Lovely meal, only downside - would have been nice if we were allowed the table for slightly longer as we were ushered out
EXCELLENT as always.
Very good food as usual with lots of vegetarian options, nice staff too
Great except for the general noise level - competing with the music
Not as good as expected in terms of food and service. We were rushed to leave the restaurant at a certain time, although the place was half empty
The coffee was superb, with good food considering what we paid. The service really let the visit down, our waiter lacked warmth and barely communicated with us even neglecting to say thank-you even after a 12.5% service charge. I doubt we'll rush back.
Things started badly but rapidly improved! Arrival was dreadful: the “greeter” could not have been less charming; in an empty restaurant our table (at 10.30am) was “not ready”; she told my guest to “go and sit at the bar”; and when I arrived (on time) she instructed me to “go and collect her”. Truly, she could but have been less interested in us if she’d tried! Fortunately, that wait staff were lovely; and the food is up to the standard of Caravan in Exmouth Market and Kings Cross.
None the less, the abiding memory is of the rude and scowling greeter. Chances are we’ll not return.
Fantastic! Great food and service!
I think when I booked a table it says the table will be booked for 130 min. At 1 10 min we where already asked to give the table away. And service is really poor. No connection, like robots and it is expensive. I get better service in PRET!
great venue and location with excellent service.
Fantastic food and great atmosphere. Will definitely be returning.
Excellent food and service
One of my favourite places to eat in soho. Quite reasonable not too heavy and lovely wine selection
Great place to eat. Went after a day out in town shopping with sister in law from Australia and friend from New York. Met other family members coming from work on the city and from home in NW London. Great as we can park out side.
Enjoyed the food. Would like if the food came a few plates at a time not everything at once.
Need to change the menu a bit as after having been a few times would like a few alternatives.
I would go back again. We really enjoyed the Malbec from Mendoza.
Great food, great coffee! Will be back!
It was the first time I’d booked to go to Caravan for breakfast and was quite excited by the menu and the venue layout etc.
I wasn’t so impressed by the waitress who was looking after our table. She was rude and abrupt. She came to us to take our order and barked “ready??” “Are you ready?” No hello, not even a courteous “hi are you ready to order?”
Then she was passive aggressive when we asked her a simple question about the coffee.
The food was lovely and it came out really quickly but when we finished she came back and barked “finished?”
I was annoyed at her approach with us and it made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. She certainly was not like that to other customers.
We won’t be returning.
The food was good (variety, flavours etc.)., however it felt like the food arrived too quickly for a busy restaurant so it didn’t necessarily feel like we were receiving fresh food. I’ve seen and heard more positive reviews for the brunch rather than all day menu so maybe this is why?
Good branch of Caravan Kings Cross. Excellent FOH staff who were helpful and flexible. Good selection of dishes almost all of which were excellent. Professional waiter and fast delivery which worked as it needs to with an hour and a half table turnaround ( which was extended). Interesting wine list. Friendly cocktail waiter. We will be back
The food is lovely and had a very enjoyable lunch with work colleagues.
Had a lovely dinner, only ordered veggie meals & they were all so tasty!
Anything, it was all good! Wine was great too so no worries any any fronts!
Great food, great service.
Nice restaurant with nice environment around the colours the open windows the bar the staff but the food I expected more to be honest our second plate was not really good we felt a little bit burned the bread the bacon the sausage the price was reasonable and the staff 5 stars will recommend
We usually visit Caravan quite frequently for weekend brunches but this time the coffee tasted especially awful, the food arrived not exactly warm and we got asked to leave with a 10 min notice. Food is generally a little pricey but this time was simply not worth it.
Great food. Not your usual fare. Funky atmosphere. Great for a casual lunch.
Delicious food. Bigger restaurant than others in the group so good chance of getting a table.
Everything was great with one exception. I specifically visited this place based on a recommendation to get the Baked Eggs. When we got there and ordered, I was told they weren’t serving them that day, and had to order something else. It was first thing in the morning, so they weren’t sold out or anything. So I was a little disappointed. The breakfast I ordered was very good, as was the cappuccino. Really cool building as well.
Staff was quite rude. We were brought the bill only 1 hour and 10 minutes after arriving, without any comment, while we had said we wanted coffees. We asked for coffees and left the table after 1 hour and 30 minutes, when the bill was brought to us again and went to the counter. Turns out the table wasn't even taken after we left. Caravan Fitzrovia should probably move away from this 'brunch factory' mentality if they want to keep their customers
This is a really lovely place. Great food, great staff, highly recommend.
I was really disappointed with the food. Lack of seasoning and my sourdough pizza was burnt. I don't drink alcohol and most drinks on the menu contain alcohol. Very underwhelming restaurant. Would not recommend.
Lovely waitress who let us take our time. Food was delicious!!
It was our first time and the vibe and food was really good will definitely come again!
my friends and I have been to Caravan many times and always had great food and service. This time however, we were extremely disappointed. as table of 6 arriving separately we were all individually told that our table would be needed within 1 hr 45 mins. during our meal, our waitress constantly reminded us that we would be having to leave by 8.15. at one point she told us we would need to leave at 8.10 which meant we were now expected to leave 5 minutes earlier than we had been told. This had started to impact our enjoyment of our meal. it felt as though no sooner had we sat down we were being asked to go. Finally after being reminded what time we needed to leave AGAIN, i asked to speak to the manager. Nothing happened. Then our bill arrived to our table without us requesting it and then we sat and waited to pay. no one came. I asked for the manager again. Still nothing. Finally despite our now waiting for over 15 minutes to pay the bill - and we are now past 830pm, 15 after we should have left, i found the manager and explained how uncomfortable the entire evening had been. He apologised and said he would email me. Guess what? NOTHING! what a disappointment all round.
Good place for lunch, a lot of choice and not just the same boring choices. Imaginative and tasty.
A perfect setting for a chilled and relaxed breakfast/brunch
We really loved the baked eggs but the fry up and corn bread meals were very small considering they were mains. The ambience and decor was great! Service was also awesome.
Outstanding food and service. Hands-down the best brunch place I have been to in London. My only suggestion would be to increase the default booking duration from 1.5 hours to 2 hours (though I realise such a great place needs to restrict duration to deal with the volume of bookings). I could easily have spent longer there!
I have dined at various caravan restaurants previously and always had a great time. However, last Saturday was a huge disappointment. It took 30 mins to receive our cocktails and that set the tone for the service. Food was great but they were woefully understaffed. The bill had lots of errors and we would have been overcharged if we hadn’t checked it. Such a shame as it was a birthday celebration too.
A great place to lunch, meet friends or business contacts for coffee, etc. Not far from Oxford Circus. Great reception, including a very lovely hostess (who's also a singer!). Highly recommended.
