Very nice food and the service is great (which is quite special for Amsterdam)
specially the pre-dinner drinks in the fantastic bar-chairs, we liked
next time we would like to dine @ a ´ normal ´ table.
Great Evening. Lovely atmosphere with live music in the background but i didnt find it too loud. For the setting and the service I think the pricing was reasonable. Lots of food choices. Would recommend for a special occassion.
The service was absolutely terrible. Slow service. Does not Deserve to be at soho house.
Rumoerig, graag meer geluidsisolatie, eten oké, maar niet wow .. lokatie is prachtig
Geweldige locatie, heerlijk eten en on-Amsterdamse prijzen. Te goedkoop dus
Cecconi's is the new landmark in Amsterdam. Absolutely a favourite and will guarantee a fantastic evening!!!
Food is ok. Not very special
we came for bday celebration
They didn’t even ask and notice 😔
A disappointing experience. We drove quiet some time to have lunch at one of our favorite restaurants. We have been at Cecconi's in Berlin, Barcelona and NY. and expecting a lot from Amsterdam. We made reservation for lunch on a Sunday. When we arrived we could not order a la carte but only take the lunch buffet. We did not want that so we had to leave. I advised the restaurant to mention on the website that a la carte is not possible on Sunday for lunch. It only says that they serve a buffet but nothing is mentioned that there are no other possibilities. Why didn't they tell me when I made the reservation 2 months ago? One positive thing, we did not have to pay for the drinks we ordered while waiting for the waiter with the menu...... I do not know if I want to make the journey again to try the menu.
Poor service although food and atmosphere was good. With reservation at 8pm (6 weeks in advance!) no dinner table available. Even at 8.30pm.
We got a table in the drinks/lounge-area but the chairs and tables were not suitable to have dinner. The wine cooler stood far away from the table. Personeel didn’t pay enough Attention. The Irish coffee was far from hot.
In the end quite disappointing experience.
Alles klopt hier !! Fantastische avond gehad.
Top top top! SoHo House en Cecconi’s zijn een aanwinst voor Amsterdam!!
Food was Good. Ambiance also Good. Service, need to be fine tuned.
Have visited all over the world. Especially like this one in Amsterdam.
Do you only thing I didn’t like was the oil smell from the kitchen. My clothes have to be washed because of the smell
Too Much noise to have a normal conversation . beach chairs with lay back function doesn’t make it easier. Very very much smoke coming from the open kitchen !! We went away asap after our dinner. Our eyes hurt a lot of the smoke. Complaining by waitress didn’t t help.
Back in the lounge no table available.
Personnel doesn’t respond on our request to find a table. All our clothes need dry cleaning !!!
Cocktails are not very surprising we be tested six ones ! Food is salty. Hospitality should improve in lounge !! This nice building deserves much much better
Goed intaliaans eten in een prachtig gerestaureerd art deco gebouw met mooi interieur & design! Zeer de moeite waard!
Absolutely loved it! The Italian food tastes like in Italy, the wines are exquisite and the atmosphere friendly and cosy. Loved the decor, feels like being in a maffioso film😁. The only reason it doesn't hit 5stars allover for me, was that although they've got a huge ventilation system, the smell of the kitchen couldn't be contained... But we sat close to the kitchen, guess it's better further away...
Very unpleasant experience. Never again. Sad. Unfriendly waiter, poor food unlike other Cecconis
Great food! Nice ambience and friendly staff. We hada 3-course lunch. Would def go here for dinner next time.
Food was really good , but the service was so really poor.( not all the staff) some Wauters were good but some and important the two managers are so arrogant .
Really enjoyed the beautiful restaurant, lovely food and attentivre staff!
Late lunch 3pm
Restaurant staff were nice and friendly
After we were sitting at the lounge
Friends come by talked and had cocktails
We got unpleasant comments from the manager
We broke the records, we were there too long
Unprofessional , and shocking
Enjoyed a great evening great food ,ambiance is super cosy. Great night.
Food was great but poor inattentive service let it down and spolit overall experience.
