Best True French Bistro in town!
Goat Cheese Salad - Spinach
Fig Dressing - Sour Dough Toast
Delicious and relaxing as always!!
Great food - server Kelsey was lovely, as was the bartender
This restaurant has been a good for 20 years- food, service and ambiance are delightful.
Food was very good, salad, beef bourguignon, and chocolate soufflé. Service was very good, and I enjoyed that it was not crowded and tables were very well spaced out.
Great bistro style food and ambiance, friendly and attentive staff. Décor is interesting, in line with the French feel.
My Crouqe Madame was good (their take did not include the classic bechamel sauce). My friend ordered a lamb burger. That was excellent.
We're going to try them again.
As always, everything was delicious! The octopus salad and Tarte Tatin were spectacular.
Really enjoyed the food. Service was excellent. Knowledgeable servers and super attentive. Had the Moules Frites and a Salmon special. Delicious. Cocktails were great and dessert was housemade. Lovely spot. Felt like Paris!
From the moment we sat down the wait I forgot to give us menus not even a menu to scan he didn’t take our entrée order we had to remind him that he needed to take our Andre order he also forgot a couple food items such as an appetizer and kept getting our drinks and correct
Great food and wonderful service. A little pricey, Burt a nice splurge on a special occasion.
Always a great place to eat when I'm in Phildadlophia.
So wonderful to sit outside! Very attentive server, Delicious chicken sandwich and spinach and beet salad. Terrific lunch experience! We weren’t hungry enough to eat what is offered for the lunch special which for $20 is appetizer entrée and dessert. Fabulous deal!
Great atmosphere and great food. It is reminiscent of French bistros that we’ve experienced in Paris and other parts of France. It’s hard to get crepes better than those we’ve had in Paris but the mushroom crepes at Caribou Cafe in Philadelphia are the BEST we’ve ever had. Our other dishes were also exceptional. Hostess, waitress and bartender were extremely friendly and accommodated every request we had. We plan to return again and again. The only negative is the overpriced drinks otherwise this is a grand slam.
The food & service was excellent
Food and wine was amazing. Service was great! Happy you can be open.
The food was fantastic and our waiter was very attentive and friendly. The escargot was amazing and there was not a drop of sauce left on the plate. Both the Char and Salmon entrees were spot on and cooked perfectly. Wine menu had plenty to work with and the Cappuccino cheesecake was definitely award winning.
Delicious daily luncheon specials, attentive waitress and superb bartender. Gracious, well informed, polite. Well priced fare, delightful background music and old world embience.
First time visit for lunch.
We liked our experience in point of ambiance and service, but somehow expected a bit more from the taste of the food. Had Escargot(A), Pate(A+), Seafood crepe(C) and Apple tart(C). So 2 dishes are excellent and 2 are very mediocre and crepe had a very unpleasant undertone in taste and wasn't hot enough to enjoy. All of the savory dishes were accompanied by the same salad of greenery which made them a bit boring to repeat three times in a row. So at the end we had some mixed feeling about the place, but decided to give them another try when in the area.
I go to Caribou quite often and always enjoy the food, regrettably this time I have to say that it wasn’t as good as usual: The snails had a different presentation which didn’t make them as tasty as usual and the ribeye wasn’t very good: greasy and rubberish. Although service and drinks were great.
Wonderful service, delicious food, warm and welcoming ambience! Cannot wait to dine here again!
Awesome charcuterie, mains, desserts, wine, and coffee!
I had a stop and a quick dinner there on the way to the airport to meet my family. I had an amazing experience. The place was almost empty with tables far from each other, so it felt very COVID 19 safe. The food was delicious and the service spectacular- the barmen was right at my table a split second before I was thinking about asking for a glass of vine, or coffee, or takeout burger for my son. I can’t wait to go there again.
Beautiful setting. Spacious. French food that was delicious and authentic. Servers were knowledgeable. The cocktail menu was vast and diverse. My meal was cooked beautiful and classically French. I will be enjoying many meals there again soon.
The food was excellent!!! Differently would go back
The food was salty...the waitress was not attentive...wish I had a better experience
It was Valentine's weekend and I still hadn't made a reservation. even our favorite bistro, Caribou cafe, was booked solid. But I put myself on their waiting list through OpenTable and bingo! We got a table with less than 24 hours to go. The food was great as always - terrific sauces, tender lamb, delicious drinks. The waitress was attentive and friendly but not too. Always love the bistro ambience for a romantic dinner. It's great that Caribou is still around when so many great Center City restaurants seem to be gone forever.
Caribou cafe offered an authentic french dining menu with romantic ambiance. The staff was also friendly and welcoming. However to fully enjoy this place you have to be experimental in the food you try.
Do you want to sit and have dinner in Paris? Either fly there or go to Caribou Cafe in Philly. Perfect atmosphere, well-timed service, great portions of food and extremely tasty - especially the escargot.
This gem in center city has been around for almost 20 years and we try to go as often as possible, either for a romantic dinner, before the theatre or after the theatre or in the past, just to have some drinks at the bar.
I doubt you will find a better value in the city!!
Was nice to be out for Valentine’s Day. Caribou Cafe was very accommodating getting us a nice table. Service was attentive. Food was good but not memorable, menu selection was limited.
The food was outstanding and the waiter made good recommendations, when we asked. In particular, she recommended the bread pudding, which was phenomenal. However, she did not describe the contents of the peasant's platter either before we ordered, or when it arrived. Also, the items we ordered did not come from the kitchen in a good order. Despite these minor problems, we had a wonderful time.
We were there for Valentine’s Day, our second visit during the pandemic. Tables are well spaced, staff is incredibly friendly and efficient, and the food is wonderful. We will definitely be back!
The escargot appetizer and shrimp avocado salad was amazing! So fresh & delicious! I ordered the lamb shank for dinner, it was eh- no flavor and very bland.
Everything was awesome!!! Crepe was the best I’ve ever had.
Food and service were great ! Would come back and recommend!
Food and Service was exceptional... this has become our go to restaurant!!!!
We had a wonderful experience! The food and service were amazing and we hope to be back soon.
the food proved to be excellent and the staff proved generally timely in their service. I would avoid the Sezerac since I’ve had (and can make) better.
Perhaps it was an off night. Although we were excited to begin dining indoors again, the enthusiasm was not shared by the staff at the restaurant. We made an early reservation to avoid a crowd. There were only three other groups dining. Most of the first floor was empty but the greeter chose to take us to the second floor and offer the smallest and worst table by the server bar. We refused that and nothing else happened to make the night more enjoyable.
Always outstanding service
Beautiful food and drink highly recommend! I brought a friend who is from Paris and they can confirm this food reminded them of home!
