Not a winning combination
After 25 minutes of no service we got up to leave after our meal and we were welcomed to the restaurant!!! We just wanted to pay and go for pudding somewhere else!
Very disappointed and never again!
Great meal and would definitely return. Only criticism was that it was slightly understaffed meaning the (very pleasant) waiting staff took a while to attend to us. I also didn’t then appreciate being queried as to why we were paying slightly less tip.
Lovely. Enjoyed it
Caravan never fails to be delicious. It's consistently excellent and I always enjoy going there.
Nice food, service a bit slow.
Caravan has an excellent selection of tasty vegetarian and meat dishes. We chose a selection of the nibbles, small plates and salads and found that we had plenty to eat and it was all delicious. The deserts weren't so good - quite basic chocolate ice cream/chocolate cream and some biscuits. Wine selection was also great and good value.
Really great tasting food and place for a catch up!
Atmosphere good, service slow
Delivered the wrong dishes a couple of times.
Side dishes arrived later than main dishes and had to be asked for more than once.
Staff were very welcoming and friendly and service was very professional. Great place for a casual business meeting.
Always delicious especially the cornbread, the burrata and the cauliflower.
I have been to a few of the Caravan branches across London, including at King’s Cross and Bankside and so was a little disappointed with my experience at the Fitzrovia branch, considering my great experiences at the other locations listed. The food, as always, was delicious. We shared around 5 small plates between the three of us, with the cornbread and greens as side orders. However the service is what really let the whole experience down. We waited a long time to get asked what drinks we’d like and then another long while until they arrived. In addition, all of the plates were brought out in a peculiar order, for example we were served our side of greens on its own, with no other plates to accompany it. We also had a really hard job of catching the eye of any of the waiters/waitresses in order to ask for more drinks etc. It wasn’t especially busy for a Saturday night so I am not sure why it took so long to be served. The restaurant is big and all of the customers were really spread out, so this may have been the reason. We ordered two desserts at the end of the meal, the angel food cake which was delicious and the Madagascan dark chocolate cream which was really not good! It was extremely salty, which was not described on the menu so none of us could really eat it. We’d have complained to the serving team, but it was so difficult to catch one of their eyes that in the end we gave up as we needed to leave. We mentioned it at payment and they apologised and said they would tell the chef, but its not what I really expect from a high end eatery such as Caravan.
Kid friendly, great food & amazing service!
Great food, service and venue - everything a brunch should be
Food was fantastic as always but very disappointed with our waiter. I love the friendly warm welcome you always get at Caravan in Kings Cross so my friend and I were surprised by the indifference and rude service we got from our waiter. Definitly not a patch on our fave!
We really liked the food but the service was a bit disengaged. We weren’t asked if we wanted drinks while we were looking at the menu (we did), then several times we were offered food that wasn’t ours and one item we asked for didn’t arrive. It wasn’t especially busy, our waitress just didn’t seem very interested. But we like the room and the food, with better trained servers it would be really good.
It was my birthday and we were a table of 8. Excellent food and service as usual from Caravan and always a recommendation for those that ask.
A great atmosphere and very tasty food to share with friends. Good drinks list.
Lovely breakfast overall. Eggs were underdone, but this was swiftly sorted out by staff when pointed out, although service was a little slow.
A really brilliant experience. This Caravan location offers a much more laid back experience for dinner. Service was really friendly and attentive. Everything we ate was delicious, I am a big fan of small plates and the variety they had on offer meant everyone got a bit of what they fancied. A truly lovely experience from start to finish!
Food was good and our waiter Luke provided exceptional service
Caravan do what they do very well. If you're a fan of big open space dining, relaxed Aussie brunch menus and the latest Kombucha creation then this is the place for you. Another lovely site, light bright, exposed brickwork and groovy sounds. Excellent food.
Very good food at reasonable price and very enjoyable decor
Great food in a great environment. Couldn't recommend enough.
Very disappointing food and service. My partner ordered the pancake which looked good but was under cooked and there was wet batter in the middle. It was replaced but the replacement came back overcooked. The overall service was really unfriendly and inattentive. I was expecting a really nice brunch but that wasn't the case.
Hey this is a great place. A wonderful welcome, the barman’s choice cocktail hit the mark and the service and food were excellent. I’ll be back ...
Always love this place for breakfast!
Great atmosphere and great food as always.
The service is always a little hit and miss though- not in terms of the energy or politeness of the staff. But you an be waiting a long time form order to actually getting your coffee/food.
Love the place. Been there many times. Young lady called Sue is one of the best restaurant staff I came across, great eye she recognised me every single time and remembered my orders.
I love that place, such a good vibe and very good food / service and location
Very good choice of small plates with interesting taste combinations. The pizzas sounded great but we didn’t have room. Good wine choice and also some unusual and tasty non-alcoholic cocktails. We would definitely go back.
We had a nice moment in Caravan Fitzrovia for a Sunday Brunch. I can only recommend the place.
Caravan does great food and the service is usually good but on a quiet Saturday evening (only half of tables occupied) it was poor. After being given approximately two mins to choose drinks and so asked for more time, it then took ages to get anyone's attention. The nibbles (olives, edamame) and main food arrived all at the same time, we only ordered nibbles to have with drinks while we waited for food. Expected better.
Great service, food was delicious.
Good solid experience across the board.
The food was delicious as always. Cod dumplings 10/10
The Bloody Mary was substandard and they need to work on this.
Normally the service is good but that night was confusing, slow and just not the best.
Delicious and different food! Good atmosphere and lovely service
Great breakfast and brunch spot in a central location. They have the regular breakfast options on the menu - full fry up, all sort of eggs, smoothies - and some more unusual options too. The space has big windows looking out the street and feels spacious and pleasant to be in.
I'd recommend this place for business breakfasts, but not for a treat with friends. very expensive for what you get - 2 poached egg on one piece of burnt toast £7? ...
Fantastic selection of juices and food. Very fresh ingredients all beautifully presented. Good ambiance and would definitely recommend and return.
Service was incredibly slow and staff were not attentive at all. We waited along time for coffee, which arrived but after about 30 minutes of waiting for it. Staff were hanging around chatting and were difficult to call over to the table. Restaurant was not busy at all but was the hardest thing ever to get served.
One of my fav places. Food not too heavy and menu not so packed. Great wine too
