Chef Brad Carter is passionate about everything British, focussing on wild & organic ingredients carefully selected from local & sustainable suppliers, often to taste & texture to form a distinct, considered reflection of the season. Together with partner Holly, they have created a relaxed & informal Neighbourhood restaurant full of passion.
The drinks offering is also organic highlighting bio-dynamic agriculture wherever possible & featuring many natural, minimal intervention wines. A true reflection of natures bounty & thoughtful winemaking.

As always, the service and food quality was exceptional. Simply cannot be faulted. All of the staff are fantastic. I almost fell off my chair because the food was so good.
Absolutely amazing food! Cannot find fault and the staff were so friendly and accommodating they took away formality of it all and made it so easy to converse, ask questions and feel at ease. Could not recommend it enough. We even had the pleasure of.meeting Mr carter himself who came out to wish my wife happy birthday. A true gentleman who cared about what we thought and was open to any criticism although I struggled to find any!
Was a great experience lovely food and drink plus great professional service
Amazing food experience had the 6 course tasting menu which including the snacks etc came to about 13 different courses to try. Staff very knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing, the sommelier seemed to know his stuff but as driving stuck to the soft mocktails which were nice.
Lovely food, staff were amazing. Few courses were not to our taste. Wine selection was different but fully enjoyed both bottles that we had.
The food is very nice in most of Michelin one star restaurants in birmingham. It’s absolutely great value of money to enjoy a Michelin meal with friend or having a date . The service reaches the standard, the staff are friendly and warm.
The service and the food was wonderful . They made us welcome from the moment we walked in until we left. Thank you all at Carter's
excellent 4 course lunch! High standard of cooking and very imaginative courses with some lovely little twists to each of the dishes. Excellent service, very friendly and all staff knowledgeable and passionate about the menu and restaurant. Would definitely recommend and return!
As brilliant as ever.
Wonderful food and great service
It’s a place for that special meal to celebrate with superb food and staff who deliver service with efficiency, good humour and are really very knowledgeable about where the food, wine etc is sourced. A truly amazing experience we can thoroughly recommend.
Carters was everything I dreamt it would be. From start to finish the team and the food was outstanding and everyone were going above and beyond. The team was chatty and helpful with recommendations to Birmingham as we were visiting and their knowledge was something else! I can’t fault the experience at all.
Great evening celebrating our wedding anniversary. Very knowledgeable table staff, amazing food and a very relaxed atmosphere.
One of Brum's best. Never fails to impress. Delicious from start to finish.
A lovely and welcoming atmosphere, the staff were a delight and really made the evening feel special. The food was delicious, with well crafted dishes that combined flavours extremely well. The wine pairing was brilliant, loved every glass and it enhanced the meal, as did the sommelier's delivery and presentation. All in all, a special night out.
We went to Carters on a friends recommendation for my wife's birthday and it didn't disappoint! The food was fantastic and the vegetarian menu for my wife was excellent. The service was exceptional and the place relaxed. We thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend the place to anyone.
Holly and Brad run the best restaurant in town. The welcome, service and food are wonderful.
Excellent food, friendly and informative service, just love eating there. Perfect way to spend my birthday.
Excellent food and incredibly accommodating staff. Knowledgable and interesting.
Worth every penny.
Great combinations, for example oyster cooked in beef fat. Pork butter to go with the sweetcorn bread etc... Small portions but don't be fooled, you will walk out feeling full! Would recommend trying the orange wine.
The meal was fantastic. All courses well explained. Very creative, tasty and unusual courses- and plenty of it !
This was a celebration of 36 years of marriage! Went for 6 courses and matching wines. The food was exquiste and the wines were spectacular. The unfiltered ones were a new experience for us and very interesting indeed. All the front of house staff were knowledgable and friendly
The only disappointment was the pork, which was smoked but lacked taste and felt a little raw. The wine list whilst eclectic does not contain any well known lines, also price range is high.
