The setting at Céleste is superb - a richly decorated dining room, naturally illuminated during day by a domed glass roof, whilst seductively aglow under the softly lit chandeliers in the evening. It is a scene that transforms constantly throughout the day. As the light changes, so do the guests; from breakfast time to lunch to afternoon tea and dinner, it’s a beautiful and fascinating spectacle.

Went for lunch after going to the RA. Staff attentive to start with then they forgot about us. Took about half an hour to get our liquors we saw them going round and round the restaurant, then waited even longer for the coffee. Had a really nice time, they were obviously concentrating on cream teas. Not really a Michelin starred experience but ok.
I waited for about 10-15 mins just to check in . Very impolite and lack of staff at the entrance.
It was a lovely way to spend a Sunday lunch. Very welcoming and kind service. Food pretty tasty. We would like to go back for an afternoon tea :)
Highly recommended in particular if you stick to the deal of £49 pp which includes a glass of champagne - an extra glass of the same champagne each costs us £34.
Not the usual level of service/attention to detail. Still lovely, but not worth the price of the 5 course set menu with wine pairing (£250/each).
Their set menu offer delivers excellent value, coming, as it does, with first class service and that wonderful setting. The glass of champagne was both good quality and a decent measure. Thank you.
It was magnificent from start to finish
We had the fixed menu offer, incl a glass of champagne, which more than offset the apparently very high prices normally experienced here. The food was very good, but I suppose not exceptional by Michelin standards. Service was outstanding and the room itself is an attraction. A very fine evening.
Worth trying once, but not one we'll repeat. Very good food, though conventional rather than creative and pricey for what it was. Staff were friendly and helpful though kitchen seemed to be in chaos with 20-30 min delays between each course of a tasting menu made it rather drag out, and they had to stay open well beyond the legally required 10pm closing time just to finish serving the menus people had ordered hours before. (There were several tables there when we left just before 10.30pm). Though front of house staff did an admirable job in difficult circumstances job of apologising and providing free drinks etc while we were waiting. The restaurant décor is nice, but suffered from an insoluble electrical problem part way through causing the majority of the lights to fail. Also the music was too loud and inappropriate for a restaurant aspiring to be high end.
The food was worthy of its Michelin star. Outstanding beetroot salad and quail dish as first courses on the set menu. Main courses also very good (duck for me, stone bass for my wife), although we needed our extra dish of root vegetables. The strawberry pudding was lovely and coffee excellent. Almond tart a bit stodgy.
Service was charming if a little stretched.
The room was smart but odd, a bit casual for my taste. And we were greeted at the hotel door warmly, but with the words "are you joining us for afternoon tea?' (at 1pm!) And there were indeed lots of people eating afternoon tea at lunchtime in the main (only?) dining room. It felt plain wrong to be eating lunch next to others munching scones. But if you don't mind that you will get well prepared food here and the set lunch is good value.
Beautiful service and food. Excellent for a date night.
An exquisite venue with outstanding food and service. We went for one of the live music nights and the music was great too. An excellent and memorable evening. We have been to Celeste before and no doubt we will back again. Great place for foodies and also for special occasions.
Amazing food, amazing staff and amazing service, they made our night memorable. We went for the set meal option which was an incredible value for money considering the quality and the overall experience. Also as we went on Saturday night they had a live piano player and singer which added to how special the experience was. And of course the restaurant is simply stunning. We will definitely come back.
Amazing! Great food, ambience, service and incredible value. A great luxury that was able to take our minds off current circumstances.
We were waiting to be served for 25 mins and had to rush to finish our meal by 10:00PM, and their excuse was “that we were busy”
Unpleasant experience. Won’t be returning
Céleste would not allow a booking for the menu du jour for a solo diner on their own website. That is the reason why I booked with Opentable.
Céleste wanted £85 for the same time for one person ( Live Nights at Céleste) but would allow booking for two people at same time as my request for the £42.50 Menu du Jour!!!
The hotel did not confirm or deny that there was a policy discriminating against a solo diner on a Saturday evening in the reply to my email.
There was an extremely loud pianist next to my seat, but I was moved at my request with no problem
I was given a half glass of sparkling wine, (I specifically asked to see the label) , half the price of the champagne as described on the offer. The waiter proceeded to spill it on the table, left for the duration of the meal.
No wine menu offered. I asked for a glass of Crianza when the main course was put down in front of me. This was then dripped down the glass and onto table, again not noticed or wiped up.
Halfway through the meal the air con went on above me and It was very cold.
The restaurant was very busy but I had felt rushed and did not receive the standards of service I expected.
The total opposite of Saturday evening was a wonderful time the day before at Restaurant Alain Ducasse which I can highly recommend for delicious food accompanied by superb service.
