Our waitress ( sorry didn’t catch her name, lady with the short red hair) was great. Big love to her!
Disappointed by my experience at Cecconis - got served carbonara and said I thought the bacon was undercooked. It was taken away and not given back and I was still charged for it. I would have expected them to maybe cook it a little longer then bring it back, or for them to not have taken it! I was then charged £12 for a few bites of food which was a really shame.
Amazing food, great buzzy environment, but poor service because I think because our poor waitress was serving every table in the house!
I’ve been going here to a few years and usually pretty happy. Today less so. The food was not impressive. The calamari was over cooked and rubbery. The zucchini fritti was also over cooked. We both had the fennel sausage pizza which was ok.
The service was very slow. Seems like they are short staffed.
Probably won’t return for a while.
Been here a few times - never fails to disappoint- food always great and service is always first class - lively atmosphere even at the time of our visit - will return again.
Food was ok but the service was slow and it was fairly noisy.
Just finished running The London Marathon & it was the perfect place to have a celebration bowl of pasta!!! Fabulous!!!
Took my family here on Saturday - food was incredible! And the best service and atmosphere xxxxx
The food here is amazing and definitely worth visiting for but the service really lets it down, they’re so slow at ordering your drink and then bought over the wrong drink twice. If they had more staff then the place would be great. Has a very old school Italian vibe with dimmed lights and small tables.
zucchini fritters were delicious!
Main issues were the pasta dishes. Carbonara was awful (wouldn’t even call it a carbonara), and the caccio e pepe was dull. Pizza was good.
There was only one, very clearly overworked, waitress working.
Food was amazing as always, this was my 3rd time at the restaurant and the service was terrible. We sat down at 8:30 and no one came to take our drinks until 9:00. We couldn’t see any waiters to ask for drinks. Once we had our order taken, the server was extremely rude and had a terrible attitude. We then got starters and it took about 30 minutes for our dirty plates to be removed from the table, this was the same after our main courses. Having ordered desserts 25 minutes after our mains it then took another 30 minutes for the card machine to arrive at our table. This service was not acceptable and the waiters were more interested in dancing together around the restaurant than focusing on their main priorities the customers. Unfortunately I will not be returning due to the above points even though the food is delicious. Not a happy customer.
The food was outstanding. Five of us had pizza and one had pasta. All were delicious. Water served free and a good choice of wines. Perfect location for the theatre!
Such a great find, delicious food and very quick service! All in all a great restaurant
Short staffed. Too loud. Mediocre food. Would not recommend.
Sat outside as requested - nice location and atmosphere. Service was painful. Wine (Sauvignon Blanc) was overpriced (£27 for a carafe) and didn’t taste good at all. Pizzas were good! But they randomly added burrata to it (tasty but charged £5 extra…!?) Starters came out about 9 seconds after we ordered which felt rushed. Not a great experience - wouldn’t return. Sad as I love the Cecconi’s main restaurants - so I’ll stick to that.
This place was just too loud and too busy to be at all enjoyable. Waited 20 minutes to be acknowledged, an hour for average food, and another 30 minutes trying to pay our bill. The waitress was lovely but just entirely slammed and the carbonara good- but not good enough to ever come back.
An incredibly disappointing experience at Cecconi's Pizza Bar. I have dined at Cecconi's many times and have always thought they have excellent service thus I expected the Pizza Bar branch to be similar. The reservation was for 5 people and we were given a small circular table along the window. When I arrived there was only two chairs at the table. We asked for more as more people were coming - this took 15 minutes to happen.
Whilst waiting for the other guests to arrive we tried to order some bread for the table and a bottle of wine - a reasonably simple request you would have thought. No waiter came to our table for over 20 minutes. During this time we tried to flag down someone to take this order. Eventually we caught someone's attention whom said no problem. 20 minutes later we still had no wine or bread, we asked someone else who assured us it was coming. Another 10 minutes passed, we asked again when we were told it had not been ordered so we waited another 20 minutes - 50 minutes to get one bottle of wine and no bread.
Our waitress came to take our food and drink order for a table of 5. We noticed she did not write any of it down. She went to the till to place it, then came back to our table to reconfirm. This happened a couple times so we suggested we write down our order to make it easier for her - she said this was not necessary. Our food arrived quite promptly, however, a dish was missing. We asked where it was, the waitress checked the till and realised she had not ordered it! My friend had to wait 30 minutes for her food to arrive whilst all our food got cold.
To top it all off we were requested to leave our table due to seating time; not a problem had one dish not been 30 minutes late. We raised this to a supervisor was clearly visibly annoyed and to apologise she took that one dish off the bill. I asked for service to be removed and we saw her visibly shaking her head and muttering under her breath.
