A nice place to eat. Not so good value for money. £3.70 for two spoons of rice. I cant say I'll be back!
I have been here twice now and whilst the food is lovely, it is very expensive for what it is. There are by far better places for much less money. The service was very slow - took 20 minutes to be asked if we would like a drink on arrival. Food was lovely as always but eye wateringly expensive - 1 starter, 2 mains, 1 rice, a glass of wine and a beer for £95 is a lot!
Really great food, staff could be a bit more happier looking though - sorry to say..
In any case, read my review here: https://freshearth.co.uk/reviews/vegan-dining-at-champor-champor/
Perhaps you should fix that cooler. It was too hot for a summer day and we were so sweaty.
The food and the hospitality was perfect. Enjoyed a lot.
Had a lovely dinner with my sister and enjoyed the experience from start to finish - tasty free hors d’oevres when we sat down, nice cocktails, pretty and tasty dishes, friendly service. Thank you!
My friends and I had a really nice dinner!
The food is excellent and the staff was nice
It was not our first time there but we will come back again for sure
Simply amazing ! Food was great it was one of the best curry I have tried . And I have tried many . The staff was so friendly and all was amazing I recommend it
There is a reason you must have reservations here. It is outstanding in every way.
Lovely food, good wine and a nice space. Service was a bit rushed though and it was quite busy and noisy inside.
Pretty expensive for what we had. Starters were Luke warm, and my vegan main was particularly uninspiring. A pity as we had high hopes of this places having read the reviews. Had planned to visit again with friends but going elsewhere now.
I booked because of the reviews on Open Table and thought it might struggle to live up to the hype - it didn't! Six of us enjoyed a variety of starters and mains. The last time I had beef rendang this good was in Singapore. Highly recommend.
Great food and service. Only complaint is that they don’t have to remind us over and over again that we only have the table for 2 hours. We get it!
Good food, good ambiance but it's too bad the service was not good. No smile, grumpy face. I booked the place two weeks before and they've reserved our table closed to the toilet, while the rest of the table was still empty. Finally we managed to move to another table. It would be appreciated if the people who work there smiled more and welcome more.
Amazing food and generous portions. The wine was great if a bit pricey. I was expecting it to be a bit more "romantic", but I will definitely be back
Second time here. Great experience and absolutely great food both times. The service is really good.
Superb staff and excellent friendly customer service made the delicious food and ambiance a terrific experience. Thank you all.
Good food, but the staff seemed a little stressed. Also things seemed somewhat disorganised.
Bad experience with service.
We were rushed out even before we finished our meal.
Great food, definitely try the soft crab, it is delicious.
Place is cramped and service is mediocre.
Not your typical Thai. Food was interesting and good. Read the menu carefully and ask questions if in doubt.
If you want a beer they are incredibly small and expensive.
Overall we enjoyed.
Delicious food, "shrimps" were more like small lobsters!!
Enjoyed our second visit but our table was close to the bar and therefore many staff continually passing by - will ask for a table in quieter location next time.
Each plate was beautifully presented. Friendly service. Very good approach to managing allergies - with menus showing which dishes are suitable according to type of allergy, eg fish or shellfish.
Food was outstanding and for London, fairly well priced. Staff were lovely and we were more than happy to leave a tip at the end. Would most definitely recommend this to friends and family and if on the area again would visit over and over.
This was our first visit as it was our anniversary. When we arrived we were seated very quickly and the staff were very courteous and efficient. Once ordered the food arrived hot and delicious, the staff were ever vigilant without being overbearing and as soon as we had finished, the plates were removed and our Mains were delivered. The ambiance of the restaurant was great - there were quite a few people for a Saturday night, but not so that it got rowdy. I would definitely recommend the Massaman Chicken - it was cooked to perfection and the sauce was lovely and thick, the variety of wines also suited all pockets. I would definitely recommend Champor Champor, but ensure you book ahead as it can get quite busy.
Once again, amazing service, amazing food and amazing setting!! Highly recommend!
This was a thank you dinner and honestly it was the best experience ever! Best tasting Thai food I've EVER had. Didn't really like Thai food before lol
Tucked away and not one you’d find unless you went looking for it, but food was excellent! Absolutely everything was delicious from the complimentary starter to the 3 starters we ordered to share and 3 mains. The halloumi side, prawn starter and beef rendang were our favourites!
And very good value for money too! I’d definitely go back!
This is literally one of the best places I've been. Design is great, food is 10/10, price is very reasonable and staff are very kind. Great evening.
The food is amazing and value for money. The staff were helpful and accommodating. Will definately visit again.
It’s always great for a restaurant to make an impression on friends who have not been before. Although I had visited many times, we were sat downstairs in a room which I didn’t know existed! This cosy room had two tables and was decorated like a garden area with a swing. It took a while for the food menu to arrive but as usual, the food in both presentation and taste impressed. My learned friends commented on the quality of the wine list and were happy with the range which went well with the food. Service was prompt but was non existent at the end. We had to go upstairs to ask for the bill which we also duly paid upstairs as there was no reception downstairs. Not a big deal and it was in the way out. Overall, this is my usual place to introduce friends to a little hidden corner of London with consistent quality of food.
Delicious and unusual food, lovely interior. A hidden gem that is very handy for London Bridge . Looking forward to returning.
Booked for a romantic meal with my partner, a little slow to bring the menus and offer drinks but otherwise hard to fault. Portions were generous and food absolutely delicious. Definitely recommended.
Fantastic food very tasty and very friendly service. 😋
I have been to champor champor a few times and have always enjoyed the food. However I am vegan these days and order the vegetarian dishes which were not great. The fried okra was terrible and the banana curry was just ok. My friend ordered a chicken dish which was delicious according to her.
Excellent service, very helpful and friendly. Food was delicious, especially the lamb shank massuman curry. The prawn dishes coming out the kitchen looked great so will try that out next time. Complimentary toasted banana bread was a nice touch. Will definitely return.
Very nice place but the allergy menus needed updating and the dish of baby squid that I had was tough and rubbery, so much so that I could not even chew it. The meat dishes were fantastic and cooked very well.
However, when I complained about the squid I didn’t even get an apology or asked if I wanted another dish...I got a “well I don’t know how to cook squid so I couldn’t tell you how it was meant to be!” That is an unacceptable response from a waiter.
Other than that it was lovely.
Me and 2 friends had a nice evening at Champor Champor - but the place did not blow me away. Starter was really lovely (soft shell crab) but the fish I had for my main course was very dry. The service was also lacking. Waited a long time before we were able to order and no one checked up on whether the food was ok. Might give it another try but my expectations were not really met the first time.
Lovely fresh Malaysian/Thai food with unusual pairings, in a very attractive cosy restaurant close to London Bridge station. Charming service and decent wine selection. A favourite of ours for a number of years.
