This was an excellent restaurant - friendly staff and great tasting food. I would definitely visit again when in the area. The only downside was that, having booked online using the Open Table website, when I arrived at the restaurant they had no record of my booking! Luckily there was plenty room.
Wow the food was amazing. You MUST come and eat here... fabulous
Been here several times. Never failed. Lovely place to meet and chat and very attentive staff.
Owner greeted us with a powerful presence, explaining how the flavors culminate and recommended a few dishes. Service far surpassed the usual.
Great find , the atmosphere and food were superb. Great staff knowledgeable and friendly. Definitely worth a visit.
Ristorante informale ma eccezionale nei gusti e varietà di prendere atti proposti.ci tornerò volentieri!
Absolutely amazing- our second visit. We live in Tunbridge wells and would visit London to go to this restaurant alone. Lovely cosy decor, amazing service, v friendly, and the food is too notch!
Nice place and atmosphere, very nice food as well, a lot of spices used but we loved it. It is possible to see the kitchen from the restaurant, is nice to see the chefs at work but I would have preferred to see them with an heat!
Delicious small portions incredibly tasty, Middle eastern flavours, very healthy, served with kindness and attention to detail. Ideal when in a rush as they are very quick to serve. Also perfect before heading to the cinema or museum or any theatre.
A little gem, reasonably priced.
Absolutely delicious food. Great ambience. Attentive service. I’m a foodie and would rate this as one of London’s best restaurants. I can’t wsit to go back.
Great Food and atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed it. We eat here when the family was in London. Great Mediterranean food.
Very tasty food with a good selection of vegetarian/vegan options. Good selection of wines from mediterranean/Middle East regions.
A delicious meal which was different in the selection of ingredients. Food was beautifully presented with only a short waiting time. The staff were friendly, informative and very efficient and enthusiastic.
I searched on Tripadvisor for a lebanese restaurant, Ceru was one of the top. After reading the menu, I noticed that many of lebanese dishes are missing, I asked the staff who explained that actually is not a lebanese restaurant but there are some lebanese options only...humus was horrible! :(((
Absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. Friendly efficient service and totally delicious food. Highly recommended
This was our first time at Ceru and we will be back. The food was amazing, the staff friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.
Best done as sharing plates. The dips and salads all delicious, and excellent for gluten-free/veggies. LImited meat and fish menu, but all fresh and well-spiced. Wine list predominantly Middle Eastern--interesting and served by carafe. Not for a special occasion, but good, may, before the Cine Lumiere or after one of the nearby museums.
Extremely arrogant and rude waiter. Food was good enough but overpriced. Music too loud
Food is average and by the time one orders 3-4 dishes each, ends up being surprisingly expensive. I had early dinner on a Monday evening and the staff were constantly pushing us to order, finish and pay. It did not feel like a relaxed atmosphere but a conveyer belt. Overpriced with poor service.
It was a busy Saturday evening and we had booked on the same day. We had a nice table for 4 and were served by a very polite and informative lady. A bit weird that wines are only served by carafe; we were 4 so we would prefer a regular bottle. The ambience was nice however the food was very average. There were way too many spices used in the dishes (not making them spicy but instead stealing the flavours of all the main ingredients) and also most of the main/meaty dishes were way too sweet, resembling more of desserts. The desserts on the other hand were heaven!
Great, flavoursome food!
Absolutely love this restaurant. Lots of fresh food with vibrant flavours. The slow-cooked lamb shoulder is a must. Possible to eat well and healthily. V friendly too.
Good food, very reasonably priced. Great decor and loos. Relaxed atmosphere.
The food was amazing particularly the prawns.
The waitress who took us to our table was very friendly and always served with a smile. The only minor bad point was that our waiter was a bit blasé and didn't seem to want to be there. I asked for his help in choosing a smooth, light red wine to which he responded quite bluntly "9", which of course meant nothing too me until I looked through the menu and saw that it's the name of a red wine
But overall we really enjoyed it
Nice different and a good place to sit and share.
Took my mum here for lunch before an afternoon show at the Royal Albert Hall. It was perfect. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food was fresh and delicious. The dips and bread were particularly good, so was the cauliflower and walnut salad, and I loved the rich chocolate mousse. Service was also quite fast so perfect if you're fitting in a meal before a show. It gets busy (presumably because it's so good) so it's worth booking. Would highly recommend, we will be back.
Had a fantastic time at CERU! Location was easy to find, restaurant cosy. We sat close to the kitchen and next to a large group which was a bit noisy at time, but it was not constant.
The service was spot on and friendly, helpful staff. Amazing cocktails! Even more amazing food. Average size portions. Small-ish menu and some products really repeated itself ie. walnuts and pomegranate seeds on many a dish, so my only comment would be more diversity. Otherwise fantastic! And a very moderate bill considering the quality of food. I cannot wait to go back and can highly recommend CERU.
My wife had raved about Ceru, having dined there with friends last year. So it was good to experience what all the fuss was about! A great place to go with friends and share lots of dishes with a few carafes of wine. Stand-out dishes were beetroot hummus, the fish and - star of the show - the slow-cooked lamb. Buzzy atmosphere and cool, friendly staff. Loved it!
We wanted a relatively quick, early evening meal and Ceru delivered. The food exceeded our expectations, especially the hummus and the deliciously tender lamb shoulder. The homemade lemonade is also very refreshing
Excellent. A memorable and most enjoyable occasion even though I found the dining room and its hard surfaces quite noisy.
Absolutely excellent food. Great menu - variety but not too extensive. Got great recommendations from the waitress on request. Will definitely return.
The food was delicious and filling. The staff were super friendly and explained the menu well. We went for a Mother's Day lunch and the atmosphere was great - casual and vibrant. Absolutely no complaints! Will definitely be going back as it's so close to the Natural History Museum which we go to often.
Fantastic little spot! I wish there was a CERU in my neighbourhood.. had a lovely lunch after doing the museums. I definitely recommend..
Excellent food and service
My friend and I had a good overall experience and the food was good. I would recommend the venue to my friends. Some details to be aware of, we arrived late and the waitress made a point of telling us that we still only had 90 minutes total at the table so we would have to be quick! In the end the couple who'd booked the table after us were also late so we did have time to finish our meal. The staff should handle these scheduling challenges behind the scenes rather than put diners under pressure to vacate their table.
I can recommend the lamb shoulder and also using South Kensington tube station rather than Gloucester road if travelling to the restaurant via tube.
What a find! Lovely food, great value, friendly service and flexible opening hours. We'll be back!
Second visit with friends and we all loved the food. Very imaginative; great flavours and quality. Can’t wait to go again.
Fantastic eat. We were looking for something a bit different to the norm as a pre theatre meal. This didn’t disappoint. Will return soon.
We went because of previous 5 star reviews and it was well worth the trip from the coast. The food was amazing - we all agreed - and that was both the vegetarians and the meat eaters. The staff were lovely and we would definitely go back anytime. Luckily for us they are opening a branch in Soho in May 2018 which is much nearer to where we live, so expect more visits.
Ive been to Ceru several times now and, once again, was not disappointed. The food is fantastic, great value and the ambiance and service is warm and welcoming. You will need a reservation though, it can get busy so dont leave it to chance!
