Casa do Frango
Chicken was better last time I went, maybe because they were super busy
But still a top too place
We went for a family lunch on Sunday. The place looks lovely, the food and wine were delicious and the staff incredibly friendly. Would definitely recommend.
I absolutely love this place. Small menu, but truly amazing food. Highly recommended for a friend lunch or a more casual and fun work lunch
Amazing place and delicious food. Excellent service.
I had booked a table a week before for my husband's birthday and the earliest late dinner was at 9.30. We e arrived half an hour early and were told to wait at the bar and they would come and get us. Since they never did, at 10pm I went to check and they said there had been some misunderstanding and they had given our table to somebody else. We still hoped we would get served pretty quickly, but this didn´t happen, we had to wait for a long time, then the waitress forgot half of our starters, and then the manager came to apologize because they were running out of chicken and we would have to wait a little longer. He offered starters as a compliment but afterwards they were included in the bill. The food was good but honestly I wouldn't go through all that hustle again!
We had a really enjoyable, relaxed meal here with family friends last Sunday. Very friendly service and delicious food. Not a cheap lunch but the ambiance was such that it was just a real treat. Thank you!
Delicious Portuguese seafood, chicken and desserts in a beautiful sunlit building just five minutes from Borough Market. Highly recommended!
The service was some of the best I've had in London, they were extremely attentive and friendly. The food was good, but the chicken was surprisingly a little dry.
Really good environment and beautiful decoration, very alternative. The food was great and very tasty with good portions. Really recommend this restaurant, specially for who wants to remember or taste a bit of portuguese food.
Amazing Portuguese Chicken!
Reminded me a lot of my home.
Great tasting food and ambience - bright airy with greenery.
Great food , authentic portuguese dishes and good wine list.
Amazing space. Delicious food. Great service.
We had a great experience and all the food was lovely as per normal. It’s in a lovely setting, and the ambience is great.
The waiter was so rude, very slow service.
The food was tasty but the room was very loud and we struggled to get served.
We were a big group and I really enjoyed the experience. Food really good - simple yet original menu. I love the venue.
Some of the service could have been nicer but on balance great experience.
You don't expect to be in such a beautiful space when you pass the Southwark's railway arches, lined with filthy commercial bins. But once you go up those stairs of an old Victorian building, you land in an indoor garden with its hanging foliage and giant potted plants.
Specialising in Portuguese grilled chicken, this is no Nando's. And yes, the chicken is good! I don't usually like breast but I ate half of one. Moist, tender, flavoursome- however good a chicken can get. Order the piri piri if you want a mild heat to it or lemon and garlic (my favourite) if you want a good fragrant garlicky punch.
But what really makes this place shine are its starters and sides.
A shot of Algarvian Gaspacho was so refreshing. Perfectly balanced flavours unami flavours with a good crunch from the croutons.
Bacalhau and chickpea fritters were fried to golden, a lovely thin crisp exterior yet fluffy within, finished with a lemon aioli dip. Would have preferred a higher ratio of salt cod though as the taste of chickpea was the dominant flavour.
Pork belly ribs were nice, lovely layer of fat to keep it moist and tender, served with a lovely zesty salad to keep it light.
My favourite dish by far was the octopus rice, sweetened by lovely generous chunks of tender octopus with a good hit of garlic.
With our chicken we ordered a side of African rice too. This was Ren's favourite. The rice had a lovely paprika chorizo flavour running through it and those salty crispy baked chicken skin shards on top were ridiculously moreish.
Batatas Fritas were one of the best fries I've had for a while, beautifully seasoned, crisp exterior and fluffy within.
We ended the meal with a raspberry and cinnamon pastel de nata, both with it's crispy and flakey pastry and soft oozing custard in the middle and both equally nice. Definitely needed a side of vanilla ice cream to take that sweetness off it.
Is definitely one of the best chicken restaurants I’ve been to in London.
Had a problem with a few items we ordered not arriving however we were offered desserts on the house ! Lovely food and a nice atmosphere .
Great relaxed atmosphere accompanied by good quality food. A relatively basic menu but that was all that was needed. Chicken was moist and very tasty and the sangria hit the spot.
Well worth a visit.
Dinner was amazing
One of the most friendliest, authentic Portuguese cuisine I've experienced in London. Service was beyond friendly and felt very welcomed. The rustic with greens vibe were very calming. Food was excellent. Overall experience was beyond par. My 3rd visit there and never a let down!
Great food, amazing locale, very reasonably priced.
Easygoing as long as you love chicken
Only issue is that a ‘pint’ comes in a 400ml glass. Not quite sure how they manage to make this a pint... otherwise, really enjoyed it
Took my team for a late afternoon lunch and we had a great time. The food is amazing - you must like chicken as there is not a wide range of options to select - tasty, well prepared and for the size of our table, came pretty quickly. Staff were extremely friendly and accommodating and after our meal, we went into the Green Room, which was opened up an hour earlier than normal, just for us. Cocktails in the Green Room were amazing and reasonably priced for central London.
The resturant has a rustic chique ambiance to it, while the Green Room made us all feel like we were thrown back into a prohition Speak Easy.
We thoruoghly enjoyed our meal and experience and will definitily be coming back!
Not really a place to take your girlfriend and parents for a birthday dinner. Very casual atmosphere, service was quite slow and it wasn’t busy. Chicken looked undercooked in places, but over cooked in the middle.
Prompt service, food was packed with flavour, wonderful bright ambiance.
Great fresh food. Friendly and relaxed service which lets you take your time over lunch. Would recommend 100 percent
Lovely staff, great food, nice atmosphere. Thank you !!
