and the original bread. Food was very tasty.
We have been going to this restaurant for years, but haven’t been there in probably 5 years. We were immediately disappointed when we walked in. The place looked like an unfinished project. The walls were well overdue for a fresh coat of paint and the floor looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. They had makeshift curtains covering doorways or closets not sure. Our table was ok. The place is very dimly lite and they had a little candle on the table and that was nice. Unfortunately, the table we were at had the chairs positioned in a way that one person literally stares at the wall the whole time. It was a very cold night and the restaurant was chilly and very drafty. The menu has been changed, some of our favorite items gone. Bye, bye lobster ravioli! I was super happy that my favorite dinner was still on the menu Gorgonzola steak. It looked great when it came out except for the fact that the Gorgonzola butter came in two slices on top of the steak and was cold and they didn’t even have it soften. The original dish had an amazing butter Gorgonzola sauce that melted into the meat and gave it an amazing taste. This version felt like I was putting cold butter on toast. The steak was extremely grisly and tough in spots i had to trim more than half of it away. The kale took me 5 minutes to chew each bite. The mash potatoes were pretty good. My Husband enjoyed his meal. The coffee was excellent! My favorite part. The creme brûlée was also good. Overall, I feel that the addition of the bar is very cool, but they should have taken care and fixed up the rest of the place as well. The bar itself is beautifully done too bad it looks very out of place in the restaurant. I’m assuming the place has new owners, the entire restaurant vibe was different. Before it was romantic and cozy. Now it’s very load and feels more like a pub. Oh yeah I almost forgot about the bathroom, there is only 1 and Let’s just say if I had gone in the bathroom before I ordered we would have left.
Wonderful brunch, food and service. Music a little loud and chef yelling from kitchen quite often
the new GEM in Northampton's Sunday brunch options!
Wonderful place. Aside from the cozy atmosphere and the great food, the staff was very helpful and pleasant.
Steak was terrible, all 3 of us got different steaks and they were fatty and poor quality.
Went to Caminito's for brunch on a Saturday morning. The service, food, and ambiance was wonderful. Will definitely be back
We had absolutely great time, food was delicious, but very expensive. I would recommend this place for a special occasion.
They completely forgot it was our anniversary...we specified on reservation. WE drove from Hartford to have a special night and not one person in the restaurant, hist, server or the manager who brought out our food recognized that we were there for a very important night, The food was good, the service was nothing spectacular.
Good service, good food. one steak was slightly over cooked. specialty cocktails were delicious.
We have been going to Caminito for several years now and still believe that overall, the food quality is very good and consistently fresh. Having said that, we discovered during our most recent visit that the restaurant made some changes which we personally found a little disappointing.
First, a full bar with seating was added which impacts the atmosphere which we always found very relaxing. They apparently no longer play the Argentinian/South American music which was enjoyable.
Finally, we were surprised to learn of changes to the menu for items that made the restaurant unique:
They served home made regular items including beef stew soup, freshly baked Argentinian style biscuits that came hot out of the oven (replaced by bread squares that appear mass produced). Their previous roasted salmon with leeks and an unusually different orange sauce was replaced by one with a maple/honey glaze...very good, but does not compare with the previous version, with its unique ingredients which we looked forward to as a very fresh and lite option.
Finally, and perhaps most importantly, as an
example of Caminito’s trend to perhaps more
quickly get orders to tables, we were very
disappointed to discover that their delicious
home made caramel crepes with Fresh whole strawberries, are now prepared and offered as only a cold rolled up pre-made dessert, which tasted little like the previous hot and thinly prepared caramel filled version.
