Cecconi's City of London at The Ned
Lovely venue, tables were very close together, that is my only minor negative. Would go again. Sunday Feast was delicious.
The food and the ambience of the place was very good and very beautiful.
However, the service was quite long as we waited for quite a long time for our food.
But overall a very good place to eat and drink.
Lovely meal, good for a special night out. Great drinks. Not so great for vegetarian options but the chef was accommodating and came up with something. Service was very good as usual. Lovely place will definitely be back.
Ok food but not exceptional, not impressive on value for money front tbh. Not amazing, but not bad either.
Great for breakfast if you don’t want to start your day too early as they serve until noon. It was quiet the day we went (Wednesday) but it got very busy at lunchtime. Food and service were excellent and good value for money.
Service was amazing
Absolutely amazing restaurant in a fabulous hotel!
The service was very nice!
I was in London in June last year and had dinner at the other restaurant at The Ned and came back two days late. It was that good. Tried Cecconi's this time as a family dinner and it was sadly memorable. The waiter had no interest in us. Also brought my wife another drink despite her saying she did not want one and charged us. Food ok but overpriced for what it was and small portions. Then they have the ordasity to "suggest" how much their service is worth. I thought that was up to the customer to decide. When back in London will not be back. Has given the Ned a bad reputation
The waiter was rude. He told us to leave the restaurant because the kitchen is closed!!! Although we are seated and we have already ordered our food. I asked for water and he told me to get up to the bar and grab some. Then later he came with a smile saying he is sorry and asked us if we need water still or sparkling!!!! RUDE
It was a great meal with fantastic service and the live music was a good addition.
We will be happy to dine here again.
great dinner on New year's day with my family to celebrate my daughter's Birthday
Not up to standard on food for the first time. Unfortunately no Sunday buffet which was a real treat when friends invited us last month.
Will go back on a Sunday and hope we will enjoy it as much as we did on a previous occasion.
Excellent can’t wait to go back!
Honestly I expected much much more from this place. A few of the different dishes we had were INCREDIBLY salty. The food was sub-par and I just ate it for the sake of it. I didn’t enjoy the food at all.
The Ned is a beautiful place, and I do like it’s atmosphere in general. However, the live music is very loud and quite frankly it’s just disruptive noise.
Do not take your girlfriend there for a romantic dinner because you won’t be able to hear each other talk.
I think save your money and go for drinks at the bar, don’t bother with the restaurant.
Very attentive at all times
Everything was great, but my salmon dish and spinach side were so underwhelming, that I cannot go with outstanding across the board.
Our first time at The Ned and we had a fabulous evening
Great atmosphere, food and staff
Would certainly go again
Nice place good food but very noisy and dark
The Ned is a stunning building. But unfortunately, and maybe due to the proximity to Christmas, being the 20th December, the noise levels were absurd for a restaurant environment owing to the open plan design and the adjacency to the live band. As a result it was nigh on impossible to have a conversation at all.
The waiter was excellent and his wine recommendation good and within my budget.
The menu is limited but my steak was very tasty. The sides were expensive and very small.
Overall it was an OK experience and I'd like to go back at a different time of year and try another of the restaurants.
Have come a couple of times and while the first time was not bad, the second time was a huge disappointment. The main courses were just inedible because they were so salty. The roast potatoes were not crispy this time and not hot but worse was they were so salty... and so were the lobster linguine, the veal milanese and the tagliatelle bolognese. The zucchini fritti were freshly made as they were piping hot but sadly they were so greasy this time and not crispy enough. Left most of the food untouched. Told the manager it was way too salty and we like well seasoned food but that was something else. To be fair, the manager kindly deducted the aperitifs and the glass of wine from the bill which was some gesture hence the good rating on the service. The starters were nice though so I don’t know what happened but they dropped the ball on the main - ended up drinking water non stop during and after dinner...
The place is ok but way too noisy and way too hot inside. I much prefer during lunch time when it’s cosier, lighter and less busy. The place was so packed that it’s possible the kitchen was under pressure that night and the food became inconsistent. In the evening, the crowd isn’t my cup of tea: lot of arrogant people with no manner at all
Fabulous surroundings inside The Ned and lovely ambience. We got a table even though only booked the counter. Overall staff were lovely but our waiter was missing a lot. They made up for it though and we left having enjoyed a gorgeous food and drink experience. Will definitely go again!
Great Veal Milanese. Try it!
Beautiful building and great food. Will be visiting again
Always delicious and great location, food was really tasty
Just love The NED. Never fails. Love the music, I am always there and always get a different experience!
As a regular at the original Cecconis I was surprised at how good the food was
Have eaten here previously and enjoyed but this time very disappointed. Felt very rushed which could have put up with had the food been ok. However calamari was over cooked and hard and crab ravioli undercooked. Very expensive for poor quality food.
We had a fantastic dinner, the service was excellent and the food was very tasty
Hi, were were a bit disappointed to be honest. The food was very average, over priced and just about luke warm when it arrived. there was not enough staff, however when we were attended to, the main waiter was excellent, the others were not so attentive and missed a lot of standard requirements, like filling up your glass or taking plates away.
The bar experience is much better than the actual restaurant. We had a lovely waiter called Tariq who was friendly, professional and a good story teller even though his section was really busy. Again, under staffed for such a busy time of year and it showed everywhere.
Also I have no idea why on a freezing cold night a week before xmas the air conditioning was put on full everywhere, even in the ladies toilets. We arrived cold and wet and was looking forward to a cosy dinner with lots of xmas atmosphere instead. We kept our coats on and our food was cold.
We've been to the Net many times just for drinks and never been disappointed with the bar service and always through we were missing out by not dining at the Ned, but is seems we've not missed anything. For over £200 for two people and we didnt even buy a bottle of wine, we will not be returning to eat at Cecconi's. Maybe we will try the other restaurants. Such a shame as its a cracking venue.
Fabulous food and service
Great service, very attentive. We got there earlier but they managed to get us a table. Food was good, not big portions though. Really good pizza. A bit pricy but considering the location and design of the place..it is acceptable. Good atmosphere
Food was excellent and even though it was busy and noisy as Christmas it still had good ambience. Service was just ok they could improve on that a little given they charge Michelin prices. We loved the lobster linguine and fabulous desserts
Staff waited too long between our courses and delivered the a main course pasta that had clearly been sitting out for a while (all the cacio Pepe pasta was stuck together). We had waited too long and did not bother trying to resolve this as we had to leave.
very noisy, food slow in coming, table staff uncaring and we had to rush
Food was ok but this isn’t Mayfair restaurant by any stretch of the imagination. It is high turnover, formulaic dining.
Excellent venue for a birthday lunch.
Lovely food and excellent service.
Really like this restaurant with great food and great ambience. Be careful if you want to have a quiet business conversation though when there is a band planning on the main stage next door - you’ll have to shout above the noise!
Unfortunately nothing worked for our trip to Cecconi's. The service was dreadful and the food less than average. Nice drinks though. We had to complain and were suitably compensated but we would rather have had an enjoyable girly lunch rather than waiting and complaining. We even had to ask them to clear the table. I fear this is not a one off as my Husband had a similar experience the week before.
