we were kucky to be able to rebook our table so we could enjoy a family meal before Berkshire went into Tier 4. Family meal was to celebrate birthday adn didn't let us down, we had a lovely meal,didnt feel rushed and for a couple of hours,we had what felt like a normal family or table . all at Carluccios made us feel very welcome and comfortable

Although slightly pared down, due to Tier 2 restricting how many people can eat together, we enjoyed a nice selection of food and drink. Carluccios is such good value for money, it's been a favourite with our children since they were toddlers and now they are 16 and 14 and still enjoy coming.

We visited on a Monday evening and there were a few people so it was busy enough but plenty of room to social distance.

Fingers crossed they can keep open.

My office is very close, and I’ve missed dining here while working from home. It’s good to see the restaurant open again.
The menu seems to have been pared back and prices increased slightly (which is perfectly understandable in the current economic climate).
Service was good overall, although I was given the wrong main course and we had to wait again while the right one was cooked. The food was delicious, as always.
We look forward to dining again soon.

Was very excited to take my boyfriend to Carluccio’s for his 30th birthday. Had made a note in the reservation that it was his special birthday and even mentioned it to multiple servers but no special service / dessert was given. Service was very average, waiter had the attitude that he just wanted us in and out and didn’t even check how our food was half way through.

Overall, average experience. Probably will avoid next time.

Carlluccios Reading was great as usual. We always enjoy our experience there . Good food reasonably priced , service and ambiance was really good.

Not the cheapest of menus, but we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Good quality ingredients and flavours. Good service.

The desserts we chose were a bit average, but somewhat just because we were too full from our starter and mains to choose ambitiously!

Great atmosphere, great service, tasty food.

The only thing that was unfortunate was that a lot of food had gone off the menu but it didn’t matter as all the food is lovely. We fully understood that because of the pandemic and the last day of eating out Carlluccios had been busy and food was reduced in quantity but not quality. On a positive note there was a good atmosphere and the food was the usual good standard . The staff were amazing and we were made to feel wanted and welcome , they were all in good spirits especially Luigi our waiter who is always delightful. As soon as Carlluccios opens again we will be back .

The food was good, and the service was average. Didn’t like the deco and discomfort of the chair though.

Food was very delicious and up to a good standard. The cocktails weren’t too bad, maybe slightly watery for their price tag. Service was slightly abrupt, the waiter touched our cutlery while placing it on the table, instead of bringing it on a tray and let us pick it up. Furthermore, when we asked for the bill and got it brought to us, we had to wait for over 30 minutes to actually pay and leave. I would understand if it had been busy, but it was my company and 2 other tables, hence it shouldn’t have been more than a 10 minute wait. Also the atmosphere reminds of a school cafeteria. Overall, the food was delicious, which was the most important thing, but they should definitely work on their service, so they can make the customers’ experience even better.

Always such a treat, thanks so much to the Team at Reading, wonderful service, very warm welcome, food is delicious! Also the amazing Christmas offerings to buy on the way out, couldnt resist. We are going to miss you this month in lockdown.

Great service from staff under Covid conditions

Would not recommend to anyone concerned about Covid. The restaurant is so noisy that staff have to lean uncomfortably close to speak to you, the only additional Covid measures were staff wearing masks - nothing else enforced like temperature checks, customers wearing masks, etc, and the tables were so close together you could not get to your seat without brushing past others.

A longstanding favourite of Reading, Carluccio’s never disappoints!

As always Carluccio’s was great food, service , value for money and good surroundings. Safety and hygiene for everyone was good

A really friendly professional Team. Service is excellent, always. Food is delicious, always, and the wine is wonderful. We love coming here, always a treat. Thank you to the Team who are coping so admirably in these difficult times.

We had an evening meal for two and found the place was fairly busy, but because it’s quite spacious social distancing was correctly observed. We had starters of Arancini balls and Calamari. The Calamri starter was a bigger portion than expected, so was a bit of a bonus, so we shared that. The Arancini balls were very tasty served with a tomato dip. Both were nicely made and very Tasty. For main I had one of the chicken escalopes (the one with prosciutto ham on it, this was a little served with herb potatoes and rocket. The dish was pretty good, only let down by the chicken itself which was a bit lacking in taste. My wife had the veggie salad, which was extremely good, again it was pretty substantial, but consisted of sun dried tomatoes, barley, avocado, goats cheese and roasted courgettes, I think had the better option. We had a beer and a Negroni cocktail, which my wife was keen on as its not often served in restaurants, I think she found it was very Strong, but was perhaps she started drinking it before we started eating. We has. Rum baba dessert (Which was rather small) with a coffee and an Affogato which was very good. All in the bill was £63, but the bigger bonus is that you get a 20% discount on your next visit with your receipt. Which we will definitely do as we really enjoyed our visit. Highly recommend this place.

The re-opening of Carluccio’s in Reading was such good news as I’d heard that the Covid virus had resulted in permanent closure of the chain. Booking a table online was really straightforward and the restaurant was all geared up for safe dining, without being oppressively restrictive, and there was a good atmosphere, despite there being fewer people. Carluccio’s chefs once again produced excellent cuisine, brought to the table by friendly and helpful waiting staff. We were three very contented diners when we left the restaurant - welcome back Carluccio’s! 😷
