Catal is (was) a go-to for a well-needed adultish respite from the Disney chaos. The bar is good. The food is good for Disney, but not a value anywhere else you may be. Tonight tho—Saturday 8pm, out of lobster paella? Ok, liveable. Out of filet mignon? Fine , I can have fish. Can we have some bread? No. Out of bread. Saturday at 8:10 pm. Seriously?!?!! 4 years ago; this place was a star. Now? I half expect it to be closed next time we are here.
Great place with our kids. Patio is always great!
The appetizers were great ( we had bacon wrapped dates and calamari) our Mac and cheese never came out. The entrees are not worth the money and not good. This was the dinner menu . Our last visit to Disney we discovered this restaurant and loved the lunch . We went two days in a row. This time we were celebrating special occasions and went for dinner ( not realizing the menu changes )🤦🏽♀️.
Food was amazing. Service was great! View from the top floor is lovely.
I only gave 2 stars for the food because the appetizers were very good, but only 1 out of the 5 dinner entrees ordered was good (not excellent) quality. The rest of the food was shopping mall food court quality at extreme prices. I don't mind spending $30+ on an entree, but I expect the food quality to be fantastic and match the price. The restaurant is nice, the ambiance was nice, and the service was great. However, I was looking forward to awesome food and every person in my dinner party was very disappointed with the food. Nobody finished their meals, and most of the people in my party just picked at their food. Additionally, the paellas are advertised as traditional Spanish paellas. They are NOT! Paella is a traditional dish from Spain and in Spain, they do NOT make spicy, dry paellas. The paellas were mostly overcooked, dry and spicy rice with very, very little in quantity and teensy, weensy in size seafood bits or other protein. Don't get me wrong, I love spicy food and everyone in my dinner party loves spicy food, but those of us who ordered paellas were expecting traditional Spanish paellas as described in the menu. We were very disappointed to get dry, South Americanized spicy paellas. I will not return nor will I recommend this restaurant in the future.
It is always a pleasure to dine at Catal. The staff is so focused on serving you an outstanding meal that meets your individual needs. The scallops are my favorite along with the machego salad. La Brea bakery bread is now served with hummus and olive oil. The duck breast is a rich, savory dish. Seasonal berries are not listed on the menu but are available for those who need a healthy alternative to the yummy desserts such as the sticky cake with caramel sauce.
We were there over 90 minutes, the restaurant was nearly empty and we didn’t get our food until we were getting up to leave. The manager was nowhere to be found until we told a hostess we were leaving. She tried to make it right, but it was too late.
The food is always superb and overall its a great restaurant. However, the service was so poor I was very disappointed o this occasion. Our server was the worst server I have ever had anywhere!
Food quantity and quality is grossly overpriced. Sent back the same dish twice (a burger) for being raw inside. Same as far as the steak, medium rare came out very rare. Needs work!
Forgot all my sides on both dishes. I took a photo and was drinking so I didn’t realize till later.
Food took forever to arrive,
Every single dish we ordered was delicious! Our waitress was also super friendly! Wonderful dinner overall
We love coming here. It’s the perfect ambience and view of downtown Disney. Tonight we celebrated our daughters birthday and made sure we had reservations set up. We were running late after a trip to Disneyland and I was afraid of missing our reservation. Thankfully the hostess was gracious enough to hold our table.
Coming in we were immediately seated inside. It was loud inside but e were able to converse without shouting over one another. It was busy that evening and it took a while for our server to come and take our orders. After she did come our food and drinks came without any incident. Food tasted great as always.
Definitely will come back again.
Food was quite good. We got the three course early bird dinner special they offered. The building is pretty. Go with good company as you will be there awhile. We visited on a Tuesday night with a group of 6. If you go with a group of 6, they will tack on an automatic 18% tip. We all felt ignored by the wait staff. It wasn't until we got the bill that we all went ahhh. The tip is force fed so there is no incentive to provide good service to some tables. Our wait staff seemed harried and probably why they weren't that friendly. We made a 5pm reservation, they called to confirm it. We arrived a few minutes early and were seated at 5:30pm. Had a drink at the bar. Bartender seemed a bit put out - not friendly or unfriendly. Happy hour menu had a limited drink pool. Mine was straight up mix. At the table, it took a good amount of time for the first course and every course in between. It turned into a two+ hour dinner. The cause of it all, they seem understaffed. I didn't see a manager about picking up the slack. For the prices they charge, that seemed unreasonable. Not a warm environment, but it is pretty there. Food was quite good. We got the three course early bird dinner special they offered. The building is pretty. Hopefully it was an isolated incident and we just got the B crew that day.