Absolutely outrageous service.
After all the hype around Cecconis, to say I was disappointed is an understatement! Bland food with an expensive price tag. Service was good & staff were friendly, just a shame about the distasteful pasta!
Music was so loud we could not have a conversation at all. This made the wait for our food seem very long (it was not too bad of a wait though). Pasta was disappointing. Not a lot of flavor or interest. Just noodles and bland sauce.
We made a reservation for 3 at 2:45pm on a Saturday and it was very busy. When we arrived, there was someone ahead of us who was a walk-in and wanted a table for 4. The person at the front desk (I think the manager) told him it may be a 20 minute wait. The manager didn't greet us, didn't ask if we had a reservation nor did he pay us any attention in fact. This was very strange considering we were waiting at the door as clear as day. The manager then sat the walk-in ahead of us! At this point it had been impossible to get any member of staff's attention. Eventually, I was able to get the manager's attention, when I told him we had a reservation and asked why the walk-in had been given a table first, he told me very defensively that, 'he was here first'... which is not how it works. Anyway, we were eventually (at this point, we'd been there for 20mins) told me could wait and the bar while we waited for a table. I don't think we were sat down until 3:15p, about 30 mins after our reservation. To his credit, once we were seated the manager told us that the drinks we had at the bar were on the house. I really appreciated that and the table mix up was forgiven. From then though, there only appeared to be 1 waitress on shift and she was attending to the entire restaurant so, of course, the service was slow and inattentive. It took another 10 minutes to be asked if we wanted to order drinks/food. We then waited about 45mins - an hour for our food (pizza) which was ridiculous. I felt bad for the waitress as she looked extremely stressed out, overworked and also on her own (though more staff came on shift towards the end of our time at the restaurant). Once the food came, it was fine, not the best pizza I've had, and perhaps I'd have better things to say about the food, but once you've waited 45min-1 hour for it, it has to be pretty good to get over the wait. Sadly, it was mediocre. I wouldn't go back here again as it was not an enjoyable dining experience.
The service was absolutely appalling. Between reservation time and being sited and asked what we would line it took 50 minutes.
I never even got to experience the restaurant as my table was at 8:15pm and we never got seen even after waiting for 30 minutes and being told TWICE that we would be taken to our table shortly. By the time it was 8:45pm and we still had not been seen we left the restaurant
Very nice place to have lunch. The food is really good.
Food was phenomenal! Portions were a little small and the restaurant was quite dark and loud but we still had a wonderful time and will definitely be back!
Way too loud (music was blaring) and service was horrible. Wasn’t attended to for ages then midway through eating (I still had 3/4 pizza left), the waitress came up to us and said she needed the table back in 10mins. Incredibly rude and we had only been there for 1hr15
Great place! This bar is amazing! Theatre actually! The Pizza's are fab; the salads are beautiful and the pasta is very yummy! The service is exceptional and all the staff are so attentive and very friendly. The noise levels could be too much for some people - for instance small children - but if you are looking for excitement, great food and fun then this is your place!! Thank you Sylvia, thank you Marco and all the staff.
Didn’t like being rushed off our table - but the staff were nice non the less
Service very good and setting very vibrant. Food is a let down tho, quality is really gone down which is a shame
Very good food, a little expensive and the service was quite slow
Chilled, casual, effortless. Comfort food. Ideal Sunday
Lively pizzeria; we sat outside which was great. Pizza's tasty and unique flavourings. Attentive service; all round good experience.
All 3 of us had pasta plates (one was gluten free) and a bowl of salad to share plus a carafe of red wine. Absolutely delicious. Service was excellent, attentive. Food arrived pretty quickly. The only minor thing was, although the music was great it was a little loud. For daytime service it felt like you had to talk loudly to communicate across the table. But we chair danced and enjoyed it. Clam & mussel with al dente pasta was especially generous and fantastic. Highly recommend for a Soho lunch
Moderate food. Not enough choice of drinks for children.
Poor selection of ice creams. Only chocolate and vanilla..
Quite a dingy atmosphere. If we hadn’t been going to the theatre opposite with grandchildren we would not even consider it.
First time here, and the food was great food, as well as the service.
Staff all excellent, pizzas great.
Great pizza and red wine. Lovely atmosphere and staff are always so nice!
Super friendly staff. Music a little too loud for a relaxing pre theatre dinner.
Music was way too loud to extent we had to shout to talk to eachother so we didn't stay too long. Drinks were nice and average price for the area. Pizza was amazing, tasted great and good value. Pasta in comparison fell short, no salt nor flavour.