Nice ambiance, but a bit noisy. Staff is friendly and helpful. Food is greasy and portions are really too big. Not enough choice in vegetarian food.
My experience was fair/good, however I was told that this was perhaps one of the best restaurants in Amsterdam. This wasn’t my experience.
I recommend that the hostess be a bit more courteous and pleasant in the first instant. First impressions go a long way.
Booked a table at 14:30 and first thing we got told when we arrive is that they stop serving food at 3 and that all staff will be gone by then! ah. Why offer the options to book a table at 2:30, 3, 3:30 when you cannot eat after 3?
Place is nice, food was good but we were rushed. Booked for my husband's birthday. Too bad.
We ate here twice on a recent trip to Amsterdam. I’m surprised to say I probably wouldn’t rush back.
First the good: the Sunday brunch is exceptional: a vast spread of everything from cooked-to-order omelettes, all you can eat oysters, roast everything, a huge dessert buffet - spectacular to look at and mostly very nice to eat, as well. The room itself is very attractive, too, with a buzz as the well-heeled clientele matter their way through the feast.
That wasn’t matched by another meal when we chose off the menu from rather humdrum dishes delivered haphazardly by offhand staff. The wine list is almost exactly the same as the Soho House kitchen upstairs (where the food is significantly better) which seems a lost opportunity for Cecconi’s to set itself apart.
Overall, a feat for the eyes, rather less so for the belly and the only thing coming away lighter will be your wallet.
It was a huge disappointment. We had high expectations, after visited ceccioni in London. The only good, great thing was the food. But the noise was terrible (we could hardly hear the waiters, also having a conversation with the two of us was difficult). It was so dark in the restaurant that a lot of people were using their phones to enlighten the menu. There is an open kitchen, but looks like all the smell from the cooking is coming right into the restaurant. It was obvious that within a couple of minutes that we would smell leaving the restaurant. The speed of the food was too high. We were still enjoying our starting cocktail when the starter was already served. Within 1,5 houre we had our 2 courses and were asked to leave the table because of an overbooking. .... there is a lot of room for improvement
Perfect Italian food! But lousy acoustics! Normal table conversation not possible. We had to shout to each other.
Came here to have dinner with a friend. The acoustic is very noisy, the waiters almost unintelligible. The order went wrong, so after 40 minutes of waiting for the primi, the waiter came to tell us that we should order again because the order went missing/computer broke down (unintelligible). The primi was good, although too much sauce with the Vitello Tonnato. After this we received the main. Way too much food. The chicken was flat, dry and not tasty. Served with a few chops of tomato on it (why?). I ordered some roasted potatoes (€5) and what I got was a few pieces (maybe 5) of potato. My friend got a pizza, which was tasty, but way too heavy. She usually is a big eater, but this had too much toppings. Too much burrata, too much ham etc. This was something we saw all around us: wasted food. The wines were good, but when we got the cheque we had a bottle instead of two glasses. Probably miscommunication because of the noise. But what we dont understand is that the waiter never asked too pour us more from the bottle, while he thought we ordered it. And he let us order glasses of a different wine. Confusing.
The food and prices are very well, but the service was terrible! Not friendly and very arrogant! The waiter told us that if you would like to have a good table at the window, you have to be very famous (???). My reaction was surprised and then the waiter said:"We are the most famous restaurant of Holland so it is very difficult to get a table here' The we were totally confused because the restaurant was half empty during the Sunday lunch and we were not allowed to sit close to the windows because 'we need to spread our guests'. Bizar, like if it was a dining-ship!
Great location, great ambiance, great food. Only feedback is communication between the waiters after you leave your table (time slots) and want to continue at the bar area. This did not go too well...
Great place. Good food. Value for money. Unfortunately is staff inexperienced. Service was friendly but poor.
Had a great evening, beautiful ambiance. Lovely staff, good food and nice wines. Coming back for sure
One of the best looking restaurants in Amsterdam. Great food to! Cool, laid back but sophisticated crowd.
Tasty dishes (good portion and everything was so good) in a scenic place, loved the place. Just the open kitchen, which brings vibes to the place, was at one point a bit too smelly.
