Castle View Restaurant
Our seasonal menu uses the highest quality local meat, including English Longhorn beef, bred in the surrounding local countryside. Every detail of the food is important to us and we believe in giving you a taste of the best of British.
The oak-beamed 17th Century setting, offers diners a relaxed atmosphere and spectacular views from the terrace of the 900 year old Leeds Castle beautifully lit at night.
We booked for an evening meal for 2. Beautiful venue and setting. Directions in and after dark lighting to the car park could be a tad clearer, as we could not see a thing. The service was wonderful and polite. The food was amazing, really lovely ambiance to the place. Would recommend.
Lovely setting, reasonable ambience. Service was "unhurried".
Overall I was disappointed. The chef had a penchant for adding pepper to everything including my steak. I do not like pepper at all so for me it was ruined. The triple cooked chips appeared to be of the frozen variety which begs the question how do you boil frozen chips?
A lovely place to have a meal great atmosphere friendly staff not the cheapest but well worth a visit stay if you can as well
Staff were very professional and helpful , especially sorin
We had a lovely evening at the Castle View Restaurant.
Delicious starter and main course and the wine was fantastic.
Lovely and attentive service from all the staff.
We have been many times to the Restaurant and been happy. But this time the service was awful which was rather embarrassing for my husband and me as are guests were first timers and we had told them how good the restaurant was. I had said at the time of booking it was their 25 Wedding Anniversary. We were shown to our table and left there no menus or drink menus offered after a while a waitress came to take our orders but we had not see either menus. the waiters and waitress did not clear the used plates away after each course they had to asked. I am sorry to say we will think twice before going to the restaurant again
We had a great time at this restaurant. Will and his team have been absolutely amazing! 5* great experience
Nice restaurant and good waiters but food disappointing and band went home early
We had our valentines dinner here, what beautiful presented amazing tasting food, the staff were amazing, would highly recommend it!
The menu, table arrangement and venue was very romantic and well thought out. This was our first valentine's as Mr & Mrs Chesson and we were so glad we spent it at the Castle View Restaurant. Thank you.
Lovely place food was outstanding lovely atmosphere definitely go back again
Lovely place, very good on everything. Valentine's night, gorgeous rose, live music and sparkling wine included. Directions avoid the main gate, go to back of Leeds castle. A nice person let's you in though a barrier. It is not well lit, so be careful when walking to the restaurant. Easy to follow signs.
An amazing night after a really bad week a big thank you to Leanne who made the night extra special. This was our first time at the restaurant but certainly not the last will be coming back again definitely a must.👍
Very lovely setting. Lovely food. Good choice of well presented dishes.
Helpful and discreet staff.
Very good and wine was spot on ... e view is the best about!
Staffs of this restaurant are overwhelmed of any other things!
Excellent service from Will and the team at Castle View unfortunately only let down by uncomfortable chairs and basic decor and layout which did not compliment the excellent food and stunning views.
Awesome service, lovely location and food quality, preferred wine sold out, cheese board could do with more variety...will definitely go back
We were staying at the castle so it was just a short walk across the courtyard.
From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we were thoroughly looked after by the manager and his staff. Everyone was friendly and helpful. As for the food. What a treat and good value for the money. If we are in the area we will definitely visit again.
10 / 10
A very different experience to the previous night the service was so very slow a 30 minute wait for our starter and over an hour after that before the main arrived We gave up on a dessert and had to go up to the counter to pay and leave
The restaurant was freezing cold and allergy advice was absent my wife had to check numerous times to avoid getting the wrong food
Great views of Castle, good food and good value, service was slow
Having read previous reviews I was a little worried but have to say we had a lovely evening. The restaurant was not busy but the atmosphere was pleasant and our waitress Sarah was excellent. She was very friendly and helpful. Food was very tasty and portion size for me was perfect. It is a tad expensive and the menu choice is limited. I did not like any starter or dessert. However very enjoyable evening and we would definitely go back and recommend. Amazing views of castle.
We had a lovely birthday dinner while staying at the Castle. The staff we extremely friendly and accommodating and unexpected put a candle in my dessert and sung me happy birthday which was a lovely touch. The food was outstanding, the menu is small but well thought out and I was sorry we didn't have time for two dinners so I could try some more dishes! We also had breakfast during our stay and it was lovely, lots of options and a well stocked continental breakfast bar.
