Great food, great craic. Will definitely be returning.
Lovely food and great experience. I really enjoyed the singing performance
We were disappointed we couldn't get a table around the Chef but it was more than made up for with the entertainment in the dining area along with the fantastic food and service! Would definitely recommend
Fantastic food and service, all the staff were so kind and the singing was so fun! Will definitely be back!
We had a fantastic time at this restaurant. We were a party of 5 with 3 teenagers who really enjoyed it too. The staff were amazing and we were entertained the whole night.
Great experience , staff were so lovely and excellent entertainment ! Great value too!! Food was amazing!
The food was delicious -the duck massaman curry best I have had. Service great with added extra of our table being serenaded by one of the team on his guitar
Social distancing in dining area adhered to
Overall we had a lovely time
Could not praise this restaurant enough! A fantastic dining experience with great food, enthusiastic staff and terrific atmosphere. Fully enjoyed the evening! What was an especially lovely touch was the fact the restaurant rang me to confirm whether I preferred to be seated downstairs or the live cooking area. Would recommend greatly.
Not good, see trip advisor
Staff were very nice and friendly. A guitarist and singer arrived at tablet which was nice. A mix of families, people on dates and groups of friends /colleagues.
Good fun very fresh nice food
We were so squashed together at the table that I had to sit back from the table and put my plate on my lap. I felt the whole experience was really rushed. They tried to take my diner plates away twice when I wasn't finished. They took our aprons off us before we ordered our deserts. Food was fresh and tasty but doesn't come with an sauce for the mains so it is just meat and fried rice. The singing was good and staff are friendly. Just a pity it felt so rushed and we were so tight for space.
Be aware that if you book online, they’ll put you downstairs in the pan-Asian restaurant and not at the teppanyaki tables (and you can’t order the teppanyaki downstairs). Food was very tasty but loads of MSG used so beware if you don’t react well to that.
Also be aware that there’s some fairly bizarre “entertainment” in the restaurant, with a man playing the guitar and singing, accompanied by a lady with a tambourine, who visit each table in turn and play to you. They’re actually reasonably talented but if you hate that sort of thing (which I very much do) then this place is not for you.
Quantity but not really quality. Rather disappointing. Sorry.
Nice people. Nice service.
Very enjoyable evening, great food & fantastic staff, we will def be back
Such a great find! So much fun, I love all the interaction between the chef and us and also the music was brilliant! Already told all my friends about it and cannot wait to go again!
Writing a review for this restaurant should be unbelievably easy, due to it being simply fantastic, however: Not only was The food was amazing. The atmosphere was perfect, talking, laughter, singing whilst still being able to talk to table members easily. The chiefs are skilled in both cooking and hosting, providing a show whilst cooking some of the best food iv’e eaten in a long time (since Benkay- Paris). You are provided with live music after your meal which is delightful. Finally, I would recommend this place to anyone, provided they don’t take themselves too serious nor want a silent fine dining experience, as you will be asked to catch eggs in your temporary acquired chiefs hat, may be placed into a larger group and their is a lot of chief interaction!
P.s thank you for a wonderful evening.
We loved this restaurant! The food was delicious and very high quality. They had some local musicians that made it so, so fun! We would highly recommend it.
I had a terrible experience with Chai Yo last week. Please if you are booking PLEASE make sure to tell them that you want Teppanyaki specifically, otherwise they will place you in a very empty basement dining room where you will be served mediocre food and hear all of the fun happening upstairs that you THOUGHT you would be enjoying but only get the pleasure of listening to. I used to be a loyal Chai Yo fan for all of my business dinners but after a terribly embarrassing business dinner flop due to the circumstances above I will not be back.
My experience in Chai yo was marvelous, everyone who works there is really kind.
It’s a great place to celebrate birthday and having dates, definitely I recommend this restaurant, it's super relaxed and fun place.
I had the best night with my siblings, a party of 6, in the downstairs dining room.
The staff were so attentive and great fun. The food was delish (especially the salt and chilli squid starter)
Decor was lovely, and the value for money was unreal.
Woukd highly recommend.
we had a lovely meal for a birthday celebration, food was excellent and the price was very reasonable, and staff were very friendly, the lads singing and playing the guitar were brilliant and made the evening, will definitely be back again
We really enjoyed our meal. It was a group of 4 which we booked the same day to be seated downstairs. The food was delicious and there was an upbeat atmosphere. If you don’t enjoy live music and being serenaded I wouldn’t recommend but we loved it, made it an enjoyable experience
We love chai yo and have made it a regular visit every time we are in Dublin
Lovely food. Down stairs is a bit dark and removed from the fun upstairs but fine. Service and food were 100% though
Food was very average and the service was not good.
Grand spot for lively celebrations like hen parties. The staff were lovely. Just not what you want if your focus is a traditional dining experience.
The food was great and very fast service. The buzz was a amazing and the staff where very friendly. Good value for money. We Will definitely be back.
If you are looking for a Hen or Stag party venue, you should come here.
If you are looking for an authentic restaurant to enjoy a dinning experience, categorically, do not go here.
When I came here, they wanted to sit us in the far corner so they could get a few more covers in.
Secondly, there was a very loud large group next to us. They did not warn me when I booked.
Thirdly, they deliberately kept the bottle of sake we ordered, away from the table to try and get us to buy more drinks. This was deliberate attempt and very underhanded.
Fourthly, I was not impressed with the mediocre quality of the food.
Finally, whilst we were eating, they came out with a guitar and started playing with the food. Needless to say that I was appalled at this.
I will never go to this restaurant ever again.
Fabulous staff, food and atmosphere. Staff were amazing and food was delicious, hot and very tasty. The singing staff were a bonus - we loved it, great night!
Great place for atmosphere and fresh tasty food.
Had the best night ever! So much fun! The food was gorgeous and plenty of it. The chef was so entertaining. The craic was mighty! Brilliant. A night to remember.
Great location, great food & service. We were downstairs so a bit isolated but that didn’t affect our evening as it meant we could chat easily.
Would highly recommend Chai Yo to a friend! Wonderfully friendly and attentive staff with excellent food and added entertainment, can’t go wrong. Will be back!
The food was superb and the atmosphere generated by the staff singing was fantastic. A great night was had by all. Will definitely be back for more! The Teppanyaki tables were not available on the night we visited but these looked like great craic and are well worth a look!
Great atmosphere, service, and food was nice and we even got serenaded by a singer and guy on a guitar. Our waiter was fantastic with a good sense of humour.
Very nice meal and good food. The restaurant was quite loud and crowded, but to be expected in December.
The food was amazing and the floor manager looked after us very well
There are two different restaurants here and the same staff seem to operate both. Downstairs, normal table service, is easily booked and nothing special. The teppanyaki restaurant at ground level looks much better craic.
Good food, if a bit salty. Chef: EXCELLENT
Would great to have the aircon on.
