Easy going and professional. Great on all counts.
Not good food, very bad quality
Ambience is nice, but the food is overpriced and of very poor quality and taste
Only negative thing was the lighting - a bit too dark to the point that it's almost impossible to read the menu.
Great food, lots of choice. Great coffee. Staff were attentive. Beautiful decor. Loved the Aesop in the bathroom. Please have coconut bread with lemon & rhubarb on the menu everyday rather than just the weekend!!
Being asked to vacate your table with food still in front of you, being moved to the bar and then seeing your table left empty for 1/2 hour, not a great experience!
I had booked in advance but they had still put me and my friend on a table squeezed in between two others, despite the restaurant not being full at this time. However, the staff were very accommodating when I requested we move to an end table.
The food was good, the layout of the menu made it a little hard to read at a glance or identify which item is the main ingredient but the food was enjoyable. I loved the potato bread and the braised Oxtail.
All in all a good meal and dining experience
Eaten here a few times when visiting London and always been impressed with the place, the food and service. Great value, interesting dishes and knowledgeable staff. We if I had a negative comment it would be that it was a bit too dark in the evening - I couldn’t read the menu where I was sat without some illumination from my phone!
Very good food.
I took my parents - one of which is now 80 years and the lighting was far too low for him to be able to read the menu because the print was also very small. Also, it was very loud with chatter, which you would expect on a Friday evening. However, this was compounded by loud music. The lovely food and good service was ruined by the fact that we couldn’t communicate. I would only recommend visiting here with a group you want to talk to at a quiet time.
Interesting variety of dishes on the menu. Good for vegetarians as well.
Please please don’t ever take the crispy tofu off the menu!
Alway enjoy Caravan. Their menu is quite good for when you go eating with people with dietary requirements (vegetarian, lacto free, gluten free); it's a big menu with lots of small dishes, so there's bound to be something they can eat.
Great food! The jalapeño corn bread and oxtail with polenta were my favourites. Drinks were also great. Not cheap as the portions are small so it all adds up, but it's worth it. Vegetarians are also very well catered for. I would come back!
Went for Sunday brunch, the food was delicious! However the service was very slow, with us having to chase up every drinks order because they had forgotten them. Everything tasted great, just need some more attentive service.
One of my favourite restaurants :) Delicious food with plenty of interesting veggie options, friendly and attentive service, lovely building with great ambience - what's not to like?
Nice feel however, service could have been better. Sat at the bar as I was a line diner. Unfortunately I had to flag the servers a number of times to be seen to. Every time I looked over, the main server was having a good old chat and laugh with two diners right at the middle of the bar. This really took away from the experience.
Food and ambience of the restaurant was great. Staff were really friendly and helpful, suggesting what was good and what they could do to provide us vegan options. Not a single moment did we feel rushed to order, return our table or leave, great location for a catch-up meal.
Amazing food, great service. Wonderful atmosphere. Will definitely be back.
Great place to meet for lunch. Tables are a bit too close together so felt a bit cramp. Food was ok though I really disliked the metal plates covered in scratches with my pizza. A bit like eating with nails off a blackboard. Apart from that, pretty good.
I've been a regular at Caravan Bankside since it opened, but after the experience on this booking I'll have to seriously reconsider coming for dinners or recommend to visiting friends from overseas. It seems the Friday night dining is more of a raucous pub atmosphere these days. We had the first round table next to the far left side of the bar. I understand that you have patrons sitting at the bar enjoying drinks, and this is fine up to a point. On the night we went the number of bar patrons were hopelessly over capacity and the space between the bar, the staff service point and our first table became blurred with a group of inconsiderate, obviously inebriated bar patrons. If you take dinner bookings for tables close to the bar, please ensure crowd management around the bar so that it doesn't infringe on the dining experience of customers sitting down. The food as always was enjoyable but I spent the whole dinner apologising to my overseas guests.
Great place to enjoy a good meal in a cosy place, this restaurant was really nice!
A fantastic lunch spot. Always buzzy in the week whenever I've been. Good, varied menu - small plates, mains and even pizza - never tried the pizza but the all of the small plates were delicious. Love it! Friendly staff too
Great combination of dishes and tastes. This is a popular local place and always popular whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Impeccable - I would visit 100 times and never be bored.
Lovely place for dinner, with a great atmosphere and delicious food. Service was smiley and helpful. Will definitely return!
Had the duck confit which was great, the atmosphere was cool as well but the service was rather slow and inattentive
So badly lit that a torch was necesssry to read the menu. Some indifferent staff. Careful and unusual menu.
I had dinners with friends here on a Thursday evening. The decoration is tasteful and trendy in old warehouse converted style with a relaxing, chilled vibe. The staff was helpful and friendly. About food, we had a nduja pizza (quite spicy) and 3 small plates: croquet, oxtails, and roasted cauliflowers to share and they were all fairly good. However, the disappointment is the drinks: I ordered a cocktail which turned out to be overpowered with bitter taste (the Pamplemousse ). I could not help but check with the staff if it is the right cocktail I ordered, which they explained that the bitter taste is due to the grapefruit and kindly offered me a replacement. My replacement cocktail (a Toast Too) still tasted strongly bitter, that it almost remained untouched at the end of the meal. We had a nice dinner overall but I thought it could proved much nicer gesture if the staff/ manager have chosen to take the undrinkable cocktail off the bill.
Really nice food and good atmosphere.
Only criticism is that the restaurant was a little dark and the font on the menu too small to read in the bad lighting. I watched everyone around the restaurant squinting and holding their menu to the nearest light source!
I have been to Caravan bankside on numerous occasions for team meals and with friends for cocktails. The food and drinks are great, everything I have eaten here is delicious and the staff are attentive. Would definitely recommend.
Great atmosphere, excellent food especially Pizza and very reasonable
I really enjoyed my birthday brunch at Caravan, it was something a little bit different and catered very well to the intolerance's of the group (dairy-free & yeast-free). I would recommend this to a friend who wants something a bit different than the run of the mill! And I really liked the Caravan Bankside venue.
Good food, always some good dishes on the menu out of the ordinary. The staff at Bankside were great, very helpful and happy to tweak dishes for children. Also do a very nice Bloody Mary. Not the cheapest place, but you certainly get what you pay for.
Lovely dinner with friends here at the Bankside location, with good portion sizes of small plates to share, great pizzas and very innovative desserts. Will recommend!
The food was okay.. reasonably priced and pleasant enough although not spectacular but the poor service really let the place down... we wouldn’t go back
Caravan has a delicious menu, and is a great place for a catchup with friends
Very nice venue but a bit busy and loud however it was during Xmas so that’s expected. Food was very good, tasty, good quality and nice presentation. Service was too cold and robotic and didn’t warrant a 12.5% service charge. Still a great place though and I would visit again.
Food was delicious! Hummus and lamb meatballs where exceptional.
Great from start to finish. Fabulous inventive food. Will go back.
