The restaurant serves a 6-course tasting menu with a focus on natural and low intervention wines.
A reduced snack menu will also be available for those wanting a small bite to accompany the wines on their curated wine list.
This is not a restaurant, this is an elevated gastronomic experience. The menu is tailored to the individual. We had a table of a pescatarian, a vegetarian, an allergic to fish but not seafood and an omnivorous. The four set-menus w/ 7 courses catered to all types. The wine was really good (Greek wine was a first!) and the service and staff friendliness beyond the charts. We booked a second visit straight away!
Wow! Flavours were amazing. Service was excellent, passionate staff. They were so helpful and happy to answer any questions. A must visit. We will be going back.
Incredible food and fabulous service in a lovely intimate setting.
Great experience overall and in every department
Brilliant food, creative and full of fresh flavours. Great wine pairing, friendly and helpful service and nice relaxed atmosphere.
Absolutely delicious food. Great service and atmosphere, not too formal or stuffy. The wine pairing was also great with an interesting selection of matching wines. We couldn't recommend this place more!
We had a 7 course taster menu with a wine pairing. The wine pairings were excellent, and most of the courses were delicious. In particular, a jalapeño whipped butter with Cod’s Roe served with fox said and sourdough was a great combo of salty grated roe with the fruity hum of jalapeño. A charred aubergine with tomato dressing was also a lovely contrast of smoky sweet salty and a hint of spice in the sauce.
As you would expect with the sort of cooking that they’re aiming for, there were a couple of dishes that didn’t quite work - a dessert of pineapple with black bean and sezchaun pepper was a worthy experiment that was interesting to eat, but one that felt like the balance of flavours were a bit wrong. And a Thai like Crab bisque dish felt like it needed more punch to it in terms of heat.
Finally, despite the open kitchen and small room, we went on a cold late April evening and the space was uncomfortably reflective of the outside temperature - it will be a great venue in summer but they need to invest in some extra heating for the colder months and nights!
Despite these minor points it was a worth experience and would definitely go back. The staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly and my other half is pescatarian and also pregnant and they were kind enough to adapt the menu, and savvy enough to have alternative menu tweaks for different dietary requirements!
One of the best meals we've had in London. Will definitely be back.
We had high expectations after following the chef here from his previous restaurant Pidgin. We absolutely loved the food and the entire experience. Fantastic wine to go with the meal too. I'd recommend a course, but as it changes so regularly it seems pointless, and to be honest, all of them were brilliant. Highly recommend.
Delicious, interesting and perfectly served food. Good natural wine selection . Nice people.
Great new entry for the Hackney food scene!
Fantastic food, great experience
