Cantine at Camden Art Centre is set in a modernist glass cafe framed by a secluded garden and extensive terrace with covered and open air seating. We serve artisan coffee and tea, patisserie, lunch, and natural wine and beer. All food is freshly made using quality ingredients. We mostly serve vegan, vegetarian and gluten free dishes and sparingly serve meat and fish.

A place for art and artists, Cantine at Camden Art Centre is now available to host bar and bat mitzvahs, wedding and civil partnership receptions and other celebrations. Cantine offers a seasonal and bespoke menu catering to all dietary requirements - most notably vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and kosher observant dishes and drinks.

Whilst walk-ins are welcome, we recommend to either book via Open Table or call 07544724031 to make a reservation.

Where possible we source our ingredients locally within Britain and Europe. Office opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm – events can be booked on most days of the year.

A charming space with a tranquil outdoor patio and garden, and utterly delicious, generously portioned food. The wines are also very elegant and well chosen by the talented team. Think of this as a worthwhile place to visit for the delicious food alone, but that just happens to have a progressive art gallery attached.

Second visit to Cantine. First chance to enjoy the beautiful garden and surroundings in the sunshine. The food was really delicious; we were impressed by the varied menu too. And such generous portions! Everyone was friendly and it was nice also to be able to take in some art in the gallery while we were there... We'll definitely be back for a third visit.

Nice little place with a pleasant outdoor area,however food was not great at all, we ordered a lasagna with aubergines and butternut squash, there was absolutely no taste and it was not even hot in addition it was highly priced (16£ per portion!!!). We won’t go back.

We loved the lasagne this time. My children go to school locally so its the perfect spot for after school teatimes when Mummy's on the run. There is now a dedicated kids menu, so thanks for that!

Such a friendly, warm and welcoming cafe. The manager (owner?) and staff were so full of energy and warmth, and the redone menus are excellent - they offer a fantastic new kids' set menu, and their small plates menu is really lovely. The aubergines and pomengranate, flatbreads, and really fantastic peppers and labneh were outstanding. The coffee and cakes at Cantine were always really excellent and remain so. Hampstead finally has great middle eastern food in a casual, informal setting. and we are so happy to have the Camden Arts Centre back - even better than before (and that's saying something).

Fantastic new tent set-up in the gorgeous garden; big, with heaters and QR scans and their usual wonderful, friendly staff. They seem to use very little sugar in their food, cakes and scones included, and their homemade jam is exceptional. It's a magical place. Something that amazes me here is the quality of the glassware and crockery in that it's proper Conran-level pieces, very in keeping with the gallery itself.

Second visit to Cantine. We sat in the garden on a beautiful sunny October day. I had a totally delicious vegan lasagna + glass of white wine, she had lamb tagine and glass of red - both were delcious and super reasonably priced. Staff were super charming and welcoming. We had a lovely time

We went to the Canteen on Sunday at 3:30-3:45 pm. The staff was a bit confused about my booking and told me to go around the building and enter from a different entrance. After I insisted and showed the booking again (and after actually looking at it) they pointed at the table for us to sit. The table didn’t have a QR code-menus and I was trying to make an eye contact with someone to bring it (supposedly, I shouldn’t be just walking around). I had an impression that the waiter was happier fiddling with some trays than scanning the room in case customers needed something. Finally, we scanned the QR code and downloaded the menus only to be informed that the kitchen is closed and they could give us some soup. Other than that it’s just cakes and tea... By that time most of the cakes had sold out and they had a limited variety of choices. The whole experience was somewhat underwhelming.

The door from the cafe through to the gallery is not in use at the moment for everyones safety and guests are asked to use the Finchley Road entrance. Delicious food and great service I had the Croque Monsieur and my partner the mozzarella toastie both were full of flavour and served with a beautifully dressed salad. Would definitely recommend.

We went with a friend. This was our third visit, this time for lunch. The main dishes were delicious and well thought through, and again many were gluten free. We found room for desert - to our delight once again the cakes and pastries. Reasonably priced, and again the staff looked after us very well.

This was our second visit for afternoon tea. This time our son and granddaughters came with us. As before the cakes and pastries were delicious, and many were gluten free. Once again the staff looked after us very well, and were quietly professional. Our grandaughters (8 and 12) loved the food, the crockery and the whole experience. We enjoyed it all.

Nice place to have a spot of lunch or a coffee; good atmosphere and the food is tasty. I’d say the staff can be more attentive, as we were left waiting a while to receive the menu, and mistakes were made on the final bill (which meant we ended up overpaying). These might be small things for some, but I’m unlikely to come back.

Where possible we source our ingredients locally within Britain and Europe. Office opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm – events can be booked on most days of the year.
