Cepages is a neighbourhood gem that offers easy dining in a nice and relaxed space. I have been to the restaurant on several occasions and the food is generally very good, most recently however I noticed some dishes were not quite as excellent as before.
The service is generally friendly but again most recently the staff has been less helpful, this may be a one-off and I would be happy to forgive them if only the owners of the restaurant would realise that playing music at the volume they do here is no longer acceptable. Indeed, in a small restaurant like this, why play music at all? Just turn it off, I guarantee their turnover will increase overnight...
Should be prepared to take more stand up walk ins by the bar for a more local vibe but generally, brilliant.
We've been going to Cepages for over two years and love it. The wine list is great, the food is excellent and the people working there are very knowledgeable and helpful. I would definitely recommend it.
Amazing French bistrot/wine bar food. Snails quality was great. Tasty, hint comfort food with the right touch of refinement. Really great
All very good, though I would describe the noise level as considerably louder than "energetic".
Lovely meal - very French but with a modern twist. Staff vert friendly and recommended great wine. Would definitely go back!
Cosy, French wine bar with a marvellous selection of wines by the glass and bottle. The food is good but not everything on the menu is recommended. The camembert could do with a rehaul.
The staff are professional and attentive with good knowledge of the wines. I thoroughly enjoy coming here. Great atmosphere - another little Notting Hill gem.
I loved our dinner the other night. Food was delicious and the ambience is great!
Great dinner! Thank you very much
Truly one of the best spots in London, food is delicious and service is impeccable !
Hospitable and amenable staff. Quick and friendly staff despite us arriving half an hour late.
The food was sublime. Snails were tender, croque monsieur was tasty, the lamb and chicken were fabulous cooked and the langoustine and pork belly was a belter. Pleasant and well-priced wines and Champagnes.
Give it a go. We will definitely be back
Great food and wine.. Very enjoyable meal!
We had the best food at Cepages, we shared five different dishes between two ppl, they were all faboulus.
The duck confit, beef cheeks, beetroot , gnocchi with lardon & rocket and the veloute, all prepared and cooked to the highest standard. Very nice and service minded staff with good recommendation and knowledge about the food and wine. Nice and cosy wine bistro, good ambiance would definetly go back and can warmly recommend Cepages to anybody.
My fourth visit, still excellent. Highly recommend letting them give advice on the wines, most of which are direct from the vineyard. The pommes dauphines are fabulous, as is everything really.
Excellent place to enjoy food and wine
Very nice and cozy restaurant.
Only small plates to share but food is very tasty, good wine selection.
We had a lovely evening and we’ll certainly be back!
Called to confirm and called to inform the restaurant we would be a 30 mins late for a 9pm booking. Arrived to find we didn’t have a table. And this was not the first time! On our prior visit (a couple months ago) we arrived ten minutes late and the restaurant had given away our table. Cepages needs to respect booking customers more than this! Otherwise service, wine and food was very good.
Great food. Fois gras poêlé stole my hart. And sommelier ladies are very helpful.
Hidden gem - absolutely loved it. Staff were also really lovely.
Popped in for a quick bite before catching a train from Paddington, but enough of the life story! Tasty dishes well executed, try the beetroot carpaccio with orange, feta and hazelnuts, some good wines too.
One of my favourites. It's a cozy place with great food only down side is that there aren't any glutenfree desserts.
Great staff, and delicious food.
This is a delightful neighbourhood wine bar with better than expected food... laid back atmosphere in tiny, eclectic space. A real feel of France in Notting Hill.
We've been going there for a few years now and it's one of our all time favourite places. Couldn't recommend this restaurant more. They offer excellent wine range and the people have great knowledge of the different regions in France and how they match the different dishes.
I think it's overpriced for what it is. But the food is interesting.
Wonderful, nicely decorated little eatery serving great French food. The plates are 'small bites' designed to be shared over good wine and good conversation. The waitress recommended a nice bottle of red, and I couldn't really fault the food (the sea bream in particular was cooked very well).
If I had to fault it, it would be over the atmosphere - perhaps it gets busier in the evenings, but it was strangely quiet considering we visited at 1pm on a Saturday (for a long time we were the only people in there). That said, the design and look of the place is great.
Was a really lovely meal to celebrate our anniversary. The staff were friendly and accommodating and recommended lovely and the right amount of the tapas style dishes to order. Great wine list, even if on the pricier side. We will definitely be back soon.
My new favourite in Notting hill area. The food was so dedicatedly made, and was so yummy. Very cosy place in a quiet residential area.
been here twice and i love experimenting through the menu!
Lovely little restaurant off the beaten track in notting hill. Highly recommended.
Fantastic French gem hidden in the backstreets of Notting Hill. I felt like I was in Bordeaux. I will definitely go again.
Despite speaking to the restaurant in the day to confirm the reservation, they cancelled the reservation and we were less than 15 minutes late. Come on, even Pizza Express wouldn’t cancel a table in 15 minutes! Other than that, good.
A second visit to Cepages, just as fabulous as the first. The food is outstanding, matched by what must be one of the better curated wine lists in the city. The Dauphine potatoes are a must - several times over, apparently! It does get noisy as the space is small, with hard surfaces all over. Leave room for dessert - worth it.
Our first visit. The food was very tasty and the wine very good. Would definitely go again.
Definitely the best ambiance in Notting Hill! Love it.
Awesome- really enjoyed it. Great wine list & terrific French tapas - will be returning soon
we go regularly. love this place. food never disappoints.
Delightful in every way. They were able to accommodate our group of three at the very last moment on a Friday night. And then they moved us to a bigger table as soon as it freed up. The menu is fine: French tapas. Each dish is a delight and good for sharing. Decent wine list and very kind attentive service.
Always excellent little French gem in Notting Hill.
My wife and I are from Philadelphia and were in London for Philadelphia Eagles. We were getting a little tired of British pub food. We picked this restaurant on a whim and were very happy with it. I saw some comments that the the "tapas" was a little pricey. We found the portions to be good for two people and the cost of dinner was reasonable as we had a bottle of wine and sparkling water.
Wonderful neighborhood and great food and wine. Understated yet sophisticated.....
