Not as good as the two last visits.
Very disappointing visit - and we have been many times, it is one of our favorite restaurants in the West End, and we often take visitors there. But not after this experience. The service was appalling - they clearly were not coping with the volume of patrons, but this was 6pm in the West End, they should have been better prepared. We has almost finished our food when my wine arrived, the signature guacamole dish was terrible (usually a highlight) - badly (very hastily) prepared, bits of avocado left in which one would ordinarily leave out as "damaged", very lumpy and stringy. The other dishes were again not up to the usual standard - and overall, just plain disappointing. We also had another couple seated almost on top of us - tables uncomfortably close together - which was unnecessary given that the restaurant wasn't all that full, and it impeded our ability to continue our private conversation. All in all, we probably won't go back - which is sad, because we've always looked forward to going to Cantina Laredo.
We were at the restaurant for a Business Meeting. The service was terrible, and it was almost impossible to get any waiters attention. The drinks took ages to come every time we ordered them. The food was very bland.
Place was bustling if not a little too loud. Menu was ambitious and interesting. Service was pretty good and the servers were friendly. Some of the food missed the mark but the guacamole was excellent
Good food! Great guacamole and cocktails! Love it here
Amazing service as always. Not sure why I didn't get my 1000points?
The guacamole was divine...will be back soon! The service was excellent and the restaurant was spacious
Food was good - lots of vegetarian and gluten free options which was required by members of my dining party. Food was tasty. Service was slow and a bit inattentive but they were friendly. If you re not in a rush it’s not much of an issue but we did have moments when our drinks ran dry.
Sadly the food didn't have much flavor, the service was extremely slow when ordering drinks and waiters and waitresses managed to smash 3 glasses in the 2 hours we were in there. It's certainly not baby friendly as it's quite loud but that's quite common in London restaurants. When we complained they didn't offer anything other than a emotionless apology and when you're paying £150 for a meal you expect them to care about the customers opinion. I wrote a formal complaint to the management and received an email back quizzing every opinion I had and even referred to CCTV footage to argue that it only took them 15 minutes to make a G&T. Madness! They obviously don't understand the hospitality industry and it's quite sad that people are that rude to paying customers. I would NEVER eat here again and urge anyone thinking about booking to go find a proper Mexican restaurant that care about what their customer thinks. 1/10
Lovely friendly staff. Service could not be faulted. I thoroughly enjoyed my dishes. My vegetarian friends were very happy too.
Food was not as good as the last time we visited, mojitos were excellent!
Extremely good mexican food (best in town I think), ambience is fresh, simple and smart. Very good cocktails. Not cheap but worthy.
Very good guacamole, all the ones I have tried have always been excellent. Other dishes generally fine, but overall the bill came to a bit more than anticipated probably because some of the portions are quite small. Good range of drinks.
A planned evening with friends, thoroughly enjoyed our evening at this great restaurant.
A nice meal and good service - good for pre theatre dining
Food was tasteless.
When I am in London, I try to visit Cantina Laredo. This place has the best Mexican food in London. Unfortunately, this time the service was extremely terrible. The waitress took my drink and firsts order then was not be seen for quite a while. Once she took my main order, it came out quickly but then again she disappeared and had to wait for the check. I am hoping this is an anomaly and will give them another try.
Guacamole was the best ever! Pomegranate margarita delicious too.
Went with family and friends for Sunday lunch. Very tasty food, friendly and efficient service. The frozen margaritas are delicious. Will be going back.
Phenomenal experience and we only had time for the 1 hour pre-theatre menu. Classic guacamole made at the table, delightful cocktails, generous tapas portions and amazing flavours and presentation too. We will be back!
Everything was very good, service, food, ambience! Our guests arrived first and when checking in did not have our reservation. Luckily for us they did have a table.
This is an upmarket restaurant so we expected gourmet Mexican food. All the dishes that me and my friends ordered were not that great and none of us were impressed. The starters were quite bland, the mains lacked flavour and the desserts were quite large that we immediately knew that we were not about to tuck into delicious food.
Sorry for the harsh review guys but this is not gourmet Mexican food. Customers are better going elsewhere...
Food was excellent as always here. Great atmosphere and staff extreme nice and friendly.
We had the pre-theatre fixed price menu. Good value for Covent Garden. The fajitas were very good and enjoyed the churros and the frozen margaritas.
We have been to CL several times pre theatre and have always had a very enjoyable experience. On this occasion we were served by Mariano who maintained the normal high levels of service as well as instructing a trainee.
Great experience! Amazing food!
Service food and ambience all first class. Have gone several times and consistently excellent. Highly recommended.
this is a mexican restaurant with difference. They make guacamole at your table.
Fabulous food but service not great. Would certainly eat here again though.
Amazing food will definitely be returning. The starter was made in front of us and tasted delicious.
Fantastic family meal during easter weekend. Food was fantastic especially the choice of smaller bites. Cocktails were especially nice. Would highly recommend and will be back the next time I’m in London with family.
Catching up with family. Great food, friendly and professional service. Would recommend and definitely go again!
Bottomless brunch - excellent value
Food is absolutely delicious especially mini pork tacos
Would recommend and will return
Very friendly staff and the bottomless brunch is great value. Tasty food, but portions aren't huge. Would go again.
Food quality was terrible. Experience and service even worse
They bought our mains out while we were still eating our starters and instead of apologising they got into a strop about taking it back
Wouldn't recomended it
I went for the veg choices this time, there wasn't too much to choose from. However as usual thoroughly enjoyed the guacamole.
Been there a few times! Good margaritas and tasty food! Friendly happy staff.
Very attentive staff, lovely food, great amosphere
Absolutely superb service. We had a great night as the food, as always, was superb.
Great food, good fun, good service, excellent margeritas
