We've been to Caravan a few times now and always had a very enjoyable experience whilst the value is excellent. This time we had the sourdough pizza with nduja which had a lovely texture and big (but not too big) hit of heat from the nduja; the bowl of chicken larb with rice and pickles was very tasty, even if it didn't really remind us of the ones we actually had in Laos; and the meatballs were excellent, although the aubergine that accompanied them was even better. We also had the hot smoked salmon and rice bowl, cod dumplings, grilled mackerel and a bunch of starters. Bill came to just over £20 a head including drinks and service.
Went for a Valantine's breakfast and had a very enjoyable experience at Caravan. The staff who looked after us were friendly, attentive and made some great recommendations from the menu (which they seemed to know backwards).
I had the superb fried jalapeño cornbread; perfect, and the chorizo is a fantastic addition. My guest tried the chorizo and potato hash and, while it was good, it could've done with less potatoes and more flavour. Unfortunately when we received the food, the hash was cold, but the staff were on it straight away and another was ready in about five minutes. They took this off the bill, which was very kind of them.
The location itself is nice and bright and spacious and perfect for a casual weekday breakfast - and quiet enough to have a conversation.
I came to Caravan (Bankside) for my anniversary and the evening was perfect. The food was delicious and the service was great. They made the evening very special and I will definitely return to Caravan soon
Great restaurant, lovely interior and good food! I’ve been here several times now and continue to enjoy it.
In general everything was ok. We order 5 different dishes but they only brought 4 dishes. But in my bill I was charged for the chilli tofu. This was pointed by my guest when we left the restaurant. I am planning to come back and complaint about this.
Loved the food! Unusual menu but yum! We were a group of 6 and everyone was super impressed with the dishes!
Absolutely recommend if you want to try something different.
I also really liked the low light atmosphere. Gave it a chill whilst sophisticated.
Great service, nice atmosphere, good cocktails, delicious starters, mediocre vegan mains.
Food amazing, serve good at start but just ok later on but in being picky
Really pleased with the Waiter's recommendation for food. We had sharing plates and everything was packed with flavour !
This menu is both healthy and delicious. I’ve already recommended Caravan to friends.
Lovely spot to work from, to have meetings and to go for a date. Well rounded place definitely recommend
Really great food but really poor service, and awful house wine
We were a group of 7 and we received fabulous service and the food was delicious.
It was a shame that two things we wanted had run out but that was the only comment and it didnt affect us as the rest of the food was great.
Very pleasantly surprised. First time at Caravan and really enjoyed the experience. Tapas style small plates were delicious with three sharing.
Great food and service! Every dish we had were outstanding
The salmon rice bowl was pure food joy and the service was very patient with us while we waited for one of our party to arrive.
Great for a business breakfast - fast and attentive service and great value for money. Lots of choice on the menu and the staff very friendly.
Great food, tasty veg, strong coffee, helpful service. Not my first time, it won't be my last. Loved it!
We had a beautiful tasty meal here which was very healthy and we loved the ambience with the candlelight. All in all a great experience
Great food, but noise level too loud, spent the meal shouting to each other over the table. Asked if music could be turned down, or if we could be moved both No. food was delicious.
A pre Christmas lunch in a busy restaurant. Service was good and attentive. Food was great especially the anchovy pizza! Lots of small plates which are great to share.
Having been to two of Caravan's restaurants, I can say that the food is delicious and well prepared. This despite a surprisingly long menu. Service was also very efficient. And helpful, as one of our party has a dairy intolerance. But very low lighting and noise do detract from the experience somewhat. We noticed other tables also using their phones to see the menu more clearly. Nevertheless, we still had a very good meal and a rousing political discussion. Do visit.
Like the menu, staff friendly and helpful, pleasant buzzy place
Jalapeño on toast, egg and chorizo was excellent.
Startlingly good service & wonderful flavours
I have only eaten twice at Caravan and both time I have been blown away by the quality and deliciousness of the food, reasonable price too. I would love to know how to cook these dishes.
The second time I have been disappointed with the service here. I've had to chase the waiters down to get some attention and then on this occasion they forgot to record one of our meals so it never arrived. Not sure if they were just under-staffed over Christmas but it wasn't very impressive in front of a client i had taken out.
Great food and staff. Very loud but to be expected for a popular location.
The food was delicious and there's a nice atmosphere in the room. The staff are friendly and attentive, but we did feel a little rushed. The waiter came to take our food order within about 2 minutes of the last guest in our party sitting down - and then our food arrived even before our teas and coffees did. So worth bearing in mind if you're looking for a long, relaxed breakfast! But on the whole it's a great place to go with a nice menu.
Very busy and noisy but for a good reason! Lovely staff and amazing food. Will definitely go again.
Nice cosy atmosphere at the Bankside Caravan. Menu is varied and interesting - if not rather hard to read - tiny typeface, dim lighting! Lots of choices for my coeliac dining partner. We were very impressed with our choices - tasty large salad bowls as a main course and interesting desserts. Didn't try the coffee - too late in the day - but the fresh peppermint tea was good.
It was busy - Friday evening - but felt relaxed enough to linger. service was good. Will definitely go back to try more of the dishes on the menu.
Service was very poor
Waited 45 minutes for waiter to come to table
First drinks were served only to two of the four people
At our table one hour later the one hour and half later the
Other people had ordered ginger ale that was served
Poor management and service
Excellent food. Service was roboticaly over efficient. One had the impression that they wanted you to finish the meal as quickly as possible so that they could get on with Mr Muscling the table for their next customer. Background music was too loud for the poor acoustic s of an old industrial building.
Excellent food and exceptional service
Really great food, good wine list, not extortionate prices, and the service is friendly and attentive. A little noisy for me, but otherwise highly recommend
Perfect for an informal lunch meeting in one of their booth style 4-seaters.
The food was delicious, reasonable pricing and we weren't overly bugged by waiters as they knew we were having a meeting. Thanks guys!
Great ambience - somewhere between chilled out and lightly buzzy.
Will definitely be returning for a meeting there again in the near future.
Great service, inventive dishes and scrumptious food - love this place! Even better for dinner than brunch. The vibe is a bit trendy but still welcoming.
Staff were sullen, they made us wait outside until 8am and when they opened the door they didn't greet us just walked off. It ruined the whole thing
Overall a really nice experience, great restaurant (layout, decor and atmosphere), friendly and attentive staff, lovely food and fair prices. Our only slight frustation was that, even though we booked for 5, we were initially stuffed into a booth made for 4 people.
But we'd definitely go back. Thank you.
Definitely coming back!
