Food was poor & is well over priced.
Starter of deep fried cheese was watery as was the chilli dip.
Calamari was so rubbery.
The seafood linguine had no taste to it, 4 small mussels, 2 prawns and 2 inedible squid rings.
The food that I had from the main menu was acceptable, but nothing to write home about. The food from the children's menu was very poor and certainly not worth the money. I shall not be bringing my children to Carluccio's again.
Food was very tasty and the waitress was friendly and informative. Would certainly go back again
The set menu has limited options, but provided good value. My minute steak was excellent. However the pasta dishes were large and looked stodgy, with more pasta than sauce.
Portions were big so we all left waste by the side of our plates - size is not a substitute for quality.
Servie was cheerful but we had to ask for items that otherwise were not provided - for example, a dish to put mussel shells, a fresh set of cutlery. But the waitress was cheerful and food and drinks came quickly.
Good food good quite venue but we did eat on a Tuesday night.
Staff helpful and respected our time to order.
Felt it was a little over priced but probably the norm these days
my,, go to,, when visiting Bury. Nice and clean, good service, food very tasty, nice presentation. Good value for money, if you don't want to eat typical pizzas, burgers, etc.
Nice selection of wine as well.
I'm a regular guest.
Always a pleasure to eat here. Calamari are second to none
My minute steak had been over-cooked and was consequently rather dry and tough.
a pre concert meal and we had a very good experence. Tasty food, served quickly but not abruptly. t he serving staff were all very friendly and nice. we commented that the tarte limoncello was very sweet and not lemony enough an our waitress took note of this in a concerned but friendly manner. hutrrah
Excellent waitress service. Food freshly prepared and hot.
Delicious meal, lovely staff and perfect location
Excellent return to Bury St Edmunds. Really good food and service
Excellent service and friendly atmosphere. Good choice on the menu.
Food was 'mass catering' quality - pasta lacked sauce (beef ragu + papadelle) and lemon sauce was starchy.
Easy eat for evening events in Bury St Edmunds - will try elsewhere next time.
Were extremely disappointed on this occasion. We felt the mains were tasteless, my ravioli needed to be cooked more and had little flavor apart from butter. My partners chicken wasn't fresh it had a boiled texture and again the sauce was very buttery and oily. The garlic bread was dry. Started which was mozzarella and chicken pate were delicious . Also no pizza on menu
A lovely place to eat. The food is wonderful and good value for money. Excellent, very efficient, polite, pleasant and friendly service. Great atmosphere, everywhere spotlessly clean and made us feel very Covid secure. Thank you Carluccios! Can highly recommend. We will be back!
Airy restaurant with low level music which made talking easy. Good food and drink choices on the menu. Service was unobtrusive and friendly. This is my third visit in 3 months.
Our waitress was really attentive and despite us arriving late due to traffic delays she ensured that we was able to get to the Theatre in good time after our meal.
Excellent food and friendly service, lovely professional staff, nice atmosphere. Will definitely return.
Dinner & drinks were brilliant. Codie was an amazing server.
Good food although calamari was thin. Kodi ( waitress) was perfect and enjoyed her company. Even sold me some flatbread!!. Good food and good people . Thank you
Good typical Italian food. Splendid variety , beautifully presented and could imagine ourselves in Italy on our holidays relaxing over our lunch.
Staff very cheerful and helpful. Food good. Reasonable choice of gluten free meals. Pleasant atmosphere.
Arrived early for our booked time. This was not a problem. Very helpful and courteous staff. The service was prompt and the food excellent. Wine by the bottle was, I felt, a bit expensive. However, the quality was good. Would recommend this venue and will find their again.
Unauthentic food, overpriced wine!! the worst espresso I have ever had, unknowledgeable uncaring staff, dated and garish decor and bad ambiance! Altogether an unpleasant dining experience!!.
Fantastic food and great environment to enjoy a great family get together.
Carluccio's is always very good but some the food is a bit overpriced. I had chicken milanese, which is chicken breast fried in breadcrumbs with rocket leaves on the side, £14.++ Now I think they could have included some more vegetables, like a decent salad, or saute mushrooms or potatoes. It so happens I can't eat rocket leaves but my friend kindly gave me lettuce leaves out of her salad. So do check that you're getting value.
We ate outdoors and enjoyed a very good lunch. The starter of figs, goat cheese, and panceta bruschetta was delicious and large enough for a full lunch. I would have it again, but either on its own or with a small green salad for lunch. The porcinni lasagnetta was good, but a too rich and heavy to have on its own as a main. I should have had a small green salad with it and skipped the starter. I took more than half home. The service was friendly and helpful. Before Covid, I went to Carluccio's frequently and it is lovely to be able to do so once, again.
The menu was excellent at Bury St Edmunds Carluccio’s, as was the service. The portion size of one of our four meals (ricotta and spinach ravioli) was a little on the small size but the other three (penne giardiniera, beef ragù pappardelle and chicken saltimbocca) were perfect. Overall we were extremely happy to eat there and will definitely go again.
Service was excellent without being overbearing
Music too loud
Service attentive and pleasant
Lovely evening - extremely helpful staff - so glad the Carluccios chain are continuing- our favourite
Neither of us wanted a big meal, so we both had starters as the main course, with wine and coffee after. We were recognised as regulars. All the staff were helpful and attentive. Very nice atmosphere.
Carluccio's - what can one say about a chain restaurant? It was a quick pre-theatre meal, convenient to the Apex in Bury St Edmunds. The food was ok but nothing to write home about, the waitress looked after us and was pleasant enough but showed most interest in the tip. I have been there before and will go again - for convenience - but not worthy of plaudits.
We are regular visitors. Both of us "secondi" as our only course - the chicken saltimbocca was truly wondeful, and my partner really enjoyed his lamb rump on fridetta.
Greeted with a smile by Izzy, shown to our table, Izzy suggested we try the new
seasonal menu! We did, and were not disappointed! Lovely and fresh with good flavours! Restaurant was very quiet, which was a shame! We could not find any problems with COVID restrictions. Good to back! It’s time in 18 months, will return soon. Keep up the good work Carluccios, Bury st Edmund
From 2 Happy customers.
Brilliant Sunday brunch venue, coffee is super tasty.
It was alright. They are clearly a chain with no room to maneuver from the standard menu.
Great food, service, and atmosphere. Definitely recommend.
A very pleasant lunch spot with tasty, attractive dishes and good coffee to finish.