Our third annual visit; amazing place with great food and wine. Very friendly and not at all pretentious.
This remains as a go to venue for a food based good time experience
Relaxed atmos - brilliantly simple but imaginative food combinations are an absolute joy - staff are incredibly informative and engaging - wonderful to revisit a restaurant where the M* award has not diverted from fundamentals
Look forward to an early return
Fantastic service and the food was phenomenal.
Really felt welcomed and relaxed.
Lovely birthday treat if a bit on the pricey side. We had the 6-course menu but with snacks and desserts it seemed like many more. The experience took over 2 hours and we left full and very sleepy. The servers were very knowledgable and the wine pairing was delicious.
My husband and I visited here for our anniversary from start to finish it was fab. Will certainly return here.
Our party could see why it was Michelin starred, but the food wasn’t to our taste unfortunately. However, the service was brilliant and our wine semillier was stand out for his lively engagement!
As always great service and hospitality from the team, and of course superb and imaginative food and wine.
Perfect for the birthday celebration, we really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you
Every course was absolutely delicious, well put together. The staff were very knowledgeable and very friendly. Extra care was given to provide a few little extras as we were celebrating our recent wedding.
+ Delightful room with a laid back atmosphere
+ Very knowledgeable and passionate staff
+ Snacks were wonderful and very inventive
+ Quality and plentiful seafood on the menu
+ Extensive wine list and great pairings mostly
- Desserts not having the wow of the rest of the menu
- Beer being passed off as a wine pairing on of the courses
- Went nearly half an hour without a drink around halfway through
- Our bill was wrong twice! First under by a long way and then later found out that I'd overpaid slightly.
To sum up the evening started with a bang and then fizzled out somewhat unfortunately.
Perfect combination of relaxed atmosphere and great food. An easy going restaurant serving top quality food! Great wine to go with it. Service is great and by far the best some Lowe I have had the pleasure of meeting!
We found the service to be pleasant and friendly. Waiters were knowledgable about the food and wines. We chose the four course menu with wine pairing. However we did not find the menu to be particularly imaginative or flavoursome. We have been to all the Michelin star restaurants in Birmingham now, some more than once and I am sad to have to say Carter’s is our least favourite .
Superb food, drink and service! Incredibly well thought out, fresh, seasonal menu which was complimented beautifully by the exceptional wine flight. All members of staff go out of their way to accommodate and welcome and are all very knowledgeable. What an absolute gem to have in Moseley.
Beautifully crafted food and amazingly unobtrusive but informative service. Highly recommended.
An amazing, thoughtful meal with innovative flavours and fabulous wine pairing. Knowledgeable staff with passion for discovering little gems around the world while supporting local produce.
Felt this was like The Kings New Clothes. Have been to other taster restaurants which gave explosions of taste in all courses, this sadly did not happen here. Tablespoon size portions of mostly fish, strawberry course was literally one strawberry, fig ice cream with three raspberries course was spoilt by being on fermented rice which tasted awful. The evening was to celebrate my birthday and the lovely gesture of a plate with handmade chocolate and a happy birthday note from the chef was handed with gusto to my partner - I had to say it was my birthday and not his. The staff were very attentive but unfortunately I have to say that overall I was really disappointed.
We went to Carters to celebrate my daughters 20th birthday. Lunch was amazing value at £40.00 a head, the menu was fun and delicious, it was great having the set menu, I don't think any of us would have chosen what we had, and it was all totally delicious, the 'snacks' were wonderful morsels, the pate with savory grains was to die for, but would have been too rich if there was more, the baby herbs that you cut yourself with scissors great fun, inventive and a lovely freshener. Every course was bought and explained, all were seasoned to perfection and we loved every mouthful! We didn't have wine as we are not keen at lunchtime, I was happy with water which was topped attentively, Pippa had the house made strawberry drink, fresh and different. The service was perfect. Many thanks for an all round fantastic experience!
Superb food and service. The dining experience at Carters is always outstanding.
