I would love to have given them a review but as the restaurant closed down, and neither the restaurant nor opentable informed us we had to wait until the day the find out it had been cancelled and then we had to rush to find somewhere else - not great service sadly
On arrival for our reservation we found the restaurant was closed for a refurb
This restaurant has closed and no longer exists at this location. Why is Open Table still taking bookings???
Prompt and attentive service with a waiter who gave us a complimentary dessert to celebrate our anniversary
Food and service was great as always.
Imaginative and tasty modern Mexican with great flavours and style. Delicious cocktails. Good selection of choices on the set menu.
Drinks were not great and neither was food :(
Pre theatre dinner. Excellent food. Somewhat pricey but expected in this area of the city
Excellent food, guacamole choice was especially impressive. Classy venue, lovely waiting staff. Bit noisy, but that’s to be expected due to the location. Portion/dish size can vary, so definitely ask the waiters, they’ve always been v helpful when i’ve asked. Great for families
Very poor dining and service experience. For example I had ordered chicken fajitas. The meat was hard, dry and the dish generally tasteless. The staff forgot our order on two separate instances, and we had to remind them that we had placed the order.
This is my favourite Mexican place in London, hands down. It is always excellent.
The staff were lovely, very accommodating when we arrived late for a pre theatre meal. The food itself was pricy for what it was, and I've definitely had much better Mexican food elsewhere. A real shame.
Everything about the visit was excellent apart from the attitude of the small girl on the front desk.
She refused to seat me until my companion arrived (fortunately she was soon overridden by her manager).
While at the bar I was approached by another patron who has heard what she said and whispered “what is with her attitude”.
Not suited at all for customer service.
The food was, as ever, delicious. The waitress was very accommodating- taking our order before my companion arrived - she arrived JUST as the guacamole was being placed on the table!
We made our show, which was very important.
Great meal and pleasant ambience spoiled by a rude waiter. All other staff fantastic but he was not. One bad apple...
Innovative Mexican food, bit pricey and slow (oh so slow) service, even with the restaurant three quarters empty
The meat was tough and the overall standard of food is not satisfactory.
Every time I have been here the toilets are absolutely horrendous. I don’t know who are using them but they have been utterly disgusting. Makes what would otherwise be a nice meal out in to a poor experience.
Excellent food cocktails a little expensive
Great food. Great atmosphere and helpful friendly staff. Lovely environment to relax and enjoy your meal.
The food is delicious, a bit loud and crowded, very good and quick food service, the drinks service is slow.
Booked an early table for dinner. When we arrived there was one other table eating. The host places us next to them so we asked to move. Sat at another table for two and low and behold, 2 mins later, they placed someone next to us. In an empty restaurant. Food was average. The chicchiron on the guacamole were stale, the pork belly tacos lovely, the remainder was forgettable.
This is a very good restaurant. The food was good and the service excellent.
The restaurant incorrectly marked me as a no show which I then had to rectify with open table. Other than that, the service was ok, although some of the waiters were waiting around outside for some bizarre reason and not to greet people coming in. The guacamole and dessert were delicious. However the mains were very average and pretty bland. We were advised on a signature dish (tempura prawns) which were uninspiring. They say you can’t get great Mexican food in London and unfortunately CL does not buck this trend.
Best TexMex food I have found in London! The guacamole, queso and steak fajitas were all very good.
Slow and t
Super friendly staff, food was very tasty and the mocktails divine. Maybe a little on the pricey side, but worth it.
A bit over priced
As always, very good food - this is why we return so frequently, we are rarely let down. This time, the experience was made even more special by our waiter, Diogo! Nothing was too much trouble, he was both attentive and inventive, and he went out of his way to ensure that our experience was memorable. This was particularly important because although my wife and I have been to Cantina Laredo many times, this was my son's first visit, and it was a special occasion for him. Suffice to say that he (my son) will be a frequent visitor to Cantina Laredo as well in the future! Way to go, Diogo!
Great place but a little pricey for Mexican food!
I went with 2 colleagues for dinner at 6.00pm on a Friday evening. The experience was brilliant; the food was excellent - fresh and nicely cooked for all three meals. Service was prompt and polite. We really enjoyed our visit and will certainly be returning.
This was my second time at the restaurant. Both times I chose steak (t-bone the first time and steak with habanero butter more recently). They were cooked to perfection each time. The creamy potatoes were nice too.
My friends chose from the pre theatre menu and went for the chicken tortillas and vegetarian tortillas which they loved. Fajita mains were ok.
Food is average. Service was awful.
Went for a 2 course pre theatre menu but the food took so long we didn't have time for the dessert! Food v overpriced. Go to Dishoom next door instead!
Food was great!! Loved the guacamole selection and a mixed variety of entradas and main. Slightly disappointed with the churros, they were too oily.
Great service and good ambience
A bit noisy around, customers in the table next to us were shouting instead of speaking
Lousy tasteless bland food..I mean hullo...were in a Mexican restaurant !!!??? Portions are tiny, irregular fillings..fillings also are just filled with half fillings..trying to be different..but guys youve got it all wrong !
Also when bookings for 2 people..you dont give a bar seating..when 50% of the restaurant is empty..!!
You dont treat me well..theres noway im coming back..youve just lost a customer..!
Worst Mexican restaurant in London. Extremely expensive, very small portions, tasteless, doesn't feel like a Mexican at all. We ordered 2 pre-theatre menus. Tacos de platano, greasy and raw inside fried plantain dough with beans inside??? (I could even tell if there was something inside). Pulled pork mini buns, which were like tasteless burgers. For main: marinated ribs, which were the dryest ribs I ever tried and rib-eye tacos, really a scam. For dessert they have a brownie with boiling caramel. I dont know who was the genius that put together brownie + boiling caramel, but its really dabgerous, my fiance burnt his tongue really bad.
Recommendation: Wahacas is 100 times more tasty and cheaper.
Good food, very good service
Good food, great atmosphere, central location