Service was excellent and the food was delicious. What was most surprising was the atmosphere. We sat inside on the 2nd floor and it did not feel like we were in Downtown Disney with the tourist crowd. It was calm with a good vibe.
The food came out at multiple different times know body got to eat together. Food was cooked wrong and staff didn’t do anything about that there response was cool was trying to hurry. Very overpriced for average food.
Food was delicious and the staff was super friendly.
We were at Catal for a late lunch. Unfortunately they were closing for a special event so some of the staff was distracted. We enjoyed our deviled eggs and bacon wrapped dates. Our chopped salad was OK. Service w/Bryant was great.
Food was well prepared and they have a varied menu. Mixed drinks were quite weak, lacking in much if any alcoholic content and pricey.
Have been here and Uva many times for lunch and dinner. Always reliable food. Had a Ceasar salad and filet that were both good
Their craft cocktails are outstanding- a great aged Mai Tai.
Our server (I think his name was Randy- he's been there since opening) was wonderful.
Great kids menu. Variety of food. The drinks took a little long but they were also good with food sensitivities.
Setting was nice. Restaurant clean food was okay. Expected more for price
It shocks me that this place had such great reviews on Yelp! Terrible service, food was mediocre (my daughter wouldn’t even eat the kids Mac n cheese) and the prices were not worth the taste. We had better service and comparable food at Mimi’s Cafe across the street for half the price! Sorry Catal you need to get it together.
The lobster paella was fantastic, as were the other dishes. Wonderful service also with Vivian. We had a patio seat overlooking the festive downtown Disney area. Lots of fun people watching. This will be our go to spot on our future Disneyland trips.
The calamari appetizer was a little small but it was good. It could have used more sauce. The turkey club and the hamburger were great lunch selections. Excellent service.
Very disappointing that many of the menu items were sold out at 8 PM on a Friday night.
My server Michael was awesome. He made our wedding anniversary a special night. The food is great and the value is awesome. We got the Paella and the rice was cooked perfectly. I would go back again.
We've been dining at Catal every time we vacation at Disneyland. Years! And ALWAYS consider Catal the very best restaurant there! Don't change a thing!!
Great food and service.
This is the only Downtown Disney dining I'd done in a long time, mostly because of so many poor-to-middling experiences in the past. Catal, though, was really nice! Great food, good cocktails and service, and a view overlooking the main thoroughfare of Downtown Disney. What's not to love?
Never got our appetizer. Took 45 monies to get our entrees. Got bread soon as food came out
Birthday dinner. It was wonderful!
Rebecca was just amazing and made us feel so so welcome, thank you for making our last meal of our trip so enjoyable! The food was the best we had had in Anaheim on our whole trip and we would strongly recommend. We sat outside on the balcony in the lovely sunshine. Paella main and ahi bruschetta starter were so so good! We travelled from the UK to Disney for 4 days, we just wished we had found this spot at the start of our trip!
Good menu, good is excellent! Service is good and the views from the outside seating area is awesome. Highly recommend for any occasion or social occasion.
The ambiance was good. Looked like a nice restaurant. Didn’t seem like an Italian restaurant though. Food was good enough but not as good as I expected. Overall, it wasn’t bad.
Food was excellent! Our waitress Grace was on top of everything. I have food allergies and she work with the chief to alter my dish and it was delicious. I would not think to go here for a hamburger, but I Son order one and it looked amazing. He loved and he told me it was along to top of choice burgers.
We went to Catal after seeing their prix fix menu on their website. We were very disappointed to discover it was no longer offered. Our server was inattentive to us as she was busy schmoosing the couple at the table next to us throughout our meal. We had to ask a runner for a bread basket as our server never offered it to us. My wine was short poured. Our entrees were good but nothing special. We had to wait 10 minutes for our server to pick up our check, all the while waiting for her to finish her chat with the other table, her back turned to us. We have always received good food and excellent service at Patina restaurants, but our experience was lacking this visit.
Downtown Disney was very crowded the night that we had reservations & parking was backed up. We were a few minutes late but they held our reservations. However half of our party was stuck trying to get into the parking lot. The waitress initially was understanding but she never came back. We were going to order everyone's entree but she never glanced at our table as she walked past. Once the other people from our party arrived, my husband told one of the staff that we were ready to order but she never came. So, we left money on the table for the drinks that we ordered & left to eat somewhere else. Food not good enough to come back for horrible service. The only good service that we received were from the gentleman who brought us our waters.
