Conveniently located between Bank and Cannon Street tubes. Menu based on sharing plates. Could end up getting expensive if you ordered a lot but we had plenty of food and a bottle of wine for £30 a head. The main guy was super helpful with ordering and even bought us over a free dish. Everything was pretty decent. My favourite being the wontons. Wasn't a fan of the cornbread - supposed to be a signature dish but found it a bit dry and tasteless.
Always a great place for a breakfast meeting!
Caravan is perfectly located in the city. The service is good, the menu is wide-ranging and it is good value for money.
This is a good place for a catch up with friends, although it can be a bit noisy. The small plates are a good option if you're not up for a full meal.
Good food, well prepared. Went on a busy Thursday pm. Bit noisy when full, so not a place for business/intimate lunches.
Coffee could be alot better!
Everything was amazing, cocktails, service and food. Couldn’t have been better!
Absolutely love this place! Great food and service.
Really delicious food, helpful about allergies and very friendly staff. Loved it!
Great atmosphere, good food and fantastic customer service
Great place for brunch. Overall the meals were very good. Only issue we had was that the scrambled eggs strangely came with sourdough drowned in olive oil - to the point we could taste the olive oil and feel the oil in our throats for hours after.
Food was really delicious and very reasonably priced. For my taste the music was too loud meaning the rest of the restaurant was loud and so made the ambience quite in your face.
Caravan always serves up a delicious, imaginative and healthy feast; buzzing on a Friday lunchtime.
We started outside, wanting a couple of drinks before moving inside to eat. Service was very slow to begin with - we had to ask to order drinks - but was much more attentive when we moved inside. We ordered a range of small plates and one large to share, all of which ranged from good to excellent (the squash on tahini was an unexpected highlight). We stayed on for drinks and didn’t feel rushed or any pressure to keep ordering. The final bill was a little less than expected for the quality and quantity of food and drink. Would return.
The small plate menu was unusual and very good quality - would definitely recommend! Call to book a table outside when the sun is out... :)
We really enjoyed the food and decor and service, although the music was far too loud and it was hard to hear conversation. It was a Tuesday dinning not a club so really was the one thing that disappointed
The food was really tasty and a fun and buzzy atmosphere on a Friday night.
Kitchen equipment broken when we were there, waitress didn’t add any clarity to what was written on menu and coffee took too long so was tepid.
Very tasty though (including coffee!)
There was an error in the booking.
When we arrived staff were apologetic in acknowledging the error.
There were no tables available.
We ate in another establishment nearby.
Open Table is aware of this and should not have sent the survey to us
Three friends met for dinner after work and felt the need for a cocktail to wind down from the day. The coffee daiquiri was delicious! We ordered 9 dishes to share, including crispy tofu ( much better than I expected), jamon croquettes and lamb meatballs. All dishes were good and left us feeling ‘treated’. A nice glass of wine to go with the food. We shared a dessert which was just enough sweetness with fresh mint tea. Service was friendly and timely.
Good spot adjacent to Cannon Street station. Decent food/coffee although slightly on the expensive side i.e. £14 for a chicken dish / main course.
Visited Saturday for a family birthday meal.
Food was good, some was great. Service was friendly, and we weren't in a rush which was good because I'd say the restaurant was down a staff member or two.
Biggest issue, which to be honest was little mindblowing was the heavy use of peanuts in the menu.....
My daughter has a sever peanut allergy which is a source of significant stess, and whilst the restaurant acknowledged it, a surpringly high number of items included peanuts.
Most surprising was to hear peanut oil was used for items that didn't obviously include nuts.
Is it really necessary to cook cauliflower in peanut oil ? And chicken wings ?
The uncertainty about what actually did and did not include nuts was a big cause of stress for my daughter, not to mention the reason for a lot of hand washing etc...
Not for anaphylactics...
Unbelievable food and service. Music good be a smidge quieter
Good food, energetic atmosphere but a bit loud if you want to have a proper catch up.
Exceptionally good service, attentive staff, and creative takes on classic dishes, using very good ingredients.
Lovely food and setting - staff very helpful
Delicious range of food. Perfect for sharing. Great service as well
Came here for brunch which was generally busy but got seated straight away. Was my first visit there and wasn't disappointed with the food or the ambience etc.The service however was pretty poor. The serving staff took a while to take our orders.Whilst we werent ina rush to leave, it took almost 15 mins to even get served at one point. The other side of the restaurant was busy and we were on a quieter side but that shouldn't defer the frequency of staff serving us.
Had a great experience overall and hoping the service was a one off!
Good place for a brunch in the centre of London. Good food, nice waiters, good overall experience.
We enjoyed our meal, the food was lovely, and we enjoyed watching the activity in the open kitchen, service was efficient and friendly, getting the bill at the end of the meal took a little time but there again it was a Friday lunchtime in the City.
Went here last Thursday for a monthly catch up with friends, very friendly staff and atmosphere.
Really tasty and unusual menu - great for something different. Easy to share with a group.
Food was perfectly fine without being particularly noteworthy (avo on toast and scrambled egg with smoked salmon). And system they have means they aren’t able to link beverage order to come at the same time as food order - each is ready when it’s ready - which seems a bit odd in days of technology. Staff were nice.
Caravan City is the perfect place to grab a breakfast coffee or lunch and ideally located close to Bank and Cannon Street stations. Lovely atmosphere and great staff!
Really enjoyed our time at Caravan, food was amazing and staff were friendly enough. I think the staff could do with some more training, the bartender and the waitress were both a bit confused by our orders like they didn’t know the menu well. They had to come back to double check at the table. We also waited a while for our dessert order and someone to come over to ask if we wanted the bill.
Really great food with a good atmosphere. On this occasion, the service was slightly slow which left one of our colleagues not eating at the same time as the rest of the party. However, this was rectified quite quickly. Would dine again.
The food is good, especially the jalapeno cornbread.
However, the service was very hit and miss - they completely forgot to bring two of the dishes we ordered but these items still appeared on the final bill. They also kept coming with free dishes - there might have been an issue between the kitchen and the service staff communications. They also ran out of a dish by 1pm (which is a bit strange).
Overall, food is good but service is hectic and not smooth running.
Had been looing for ward to this visit for some time as it was highly recommended.
Alas, the visit itself was not a success, staff where wonderful and fully deserving of both 5 stars and a better location.
A missing chef meant menu items where not avaialbe, some only revelaed after the orders had been taken.
Orders arrived at different times due to the kitchen issue , and to be honest, whoever created the dishes was tring too hard to.... "Heston" a brunch menu.
Nothing wrong with the food, but there was more effort than flavour in some dishes.
Hopefully the experinece was just a one off, bad day, but all I can rate is on what we experienced.
The salads are listed underneath but separately to the small plates. I ordered a chicken salad for £10.50 and expected a main meal. It was a small bowl with 2 small pieces of chicken. We had to order a 3rd salad to make a meal so over £30 on 3 small salads. Not great for hungry people expecting a main course salad!
Been to the Kings Cross restaurant and hadn’t realised there was one in the city. Food delicious as always. So love their cornbread. Best I’ve ever had.