The setting was obviously magical - overlooking the floodlit Leeds Castle, we entered the restaurant through a terrace. The terrace however had strings of lightbulbs strung along its railings and when seated this dazzled and interfered with the view of the castle across the moat - such a shame!
The restaurant itself, in rustic converted barn buildings, was spacious and comfortable.
The food was good, but the choice of dishes was limited, added to which there were several things not available. Wine was adequate but on the expensive side - what a shame a ‘house wine’ was not offered.
Service was my biggest disappointment, we felt neglected and when we finally succeeded in ordering desserts we had to go in search of someone to give us some spoons! Really not good.
Overall our evening started out well, but went somewhat downhill - more professional staff required.
very good food, friendly and helpful staff. Just a pitty that the setting in the restaurant is a bit poor (chairs and tables like in a school restaurant).
Only 6 choices ok the menu- disgusting drink prices- child portions- worst dining experience I’ve ever had. Waitress took our order and forgot and never came back! Took 40 minutes to even get a drink. £26 for a £6 bottle of red wine. Just disgusting.
We have eaten in this restaurant several times now, the view over the Castle is simply stunning. The food is always excellent and the staff helpful, attentive and friendly, not expensive either. Can’t wait to eat here again when we stay at Leeds Castle again in May
I booked this as a surprise for my wife’s birthday. I have lived in Langley for around 18 years and never been. To be fair I didn’t know it was there. I will however definitely be going again.
The food was perfect, the service excellent.
The staff were very friendly and professional, the food was amazing but we felt the wine was a bit expensive. Overall we enjoyed our experience and we will be coming back. Thank you.
Went on a cold and wet Wednesday evening, as staying in one of the Castle voyages, but instantly welcomed by a warm and very knowledgeable staff, who were happy to discuss the new menu with us.
Food was exceptional and good value. Only slight downside was a longer than usual wait for our mains which was recognised by staff before we noticed and the offer of a free cocktail very much appreciated 😁
Overall experience was as expected from a high class restaurant and if we are in the area again, we’d have no hesitation in going back again or recommending it to friends should they visit the area
Whilst the food was excellent the portion sizes were very small. We made this comment to the server who said that this was "fine dining".
Booked the castle view restaurant as we are staying in the grounds, were staying for my boyfriends birthday.
We got to the restaurant and there were a few couples sitting eating there dinner, one lady greeted us didn’t offer to take my coat and could see there was hangers for them.
We sat down and she asked if wanted to order any drinks, I went for a Hendricks cocktail which sounded lovely and my boyfriend had a beer. This cocktail came in a wine glass!!! And seemed to be half full and was £8.95!!!!!!!!! I was appalled as Iv never had a cocktail this way.
The menu which I looked at on this app had mussels for starters and on the mains as well, there wasn’t any sign of any on this paper menu which I was really upset about as me and my boyfriend were looking forward to having mussels as a starter. Instead we had olives and some bread.
I picked the seafood linguine as a main as I had my heart set on eating seafood, my boyfriend choose the lamb rump.
I was very disappointed with my mains, it wasn’t a proper seafood linguine at all, no white wine, just full of loads of parsley oil which didn’t really give it any flavour at all. I didn’t eat most of it and for £18.95 it really wasn’t worth that at all. My boyfriends lamb was average, the portion for what it cost was again appealing.
I told the restaurant on this app that it was a birthday, but nothing got said so I don’t really have that occasion option.
If I do stay again I won’t be coming back to the restaurant for any occasion.
Lovely setting, not over fussy and very friendly. Service was just right, not to long to wait for the food.
I will go as far to say the best food i have had for years. Not massive portions but was enough..
Waiting staff very friendly and efficient.
One more thing The raspberry brulee was amazing.
It was nice, but very expensive!
It didn't seem that there was good value for money.
Fantastic food . Lovely location friendly staff.
Absolutely wonderful experience and the restaurant was fabulous with local sourced produce. The best food my husband and I have had in years! Will definitely be returning to this beautiful castle.
The restaurant serving staff were excellent, especially Sarah. Very welcoming and couldn't of been nicer.
The view over the grounds and castle are stunning, very well lit at night.
The food was delicious, I would recommend the asparagus tart.
Not too sure about the rock/pop music volume when sitting down to fine dining! Other than that, a nice relaxed atmosphere, good views of the Castle, well presented and tasty dishes.
Really nice meal out, great views of the castle lit up at night. Would have helped if we were given correct directions to get to the restaurant initially.
Very good food and service. Will be back again very soon