Amazing restaurant never disappointed amazing food and service
Honestly beautiful, grand and fantastic! Thank you all
Amazing experience and food fantastic.
Food was excellent for the most part but the service average (20mins for a drink to start) and the service charge exceeded the 15% quoted without stating that. Service not up Michelin * standard although masks do make it harder.
Excellent food, excellent service, and nice venue.
My son and I had a lovely time.
Restaurant was pretty empty and so atmosphere totally lacking; food was average cannot believe it was supposed to be at Michelin Star level (apart from the scallops); no where near worth the money.
I dined at Céleste with four friends. The experience was surprisingly mixed. The room itself is magnificent and spacious. The food varied, with some excellent courses (e.g. oxtail) to the dessert, which was average. Service was poor, particularly the sommelier. We ordered a second bottle of wine before the main course and it still hadn't arrived once we had finished the main course. We told the lovely waitress we no longer wanted it, only for the sommelier to suddenly appear with the bottle and start pouring. I stopped him and politely said it had taken too long and we no longer wanted it, at which point he aggressively said it had been chilling (um, why?), snatched the glass away from my friend, and proceeded to tell the waitress off in full view of the table. The service then deteriorated, with an hour between finishing the mains and us getting the bill, which then sat on the table for ages with us eventually having to get up to find someone so that we could pay. The most disturbing part of the experience was the sudden change of the sommelier from overly (sycophantically?) friendly to aggressive and unprofessional. We can all have an off day, but his behaviour was alarming and unacceptable. We won't return.
Great for chatting
Great value on set meal
The whole experience was understated elegance! The service and food were both very good.
This was my friend’s last day in London. And also it was her birthday. Thank you very much for the best food and service. I love this restaurant. So beautiful. I highly recommend this one.
Exceptional food wine and service. Magical experience
Lovely setting and friendly service. However just felt something was missing with the ambience. The food itself was acceptable but none of the dishes we ordered would be considered Michelin standard.
Amazing and tasteful set menu, very fresh and refined. The atmosphere is beautiful. The waitress was very nice but forgot to offer us bread at the beginning of our meal and the waiter at the end counted us a 4th meal whereas we were 3...fortunately I always check carefully the bill...but that was not a nice touch.
My wife and I where having the 4 course Vegetarian tasting menu. All dishes tasted delicious and packed with flavour. Outstanding dishes: Pottimarron soup, baked cauliflower. Paired with excellent wines. Definitely worth a drive. The venue does have a lot of ambiance and great service
5* with all the trimmings
A really lovely way to spend a wet and raining afternoon catching up with special friends.
A really lovely room - felt very glam and was a quiet world away from the busy Christmas streets. Great food in decent portion sizes, attentive friendly service and nice wine included. Would definitely return.
The booking, the restaurant called and was hostile about taking a credit card for the booking and promised to call and confirm the booking 48 hours before our dinner, however, they did not call even though they had assured me that they will call.
They also sent a threatening email that if anyone cancelled after the 48 hours they would charge £50.
We were 4 women and the servicing staff never offered us the wine list nor did they take any drinks order. At the main course when no one still did not come to take the drinks order we had called and order our wine.
They did not come to clean the crumps from the table between courses. The food was nice but service poor and attention to detail bad .
It was over priced for poor service and just nice food.
Nice welcome and really fantastic dining room! Service prompt and attentive. Food is really fresh, clearly prepared by a remarkable kitchen team and overall outstanding! The FOH team is professional and has the right approach. Shame about the wine being too warm. Admittedly i was told however, they could have done a bit more in my opinion to ensure that it would chill quicker and surely there are way to do so. With that said i have mentioned it at the time and as a gesture they given us the two glasses of Champagne free of charge which was a nice touch and really appreciated
Business breakfast. Excellent food, good service. Very pricey but a stunning dining room which impressed my guests.
The setting is great - very quiet and beautiful surroundings. It is a pity that the food is only mediocre - I would say there are plenty of better michelin starred restaurants and I think they will need to work much harder to maintain their status and customers.
Celeste was lovely. Amazing food, attentive service. Special occasion. Restaurant was very quiet though which was a shame. Also were overcharged initially and had to point out.
Céleste is finding its way to the top of choices for London culinary scene in one of the city’s grandest dining rooms. The wine program and chef continue to strive for excellence. Hats off to the hotel’s leadership for its commitment to a dining experience equal to London’s finest hotel.
Fantastic!! Always great to return
Will definitely visit again
Celeste had nice service from the staff, and they prepared a decorated dessert to celebrate our occasion. The food was delicious and the interior was very well designed. However the bread that was served was very dry and there was only olive oil to accompany the bread.
Céleste is rated 4.5 stars by 302 OpenTable diners.
