Felt the cocktails and drinks range were good and value for money.
Starters - flatbreads were lovely and quick to be served.
Sadly, the sirloin steaks (the whole reason for going) were not good cuts of meat and very fatty - staff apologised but nothing was changed. They were cooked as requested and the sauce, veg were lovely but it was the cut of the meat itself which was very poor for sirloin
would not go back for that reason
If you are looking for real Argentinian meat you need to go there. We ate Lomito (fillet), the meat was high quality, soft and juicy. No words to describe it.
We were with our children, 3 and 6 years old that have been friendly received from the waiters (kid's menu, paper to color and special cutlery) .
We strongly recommend it
The food, service and wine were all outstanding. Will definitely be returning to this restaurant and have recommended it to friends.
Great food, great service and great midweek offer.
Argentinean beer was awesome. Enjoyed it very much and we'll be back 😎
service was fabulous apart from the waitress lifting a full bottle of beer which was quickly resolved. Little bit expensive but the size up on steaks offer was good.
Wouldn't become a regular but would return for a special occasion
Visited this restaurant on 23rd June 2018 and the welcome, service, food and ambience were excellent and would highly recommend
Great steak, Sirloin 11oz rare, fabulous customer service and good value for money.
As a family of four we went out for a Father’s Day dinner. One of us had the Sunday roast which is absolutely fantastic. The beef is cooked to perfection. Others has different steaks which were also great. Wine is a bit expensive per glass but hey ho. Staff are friendly and efficient.
Meat was really good. Nice atmosphere and great service.
I will come back and recommend to my friends.
Thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband and son in law both had burgers and both said they would go. I had steak with a lovely sauce. Very good indeed.
Service was friendly. Food wasn't great. The sides were greasy and I was ill within three hours of leaving the restaurant. No plans to rush back, given the number of great steak restaurants in Edinburgh.
Great steaks. Restaurant was quiet but staff were attentive. Nicer internally than I thought it would be.
We went here on Saturday for my hen do dinner on one of the nights that we were in Edinburgh. I have also been to CAU in Cambridge so I know this restaurant is good but the atmosphere here was fab. The steak was the best i've had in a very long time! I can't wait to go to CAU again soon. James who was our server was amazing!
Great food at Cau and the staff were very friendly
Been to CAU twice now and both times had a great experience- top notch food and friendly service.
I had a great time at the restaurant and will definitely be coming again. Steaks were excellent and the sides were also very tasty and worth ordering!!
Fantastic service and great steak ! Best in Edinburgh
Fabulous steak and excellent service!
Lovely meal with my Nephew. Friendly helpful staff and the food was delicious.
Another great meal at CAU. Only ever been to the Guildford restaurant until now. The Edinburgh restaurant had the same great food with the added benefit of a window table in the sun, perfect for people watching. The wine was lovely and tira de ancho was epic. Went there with the wife for my birthday. Thanks CAU.....the restaurant that is.
First visit and won’t be my last fabulous food
Trendy eatery with excellent staff my 3 sons loved it and a big thank you to Alexandra who is a credit to the restaurant.
Fantastic music gave it a great vibe
Lovely staff. Would be nice for the menu to be a bit more detailed though as my husband is quite fussy so there were a few unwelcome surprises accompanying his food!
Mother's Day lunch - Fantastic time from start to finish. Roast beef lunch was excellent value and cooked to our liking. Steaks were again perfectly cooked. Everyone enjoyed their food. Service was great as per usual. Will definitely be back. The flowers and chocolates foe the mothers against the table was a very nice touch
Best Sunday roast (beef) in town so far! Very good restaurant overall.
Very professional staff, who were friendly and accommodating. Great menu, decent sized portions.
Good ambience without being intrusive. Service was very good with staff being attentive and helpful. Steaks were excellent and good value for money. Would recommend for steak over a number of alternative establishments.
Beautiful meal , fantastic service very trendy restaurant. Not many beers to choose from but not a hardship . Best steak ever !! I will def be back !
Lovely lunch on a snowy afternoon. Two courses for £10.95 was worth the money. I had an onion and goat's cheese flatbread and opted for the tapi steak dish which was so tender. It was quiet due to the weather but the service was really good, nice friendly staff. The toilets were beautifully decorated and clean. Will definitely be back.
Our waiter couldn't be more accomodating with us, going above and beyond what is necessary to ensure our young child was happy.
Came to CAU for dinner on Friday night after hearing great reviews and been looking to try for a long time.
We arrived 15 minutes late for the table but the staff were really friendly and advised us it was no problem and that they would need the table back before nine which was not a problem.
We were seated next to a group of males and they were very rowdy and speaking extremely vulgar, I don't even want to type what some of the conversation entailed.
Can't fault the staff as they were very attentive however they were visibly aware the men were causing a scene but nothing was done about it apart from supply more bottles of wine that were ordered.
At one point in the evening, one of the men turned around to face me and stared at me eating for around 20 minutes.
We asked for the bill and promptly left as it wsa proving very difficult to enjoy our night.
Food was nice and it came in a very timely manner and the resturant was lovely inside but unfortunatley our experaince was tainted by these guests.
We have been to Cau in Edinburgh on numerous occasions for a family meal & it never disappoints. It’s one of our favourites.
In my opinion, the best steaks in Edinburgh! Amazing food and a chilled, relaxed atmosphere. Steaks cooked to perfection and taste amazing
Went for a Sunday roast, beef and Yorkshire pudding were delicious, there was no carrots so we got given squash instead which was really nice but along with the potatoes was quite oily. If the dish came with some fresh greens, broccoli, peas, parsnip etc it would have been so much better. The waiter could not have been more attentive, very good service!
This is the second time we have eaten in this restaurant. Staff are extremely polite go out of their way to be helpful.Food is very tasty ,creative and beautifully presented.
Heard lots of great things and we weren’t disappointed. Quite possibly the best steak I’ve ever had. Absolutely delicious, will definitely be back and will treat my steak-loving kids next!
Second visit to CAU in Edinburgh. Food and service excellent, with friendly, considerate and intelligent staff. Drinks a little pricey but very good wines. Could get a little noisy at times but overall, this is a restaurant we would happily return to often.
Absolutely great restaurant. Service was outstanding and steak was cooked perfectly.
A lovely evening A little pricey but well worth it x
Lovely food and great atmosphere. Definitely be back.
I went for my birthday, and I absolutely loved it! All my friends were extremely pleased with the cocktails, service & great choice on the menu. The food was a solid 10/10! I got given a free glass of prosecco as it was my birthday. Such a great place! Will be coming again!
