When we arrived, we discovered that inside is all booked for a private function, so we had no choice but to sit outside, it was a very hot day. When booking there was nothing mentioned that the table would be outside. The service wasnt good, eventhough our waiter tried his best, but its was enough. We felt like uninvited guest in the place, very awkward. All the attention was to the parties... Wouldnt go there again.

I don’t recommend going to this restaurant on a special occasion such as Mother’s Day. Poor management could not handle the demanding number of customers. We had a reservation for 6pm and got there on time. We needed to wait 45 for our table. They wouldn’t sit us until our table had plates on. The table was empty for 20min until they started putting plates on it. When we finally sat down we asked to order right away and the waiter mentioned food will be ready in 30min. However it took over an hour. The table beside us got seated about 5min after us. They didn’t get menus and had to get up themselves to get the menus after waiting so long. Then nobody came to them to get their order. One of them complained to the manager but still no service. They ended up leaving the restaurant. That was a table of 10 and at least $600 lost revenue. When we finally got served our food it didn’t come all at once. Everyone but 2 got their meals. We had to wait another 15 min for them to get it. Everyone waited until they got their food before eating. Now the food was amazing. I just wish management was able to properly manage the restaurant. They were way over their heads. I suspect it would be better on a regular night with a small group of 4. Don’t come to this restaurant if you have a larger group (we had 11) on Mother’s Day.

Space was set up very nicely for their Mother’s Day brunch. We arrived 15 mins early. Our reservation time was 4:30 pm. At that time they were still setting up and had not seated anyone on time. Hostess didn’t acknowledge the people waiting or give us any assurance that we’d be seated shortly. Once we were seated, the server took a pretty long time to come. We weren’t directed to the buffet, drink orders hadn’t been taken, so we just followed everyone else and headed to the buffet. The servers and the staff were very nice. Probably just overwhelmed with the crowd. The food was pretty decent. The mussels were very flavourful. Chicken Marsala could have had a bit more flavour. Salad bar options were plentiful. Hot entrees were good too. Only thing missing was a fish option (salmon or any other fish). They had chicken, veal, mussels and sausage as the meat options. Dessert bar was good. Pastries and cakes were very tasty. I think for the food options, the price could’ve been a bit cheaper. $60 per person and that didn’t include any drinks was a little steep. Would I visit again? I would try their regular menu probably. And the event space is beautiful so I would definitely consider them for a catered birthday dinner or something along those lines.

They charged for a tip, then passed me the machine right at the tip page. I unknowingly tipped twice. Food was sub par, and bill was 300 for my wife and two kids. 2-4. I would never return

Monday night birthday dinner celebration. Restaurant very quiet with only about 3-4 other tables occupied. Not the fault of the restaurant but it did spoil the ambience somewhat. Service was outstanding with one waiter serving all the tables. Friendly and polite and right there when we needed anything. Food was excellent. True Italian cooking. Everything made from scratch and could not find one thing to find fault with. Can’t even begin to compare to other restaurants that say their food is authentic Italian style. Definitely will go back for special occasions as prices were higher but then again inflation has hit us hard and maybe all restaurants are more expensive now. Haven’t eaten out that much last while. Had a wonderful time.

Our waitress took forever to serve us when the restaurant wasnt busy at all. People who were seated after us were being served before us. Waitress waited till we started eating to mention that the gluten free pasta we requested was an extra $6 charge. I ordered a $18 lychee martini that looked like water in a glass. We were a group of 3 and they sat us at a table that could barely hold our appetizers let alone our drinks and dinner.

Everything was above good. My only issue was that the restaurant was full therefore our table was on the second level and we were the only patrons. Although we did agree to sit on the second level but not that we were alone. The staff was great, very attentive. Due to the big crowd on the main level it was extremely noisy and it was difficult to carry on a conversation. Food was good but we did not enjoy the arancini due to the sauce, tasted like watered down ketchup. Will be back.

Reservation was for 7. Didn't get our meal until 8:40. Steaks were rare after request for medium. Both Steak orders had to be returned for further cooking. One of our party did not get to eat until 9 and steak was still undercooked. He didn't even finish it, too bloody on the inside. Our waiter was very good, tried his best to keep up. We had a baby plus three toddlers in our party. This delay was unacceptable.

My pizza lacked flavour. Had to ask server for bread for the table. They provided one small slice of bread per person, which I feel is far from generous or standard. I booked this restaurant for a birthday and indicated that in the reservation. They charged us $15 for a slice of cheesecake for my sister (the birthday girl) -I’ve never seen a full charge for dessert before when it’s a birthday and would have simply appreciated the heads up about that as a courtesy. They also charged us $6 for feta for our bruschetta (on our receipt), which was charged on top of our bruschetta orders. Again I would have appreciated more transparency about this. I identified these charges when reviewing the receipt and had to ask. Overall food was ok but Costello lacks in service and billing etiquette.

We came with a table for 13 but with the place being completely full we feel like they didn't have the capacity to serve this many people. We got our drinks 30 minutes after ordering and our food 1.5 hours after ordering. They also missed a few people's meals and some drinks throughout the dinner. They also took 20 minutes to get our bills 😅. The Tortellini soup tasted watered down so we sent it back. The bruschetta was decent, the veal was very underwhelming. The Seafood linguine was also bland. Would never come back.

I used to love Castello but I went on Valentine's Day and we had to wait 15 minutes to be seated, despite having a reservation. It then took forever for the waiters to take our order and then again it took forever to bring the food out. I suppose they were overly busy or understaffed... I ordered some mussels and half of the shells were completely empty! The specialty menu was so overpriced. For a small plate of lasagna with no meat I believe was around like $20-$30, the rib was basically burnt with very little meat. I was very disappointed on Valentine's Day... Not sure what happened. I've left reviews on Castello before for my amazing experience, but Valentine's Day was not one of them.

Food and drinks were excellent. The waitress was super nice. The only complain I have is that We had to wait an hour before our food arrived. The waitress did apologize and offered free drinks on the house to make up. This could be due to weekend/Valentine’s day rush. All in all, great experience, beautiful decor and ambience.
